Chapter 415 - Rasa vs. Gaara

Chapter 415: Rasa vs. Gaara

"Why are you here?"

Rasa's voice cracked like a whip across the battlefield. "You should be rotting in a Konoha prison! Or sealed away in a vault as a weapon! Why are you standing beside Uchiha Akira?!"

Facing Rasa's furious interrogation, Gaara stood in absolute silence. At his feet, grains of pale sand flowed of their own accord, swirling in a slow, hypnotic orbit around his ankles.

"Prison?" Gaara tilted his head. His tone carried a frightening, deadpan calm. "I am now Hokage-sama's disciple. I am a shinobi of Konoha."

The words struck Rasa like a physical blow, slamming hard into his mind.

"Disciple? A shinobi of Konoha?" A harsh, grating laugh tore from Rasa's throat, dripping with absurdity and mounting fury. "Are you out of your mind?! You are Sunagakure's ultimate weapon! You are the monster I forged with my own two hands!"

Rasa thrust a trembling finger toward Uchiha Akira, his face contorting as he roared at his son.

"You bow to your enemy and call him father? You take the man who crushed Sunagakure beneath his heel as your master?! Kill him! Gaara! That is a direct order! Unleash Shukaku! Tear Uchiha Akira apart and avenge your village! It is the only way to prove you have any worth in this world! Do not forget what you are—an Asura born for slaughter! Outside of killing, you are nothing!"

His voice dripped with manipulation and oppressive authority. This was his usual method. It was the same psychological poison Rasa had fed him since childhood. Through constant denial, crushing suppression, and forced isolation, he had sought to shatter Gaara's psyche and mold him into a mindless blade.

However, this time, Rasa was destined to be disappointed.

Facing the hysterical roaring and the familiar attempts at mental control, Gaara's expression barely shifted. He looked at the man who had once been the source of his deepest night terrors. Now, looking into Rasa's manic eyes, Gaara felt only a fleeting spark of pity.

"Worth?" Gaara's voice was quiet, yet it carried clearly over the howling wind. "My worth is not yours to define. And I am no man's weapon."

He glanced sideways at Naruto, who stood ready, and then back over his shoulder at Uchiha Akira. The faintest ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of Gaara's mouth.

"I have comrades. I have a teacher. I live to protect those who acknowledge me."

When Gaara turned back to Rasa, his sea-green eyes sharpened into twin blades.

"As for Sunagakure... that rotting village fell because it was led by an incompetent, narrow-minded Kazekage!"

The cork on the massive gourd strapped to Gaara's back popped free. A violent surge of yellow sand erupted into the air, hissing like a furious serpent.

"For the sake of your pathetic ambitions, you bled the village's future dry. You turned your own flesh and blood into a monster. Your era ended long ago, Rasa! The people of Suna are now citizens of Konoha, and they live a hundred times better than they ever did under your suffocating reign! Your so-called revenge is nothing but the thrashing of your own fragile pride!"

Every word struck with lethal precision. Rasa's jaw worked uselessly, his mind reeling. He had never imagined that the broken failure who used to clutch his head and scream at the voices in the dark would stand before him now, articulate and unyielding, daring to lecture his own father.

"You bastard! Unfilial son!"

Rasa's composure shattered entirely. The humiliation of having his absolute authority trampled by his own failed experiment drove him over the edge.

"If he has brainwashed you... then I will simply scrap you! I am your creator! I hold the right to dispose of my own failed product!"

Rasa slammed both palms onto the earth.

"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Spear!"

The heavy clouds of gold dust lingering in the atmosphere churned violently. Countless jagged spears of pure, hyper-dense gold condensed in the air. With a deafening shriek of displaced wind, the golden deluge rained down toward Gaara.

"Watch out, Gaara!" Naruto yelled, leaping forward. His hands blurred through a sequence of seals. "Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

Naruto inhaled sharply and exhaled a roaring hurricane, trying to scatter the golden artillery. But the sheer density of the gold dust tore right through the gale, utterly unaffected.

"Stand down, Naruto," Gaara said, stepping smoothly in front of the blonde genin and raising a single hand. "This is between him and me. I will sever the chains of my past with my own hands."

The mouth of his gourd flared. A torrential geyser of sand roared into the heavens like an ascending dragon.

"Sand Shield: Sky Sand Protective Wall!"

The loose sand instantly fused into a colossal, hardened dome, casting a massive shadow over Gaara and Naruto.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Sparks showered the battlefield as the heavy gold dust spears slammed into the barrier. The metallic shrieks echoed endlessly, but the seemingly fragile yellow sand held firm, as impenetrable as tempered steel, blocking every single projectile.

Rasa's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible! How can ordinary sand withstand my gold dust?! Gold is heavier! I hold absolute superiority in density!"

Beneath the sprawling canopy of sand, Gaara lowered his arm, his gaze chillingly indifferent.

"You are too arrogant, Rasa. Did you truly believe you were the only one capable of evolving? My teacher did not just grant me power. He taught me how to wield it."

Gaara clenched his outstretched fingers into a fist.

"Sand Coffin!"

The solid earth beneath Rasa's feet instantly crumbled into a swirling vortex of sand. Without a fraction of a second's warning, massive earthen hands lunged from the dirt, clamping brutally around Rasa's ankles.

"Damn it!" Rasa gritted his teeth, straining to rip his legs free. But as he fought the grip, a cold dread washed over him. The sand was saturated with an overwhelmingly oppressive chakra.

It was Shukaku's power. Yet, it was perfectly, flawlessly controlled.

"You... you tamed the beast?" Rasa breathed out, genuine terror creeping into his voice. This was the ultimate hurdle that had plagued generations of Kazekage. How had this broken child achieved it?

A short distance away, Uchiha Akira stood with his arms loosely crossed over his chest, watching the spectacle unfold.

'Not bad,' Akira mused. Gaara's psychological shackles had finally shattered.

But in that exact moment, the atmosphere shifted. A cold, obscure presence materialized directly behind Akira's back.

No sound. No displacement of air. Not a single ripple of chakra.

It was the Second Tsuchikage, Mu.

Dustless Bewilderment Cover. It was Mu's signature technique, a flawless erasure of physical form and chakra signature—the absolute pinnacle of assassination ninjutsu. He had zero interest in the petty family drama playing out between Rasa and Gaara. To him, they were children squabbling in the dirt. The true threat stood right here. Cut off the head, and the body would die.

"Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"

Mu materialized a mere half-meter behind Akira. Between his bandaged palms, a semi-transparent, cubic barrier ignited with a blinding, apocalyptic white light.

At this point-blank range. At this perfect, unguarded timing. Not even a god could dodge.

"It ends here, Hokage," Mu whispered, his voice carrying the absolute chill of the grave. He thrust the glowing cube of annihilation directly toward the center of Uchiha Akira's spine.

Yet, Akira did not dodge. He merely shifted his head, glancing over his shoulder.

In that frozen fraction of a second, Mu met his gaze. He saw an eye. A terrifying, ripple-patterned purple eye that looked down upon the mortal realm with the absolute apathy of a deity.

Rinnegan.

"Limbo: Border Jail."

A dull, catastrophic boom ruptured the air. The Dust Release barrier trapped between Mu's hands shattered into harmless sparks of light. An invisible, impossible force slammed into Mu's chest. His body folded inward, launching backward like a fired artillery shell, tearing through the air ten times faster than he had approached.

A deafening crash shook the earth as Mu's body cratered violently into a mountain face hundreds of meters away, burying him deep within the fractured rock.

"How... is this... possible..." Mu choked out, struggling to peel his mangled form from the crater. His Edo Tensei body was already flaking, rapidly regenerating the massive, gaping hole blown through his abdomen.

Mu stared across the battlefield, his eyes wide with unadulterated horror.

What had just happened? He had perfectly erased his presence. Uchiha Akira had not even raised a finger. It was as if an invisible shadow had struck him down in an instant.
