Chapter 920: Exusiai: I've Been Seen Naked! Chief Wei: Oh No! I'm Socially Dead
The dimensional rift hummed as it sealed shut behind them, leaving the familiar skies of Tohru's original world behind. Ren stretched his shoulders, the ambient mana of the crossover space washing over him. He did not step toward his own home portal.
"Tohru, you and Kanna go on ahead," Ren said, casually waving a hand. "I won't be returning just yet."
Tohru paused, her dragon tail swishing in mild confusion. Kanna blinked up at him with wide, sleepy eyes.
"Huh? Are you going to do something else, Ren-kun?" Tohru asked.
Ren tapped the side of his head, pulling up the holographic interface of the Doomsday Chat Group. "Take a look at the group. Someone is screaming for my help."
Inside the Chat Group.
[Exusiai: "Ren, help!!!"]
[Stella: "What is going on?"]
[Rory Mercury: "Is Exusiai in danger?"]
[Shiroyasha: "Do not be ridiculous. She is Ren's Infinite Angel. What kind of danger could she possibly encounter?"]
[Ren: "Correction. She is now a dependent of Infinite Destiny."]
[Shiroyasha: "?"]
[Ren: "Never mind, do not dwell on the semantics. It is just a shift in a certain form of my power."]
[March 7th: "Oh right, right, Exu! She is in danger! Focus!"]
[Ren: "I saw it. I am already with her."]
[Ren: Image Attached]
He sent a photo to the group. It was a selfie of himself smirking, with a highly flustered Exusiai pouting in the background.
[Ren: "Exu is perfectly fine. Zero danger."]
[Erza Scarlet: "No danger, yet she cried for help like her life depended on it. Why is that?"]
[Exusiai: "Hehe... actually, it is all Ch'en's fault!"]
[Ch'en: "Huh?!"]
[Kiana Kaslana: "What exactly happened? Someone spill the details, I am dying of curiosity!"]
[Durandal: "Kiana, we are literally still in class."]
[Kiana Kaslana: "Oh, come on! Is it really class if you do not goof off a little?"]
[Durandal: "..."]
[Ren: "Simply put, Exu and her friends were caught watching a certain video by Ch'en. Madam Ch'en here was threatening to drag them all to the Guard Bureau for tea."]
[March 7th: "Uh..."]
[Saeko Busujima: "Watching... Exu, are you girls... really that desperate?"]
[Kisara Tendo: "Could it be that she just missed Ren-kun too much?"]
[Exusiai: "I really do miss Ren-kun! But it was not a group viewing of that! We were just watching a live stream! You guys must have watched it too!"]
[Esdeath: "Ren-kun's live stream?"]
[Nami: "Ah, this..."]
[Nefertari Vivi: "W-we watched it too... and Hancock, she... she... Woo..."]
[Kushina Uzumaki: "Wait, is watching that illegal in Lungmen too?"]
[Ch'en: "Cough. I was just joking with them!"]
Ren pocketed his interface, shifting his gaze to the blue-haired dragon girl standing a few paces away in the real world.
"So, Madam Officer," Ren asked, a teasing smirk playing on his lips. "Are you still planning to haul them off to the Guard Bureau?"
"I told you, it was just a joke!" Ch'en shot him a fierce glare, though the deep crimson flushing her cheeks completely ruined the intimidation factor. She looked less like a strict L.G.D. Superintendent and more like a flustered, shy young wife.
Seeing her squirm so adorably, Ren chuckled and decided to spare her further teasing. He turned his attention to the rest of the room.
The Penguin Logistics crew was gathered around. Texas, Sora, and Croissant all had their heads bowed. Texas pulled her cap down to hide her eyes, Sora was blushing furiously, and Croissant was awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck in shame.
"So that is how you all ended up gathered together," Ren mused. "Having a watch party for my live stream?"
Only one person in the room looked completely lost. Mostima, the fallen angel who was not part of the Chat Group, tilted her head, her halo glowing faintly.
'What live stream?' she thought.
Ren caught her eye and offered a casual wave. "Miss Mostima. We meet again."
Exusiai blinked, her vibrant red eyes darting between the two of them. "Wait. You two know each other?"
Why did she not know about this?
Ren did not miss a beat. "Do you remember the first time I came here? When we were doing it, Mostima swung by for a visit."
The room went dead silent.
Exusiai froze. Her halo practically short-circuited, flickering wildly as absolute shock washed over her features. She slowly turned her head toward Mostima, her eyes wide with sheer disbelief.
'It was at that time?''Does that not mean...'
"Mostima, you..." Exusiai's voice trembled, her face burning so hot it could rival a furnace. "You... you spied on me?!"
Mostima offered a helpless, albeit highly amused, little shrug. This was exactly the kind of explosive reaction she expected from her old friend. A slight, teasing curve appeared at the corner of the fallen angel's lips.
"Yes, Exu," Mostima purred smoothly. "Your broken expression back then was very cute."
"Eh?!!!"
Exusiai let out a high-pitched shriek that sounded suspiciously like a startled marmot. She threw her hands over her face, her wings wrapping tightly around herself. "It is over! I cannot face anyone ever again! Woo woo woo!"
Memories flooded back. She remembered how she had trembled, completely overwhelmed and impacted by Ren's relentless stamina, crying out in pleasure. And Mostima, who knew exactly when she had sneaked back in, had seen all of it! Exusiai wanted nothing more than to smash a hole in the floor and bury herself forever.
Croissant blinked, completely missing the heavy, scandalous atmosphere. "Exu, what is wrong? Your face is super red. Do you have a fever or something?"
Texas and Ch'en both whipped their heads around, casting utterly astonished glances at the dense defender. How could Croissant possibly fail to understand something so blatantly obvious?
One could only sigh. She was, indeed, the bread-loving, thick-skulled Croissant.
Ch'en cleared her throat loudly, desperate to steer the conversation away from explicit territory. "Cough! Ren-kun, do you still remember what we discussed before? Since you are back for a visit, why do we not take this opportunity to finally settle it? Wei... my uncle and the others are having a really hard time."
"Oh, right. You mean the marriage proposal banquet."
Ren nodded, recalling the arrangement. It had been pushed back repeatedly due to his chaotic schedule across different worlds. Thinking about it now, Wei Yenwu had already released the news to the public. The Chief of Lungmen was probably sweating bullets under the immense political pressure of a delayed engagement.
Ch'en nodded, her blush returning, but her expression remained serious. "Yes. And because of this matter, people from Great Yan have also arrived in Lungmen."
"People from Great Yan?"
Ren closed his eyes for a fraction of a second, letting his heightened senses ripple outward across the sprawling city of Lungmen. Instantly, two highly distinct, ancient presences registered on his radar.
One Qilin.
One Nian.
A confident, knowing smile curved his lips. "Alright. Let us get this sorted out today. I will accompany you to see Wei Yenwu."
"Mm. It is not too late in the day yet," Ch'en agreed, visibly relieved.
"Eh?! Ren-kun just got here and he is already being snatched away!" Exusiai peeked out from behind her hands, instantly dropping her embarrassment to cling tightly to Ren's arm. She looked up at him with wide, wronged puppy-dog eyes.
"Do not worry," Ren chuckled, reaching out to pat her soft, fiery hair. "I will come find you later tonight."
Meanwhile, inside the luxurious private residence of Lungmen's Chief.
"Fumizuki... can I get up now?"
Wei Yenwu, the dignified, untouchable ruler of Lungmen, was currently kneeling squarely on a wooden washboard. His aged face was scrunched up in a miserable, tearful grimace.
Today was yet another day he had managed to anger his wife, and his knees were paying the ultimate price. If the citizens of Lungmen ever saw this, their minds would shatter. Who could have ever imagined that the ruthless, calculating Governor was reduced to such a humble, pitiful state behind closed doors?
He was the textbook definition of a henpecked husband.
Madam Fumizuki sat gracefully on the sofa, calmly taking a slow sip from her porcelain teacup. She did not even fully turn her head, merely casting a sharp, sidelong glance at him.
"Before you get up, summarize exactly what you did wrong today."
Wei Yenwu let out a long, bitter sigh, his dragon tail drooping sadly against the floor. "I should not have gotten so drunk with Old Lin and the others."
He had only wanted to indulge a little, sharing a few drinks with Lin Kojui to blow off some steam, but things had escalated, and he had come home completely plastered.
"Did I not explicitly tell you to drink less?" Fumizuki reprimanded smoothly.
Mentioning this only made Wei Yenwu sigh even harder. "There is nothing I can do, Fumizuki. I am just so troubled by Ch'en and Ren-kun's situation. Old Lin and I already spread the word about the marriage proposal to all the major factions, but then Ren-kun completely disappeared! It puts us in an incredibly difficult position."
He shifted slightly, wincing as the ridges of the washboard dug into his kneecaps. "Whenever I ask Ch'en about it, she just brushes me off, saying Ren-kun is busy and does not have time right now. Those kids might not be in a hurry, but we old folks are practically pulling our hair out from anxiety!"
Wei Yenwu looked up, seeking a bit of solidarity. "Not to mention me... Fumizuki, you must be anxious for Ch'en's future too, right?"
Fumizuki paused, her teacup hovering just below her lips. She looked thoughtful.
'That is true,' she mused silently.
Just as she opened her mouth to reply, her sharp eyes caught a sudden shift in the air near the entryway.
Fumizuki's demeanor instantly transformed. She set her teacup down with a soft clink, slowly stood up, smoothed out her elegant dress, and bowed respectfully.
"Mr. Ren, it has been a long time. How have you been recently?"
Wei Yenwu froze.
Seeing his wife's sudden, formal actions, the Chief of Lungmen stiffly, mechanically turned his neck toward the doorway.
Standing right there, watching him kneel on a laundry washboard, were Ren and Ch'en. Both of them were staring at him with incredibly strange, utterly speechless expressions.
Wei Yenwu's soul left his body.
'It is over!!!'
