Chapter 915 - Calm Times Are Always Brief, Waves Rise Again

Chapter 915: Calm Times Are Always Brief, Waves Rise Again

"Trespassing. You are under arrest."

Ch'en's voice was cold, her grip like a vice as she slammed Mostima against the wall, effortlessly pinning the blue-haired Fallen Angel.

Mostima blinked, her usual enigmatic smile faltering in sheer disbelief. She tried to twist her arms, attempting to channel her Originium Arts to slip away, but the physical disparity was absolute. Against Ch'en's current monstrous strength, even ten thousand Mostimas wouldn't be able to break free.

Watching the usually untouchable Mostima get slapped with a pair of heavy steel handcuffs, Exusiai couldn't hold back. She burst into bright, ringing laughter, clutching her stomach.

Mostima stared at the Sankta girl, utterly bewildered. The world around them was cast in a monochrome stillness. Dust motes hung suspended in the air. Texas, Sora, and Croissant were locked in place like statues, completely frozen in time. Yet, Ch'en and Exusiai were moving freely, completely unaffected by her ultimate trump card.

"You..." Mostima breathed out, her eyes darting between the two. "Why can you move?"

"Because we can control time too, obviously!" Exusiai flashed a cheeky grin and snapped her fingers with a sharp click.

The monochrome filter shattered. Color and sound rushed back into the room. Texas, Sora, and Croissant stumbled slightly as their momentum resumed, blinking in confusion. Their eyes immediately locked onto the sudden intruder—Mostima—who was currently pressed against the wall in handcuffs by a very unamused Ch'en.

Texas's brow furrowed, her lupine ears twitching. "Mostima?"

Sora and Croissant exchanged utterly baffled looks.

"Huh? Where did she come from?" Croissant scratched her head, her shield lowering slightly.

"Sora, did you see anyone walk through that door just now?"

"U-Um, no... I didn't see a thing," Sora stammered, rubbing her eyes.

"Well, ain't that just bizarre," Croissant muttered.

Beneath her calm facade, Mostima's mind was racing. How did Exusiai do that? Did the energetic angel suddenly awaken some latent, god-tier Originium Arts related to temporal manipulation?

"Don't hurt your brain guessing, Mostima," Exusiai teased, leaning in close to poke the Fallen Angel's cheek. "Ren taught me." Her grin widened. "He told me it would definitely catch you off guard. Looks like he was right on the money!"

"It was him?!"

Mostima's eyes widened slightly. Of course she remembered Ren. The impossibly overpowered man who could toy with Exusiai—and reality itself—at his leisure. She vividly recalled his own mastery over time, a terrifyingly absolute authority that made her own Arts look like cheap parlor tricks.

If it was him... then this makes perfect sense.

The tension bled out of Mostima's shoulders, replaced by a wry, accepting smile.

"You really got me, Exu," Mostima chuckled softly, shifting her wrists against the cold steel. "But I come bearing no ill will. Just a harmless prank. Shouldn't Madam Ch'en of the L.G.D. let me go now?"

Texas stepped forward, her expression smoothing out. "Officer Ch'en, Mostima is technically an employee of Penguin Logistics as well. If you could..."

Ch'en let out a cold, dismissive snort. With a swift flick of her wrist, the handcuffs clicked open and vanished into her inventory.

"I had no intention of actually processing her," the dragon girl stated flatly, crossing her arms. "I merely wanted to teach her a lesson about indiscriminately throwing her Arts around on unsuspecting people."

"Mostima. What exactly did you do just now?" Texas kept her gaze fixed on the blue-haired messenger. Her lupine instincts were screaming that she had missed a critical chunk of time.

"Oh, nothing much," Mostima replied breezily, rubbing her freed wrists. "Just wanted to play a little joke on Exu. Didn't expect to be the one falling flat on my face." She smoothly glossed over the temporal anomaly, her eyes drifting toward the holographic screen projecting in the center of the room. "More... what are you all gathered around watching?"

"I swear I just heard words like 'broken'and'things that absolutely can't be done' coming from that screen," Mostima noted, tilting her head. "Care to fill me in?"

Sora's body gave a violent jolt, her face flushing crimson as she remembered the live stream playing out before them. Just moments ago, Croissant had been staring at the screen, muttering in sheer awe that if she were on the receiving end of Ren's 'stamina', she would literally break in half.

But as Sora peeked back at the projection, the scene had shifted. The girl currently in Ren's arms was someone else entirely—a petite, sweet-looking girl who appeared even younger than Sora herself. It was Hinami. Yet, despite the intense situation, Hinami wasn't 'broken' at all. Her face was flushed with bliss, safe and cherished. Ren was far too gentle to ever let someone so delicate actually break.

On the screen, the camera angle shifted. Ren casually adjusted his posture, turning his gaze toward the edge of the room where Shinka Nibutani, Satone Shichimiya, and Sanae Dekomori were huddled together on a plush sofa.

The three Chuunibyou girls were stiff as boards, their faces burning so hot they could fry an egg, absolutely refusing to make eye contact with the live, unapologetically lewd spectacle happening mere feet away from them.

Ren flashed them a wicked, teasing smile. "Do any of you want to give it a try?"

The Chat Group interface exploded with scrolling text.

[Shiroyasha: I knew it! It's starting! The shameless bastard is luring the fresh meat!]

[Shinobu Kocho: This isn't luring, Shiroyasha. He is merely asking for their consent.]

[Saeko Busujima: Exactly. They refused his earlier advances, and Ren-kun didn't force the issue. He is a gentleman, in his own unique way.]

Back in the room, Shinka, Satone, and Sanae shook their heads so violently they looked like rattling drums.

This kind of thing... it's way too scary!

We can't do it! Absolutely impossible!

"Suit yourselves," Ren chuckled, completely unbothered. He wasn't in any rush. "Then go keep Rikka company."

Rikka Takanashi had just finished her own 'vigorous exercise' with him and was currently slumped nearby, catching her breath. Hearing their absolute pardon, the three girls shot up from the sofa like they had been electrocuted. They grabbed the exhausted Rikka by the arms and practically sprinted out of the room, dragging her along.

Staying in that pheromone-drenched, sanity-shattering environment for even one more second would have caused their brains to literally explode.

[Shiroyasha: Tsk, tsk, tsk. Looks like the great Ren has finally hit a snag in his flirting! You can't even handle a few little girls?]

[Ren: Heh. Don't talk nonsense about things you don't understand, you old pervert. This is called 'respect'.]

[Aqua: Respect?!]

[Aqua: If you weren't literally holding another girl in your arms while typing this, I might actually believe you!]

[Aqua: But right now? Only a ghost would buy that excuse!]

[Ren: Respect and carnal desire are not mutually exclusive, my useless goddess.]

[Ren: Anyway, I've officially introduced my new family members to all of you. Any thoughts you'd like to share with the class?]

[Tushan Honghong: Everyone is very beautiful. You have a good eye.]

[Rory Mercury: Mm-hmm! I have to agree. Quite the delicious assortment of souls.]

[Stella Vermillion: I think before we discuss any of that, Ren, you should probably focus on calming down the girls currently in your room. They look completely overwhelmed.]

[Ren: You make a fair point, Stella. I suppose I shouldn't be distracted while streaming.]

Without missing a beat, Ren reached out and firmly grasped Cocolia's hand, pulling the mature blonde woman into his lap.

[Bronya:...Mother.]

Meanwhile, down the hall, the heavy oak door to Rikka's bedroom slammed shut.

Shinka leaned against the wood, panting heavily as she stared at her eyepatch-wearing friend. "Rikka... Tohka and the others..." Shinka swallowed hard, trying to scrub the vivid, scandalous images from her mind. "What exactly is going on out there?!"

Satone and Sanae stood beside her, their heads bowed, faces still glowing a radioactive shade of red. Even Sanae, who was usually bouncing off the walls with boisterous energy, was completely silent, nervously twirling her twin-tails.

The sheer absurdity and raw carnality of what they had just witnessed had thoroughly shattered their mundane worldviews.

"What are you talking about?" Rikka tilted her head, her ahoge twitching in genuine confusion as she adjusted her slightly disheveled clothes. "Everyone loves Ren. That's why we do those things with him."

"L-Love?!" Shinka's lips twitched violently. "I get that, but... is a setup like that really okay?! There are so many of you!"

"Of course there's no problem," Rikka declared proudly, puffing out her chest. "Ren is the most amazing being in existence! His stamina is limitless! He can easily defeat hundreds of thousands of enemies all by himself!"

"Hundreds... hundreds of thousands?!" Shinka choked on her own spit.

If anyone else in their old school had spouted such ridiculous numbers, Shinka would have immediately written it off as a severe case of eighth-grader syndrome. But this was Rikka. And after witnessing the literal magic, dimensional portals, and the terrifying aura radiating from the man in the living room, the claim suddenly carried a horrifying weight.

The collective sound of three girls gulping nervously echoed in the quiet bedroom. Shinka, Satone, and Sanae exchanged utterly speechless glances. They had no choice but to accept the absurd reality: they were dealing with a literal god.

Over the following days, thanks to Ren's casual but effective matchmaking, Yukino and the newer girls gradually acclimated to the sheer scale of his network. They learned the true identities of the Chat Group members, listening to wild tales of apocalyptic wastelands, fantasy realms, and futuristic cities.

Emboldened by their new connections, the girls began actively using the dimensional pathways, traveling to other worlds for sightseeing, shopping, and leisure.

Ren was more than happy to encourage this. Staying cooped up in one familiar world every single day would inevitably breed boredom. Letting his women explore the multiverse to change their moods and bond with one another was the perfect solution.

Naturally, the dimensional traffic went both ways. With the Otherworld passages fully stabilized, Chat Group members frequently crossed over to visit Ren's domain. But sightseeing was rarely their primary objective. More often than not, these powerful, beautiful women eagerly crossed vast dimensional voids for the sole purpose of throwing themselves into his bed, delivering themselves right to his doorstep for some 'fun'.

These indulgent, chaotic days filled Ren with a deep sense of contentment.

As he lay back, surrounded by the warmth of his ever-growing family, he couldn't help but think that once the impending 12-star doomsdays and the remaining hidden enemies were finally eradicated, living out eternity like this wouldn't be bad at all. In fact, it was exactly what he wanted.

But in a universe governed by shifting fates and apocalyptic systems, peaceful days were always a temporary luxury. Beneath the tranquil surface, new waves were already beginning to rise.
