Chapter Two (Finn Bowing Anime)
Finn enters the Doku base. His footsteps echo through the silence as the dust from his previous attack slowly settles. His straw hat casts a shadow over his face. He pauses, looking left and right, trying to get his bearings and locate Akira.
His face is set in a frown, his eyes scanning the surroundings impatiently. Then he hears the sound of approaching footsteps and instinctively grasps the handle of his katana, ready for a potential threat.
Before he can react further, an arrow flies toward him—heading straight for his head. But Finn's reflexes prove exceptional. He narrows his gaze, tracks the arrow's trajectory, and with a swift backhand slap, deflects it to his right, where it thuds into a building.
Finn's expression turns disappointed. He utters a single word: "Really."
As he looks up, he sees a group of about sixteen gang members approaching. They're all dressed in black tops and shorts or long pants, and each has a snake tattoo on their left hand. Their demeanor is menacing. Finn's eyes lock onto them, ready for whatever comes next.
The gang members are armed with various weapons—spears, swords, and chain maces. Some are shirtless, others wear black tops. Finn stands firm, clutching his sword, staring at the group, waiting for them to make a move.
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure watches from the rooftop of one of the barracks. He folds his arms and observes Finn with interest. This figure is Gama, Doku's right-hand man. He's surprised by Finn's display of Wind Style ability and wonders who this newcomer is. Gama's eyes narrow as he assesses Finn's presence, deeming him intimidating.
Gama's appearance is striking. He wears a black open jacket that reveals his toned physique, and two blades crossed in an X shape on his back. His long white pants and low-cut hair add to his menacing aura, and his eyes seem to gleam with a hint of red and brown. A small scar on his cheek adds to his rugged appearance.
As Gama watches Finn, he sizes him up, wondering what kind of opponent Finn might be. The tension builds as Finn stands ready, facing the approaching gang members, while Gama observes from the shadows, waiting to see how events unfold.
---
The gang members, fueled by anger and aggression, stand at a distance and stare a hole at Finn, who remains calm and collected. One of them taunts Finn, calling him a bastard and daring him to fight. The group's leader shouts, "Charge!" and they all rush toward Finn.
Anticipating their attack, Finn takes a step forward with his right leg and suddenly blasts off from his position, leaving a cloud of dust behind him. He instantly appears in front of one of the guards and delivers a powerful kick to the chest, sending the guard flying backward. The kick is so strong that the guard crashes into two other members of the group.
Almost immediately after the kick, Finn performs a somersault backflip and lands about thirty meters away from his foes, giving himself space to mount another offense. He quickly draws a symbol with his right-hand finger—the "Earth" symbol, which glows white. He uses it to channel the element, opening his palm wide and gripping the symbol as energy courses through his arm.
"Reiki Element Style: Earth Trigger!"
He jumps up slightly and lands as two huge chunks of rock rise from the ground on either side of him. Then he throws his hands forward, sending the rocks hurtling toward the group. The rocks collide with the gang, causing a massive cloud of dust to erupt and sending the gang members stumbling backward.
Finn's mastery of the elements gives him a significant advantage.
---
As the rocks collide with the gang, some members go flying, and a massive dust cloud engulfs the area. Two gang members stumble out, coughing and trying to recover their breath. Suddenly, Finn appears in their midst, seemingly out of nowhere. His movements are lightning-fast, and he's positioned above their heads.
In a swift, precise motion, Finn delivers a right-leg kick to one gang member's face and a right-hand punch to the other's. Both attacks land simultaneously, sending the two gang members flying in opposite directions. One crashes through a building to the left, the other through a building to the right. The impact is so powerful that they fly out of the dusty area, clearing a path.
With this display of speed and strength, Finn demonstrates his formidable combat skills.
---
Then a single guard angrily charges at Finn, seemingly out of nowhere, swinging his iron chain mace left and right. Finn effortlessly dodges by moving his shoulders and body, without even taking a step back. Fueled by anger, the guard takes a short tactical retreat and throws the chain mace toward Finn. Finn dodges by slightly moving his shoulder, allowing the chain to pass through the space he just occupied.
Guard: "W… whaa—"
Finn grabs the chain now beside his neck, pulling it toward him and bringing the guard forward.
With the guard in front of him, Finn delivers a swift knee kick to the guard's stomach. The guard coughs up blood and falls face-first to the ground. Finn simply drops the chain on top of the guard's back. The chain rattles and falls against the guard's body.
---
Two more guards charge at Finn from out of the blue. Their angry shouts accompany the simultaneous release of their spears, which hurtle through the air with deadly precision. With effortless agility, Finn dodges the projectiles by subtly shifting his shoulders left and right, his feet executing a measured backward retreat.
Guard (one of the spear holders): "Ghaa! Damn it! Stay still!"
Undeterred, the guards thrust with another spear attack. Anticipating this, Finn swiftly grasps the wooden shafts of both spears—his left hand closing around one, his right around the other. With a calculated motion, he adjusts the spears' trajectories, angling them in opposite directions. This precise movement creates a narrow window of opportunity, allowing Finn to slip through the gap between them.
As he threads through the spears, Finn's hand instinctively goes to the scabbard at his side, partially drawing his katana. Before completing the draw, he explosively accelerates past the guards, his back turned to them. In a blur of motion, Finn unleashes a lightning-fast strike—his foot flashing out with devastating precision. The guards are caught off guard, unable to react or defend. The strike lands with pinpoint accuracy on their chests. They crumple to the floor, bleeding profusely.
With his objective achieved, Finn sheathes his sword with a smooth motion. His gaze shifts forward to behold a third individual cowering in abject fear. This person clutches his sword tightly, his eyes wide with terror.
---
The scene unfolds with Finn staring intensely at the guard, who falls to his knees, trembling. The guard's eyes are bloodshot, his face pale.
Guard: "What are you? What the hell are you?"
Finn's expression remains stoic, his gaze piercing. "Your executioner."
Just then, Gama appears on the rooftop, walking slowly toward the edge. He claps his hands in approval, a puzzled expression on his face. "Nice one. Who knew you were this strong?"
Finn turns his face toward Gama, who stands on the rooftop to his left. Gama's presence is intimidating, his gaze seeming to bore into Finn's very soul. The atmosphere is tense, with the guard cowering in fear and Finn facing off against Gama.
---
One of the guards on the floor shivers in fear as Gama points his gaze at Finn. Some of the guards who were farther from the fight whisper among themselves. Then one guard yells, his voice filled with joy and relief: "Gama is here!"
Another replies, "I don't think we could have handled this bastard alone. Thank God he showed up."
Gama chuckles, seemingly amused. "This is gonna be fun."
Finn stands still, his straw hat shading his face from the scorching desert sun. "Out of my way."
Gama's expression darkens. "You're a disrespectful one, thinking you can intrude. I'm gonna cut you, piece by piece."
He dashes toward Finn with ninja-like speed, drawing both blades simultaneously with both hands, swinging them horizontally toward Finn's throat. Finn draws his katana from its scabbard and blocks the attack with ease, the edge of his katana pointing vertically toward the ground.
"Out of my way, or you'll regret it," Finn warns.
Gama locks eyes with Finn, then jumps back, withdrawing and forming a new battle stance. He looks at Finn with a mixture of surprise and intrigue. This guy isn't kidding.
The tension between them is palpable. The battle is far from over.
---
Gama's eyes lock onto Finn's. "Hey, you're not from here, are you? Your moves… your trait must be elemental—Wind Style. But how the hell did you pull off multiple traits simultaneously? You just used Earth not long ago, and now you're fighting like someone with the Buki Ryū trait. You're a strange one, huh? Haha."
Gama's words are laced with curiosity and wariness, as if he's trying to understand the extent of Finn's abilities.
Finn raises an eyebrow slightly. "I see. Though if I may ask, you're no Bu no Ryu user. Your fighting traits are that of a skilled dual-blade user—a Weapon Style user, to be exact. Your trait… the Buki-Ryū. You're from Tekkoku—the Land of Iron."
Gama lowers his weapons and stands up straight. "Ah, he knows. Yeah, I'm no Bu no Ryu user. I'm a Weapon Style user."
Finn's curiosity is piqued. "You're a Weapon Style user…" He closes his eyes briefly, then opens them. "Guess you won't mind filling me in on why you're here."
Gama frowns slightly, his lips pressed. "Tch."
"You're from Tekkoku," Finn continues. "So what's your business here on Bugie no Kuni soil—the Land of Martial Arts?"
Gama's expression turns cryptic. "Business, of course."
Finn's confusion deepens. He raises his eyebrows, prompting Gama to add, "Something you'll find out soon enough."
Gama's demeanor shifts. He switches back to a battle stance. Finn extends his right arm forward and gestures with his palm—a silent challenge. "If you don't wanna talk, then I suggest you just bring it on. Let's end this."
---
Gama's eyes gleam with intensity. "You're a strange one. I guess I'll just attack and see how you handle it. I don't know what kind of power you hold—your fighting style is different from anyone I've seen. But it won't count when I splash you away."
Gama lets out a fierce yell. A yellow aura starts to emanate from his body, circulating and pouring out dust. When it stops, his body is covered in yellow energy, enveloping him in a unique aura. The yellow energy then pours onto his blades, covering them in a vibrant glow.
"Hmph. Let's see you hold your own against me being serious."
Gama takes a wide, sinister grin. In the choking atmosphere of silence, he charges toward Finn with purpose. Both his hands are drawn backward, the sharp pointed ends of his blades facing behind him as he dashes like a ninja.
Finn stands ready, clutching his katana's handle, his gaze narrowed toward Gama, who dashes forward, leaps into the air, and lifts both blades above his head. He prepares to deliver a vertical cut from top to bottom—and does.
With a quick draw, Finn pulls his katana from its scabbard and almost immediately coats it with soft blue Reiki energy, similar to Gama's yellow-coated blades. Finn blocks the incoming blades from above with the side of his katana, holding it horizontally.
Gama's face shifts from courageous confidence to shocked surprise. He thinks to himself:
What the? Did he just coat his blade with Reiki? No way—that's a Buki no Ryū trait, like mine.
---
With Gama stunned after being blocked, Finn advances with a powerful jab from his other hand while still blocking Gama's blades with the other. But Gama moves sideways in midair, dodging the attack. When his feet touch the ground, he immediately swings and lands a sidekick to Finn's midsection, pushing him back at least a couple of meters.
Finn recovers and holds his stomach from the surprise kick. He wears a frown and a killer glare in his eyes, his katana still coated in blue Reiki energy.
Gama: "Ha! You are done for!"
Gama says this while dashing toward Finn, closing the gap. He begins to unleash fast, flashing slashes of both blades at random angles. Finn defends himself, blocking all of Gama's attacks with his katana while taking quick steps backward to create space, but Gama advances, closing in even more.
Finn reacts with quick backsteps while blocking numerous times. Meanwhile, the guards around stand staring in admiration, their eyes wide and jaws dropped like hippos. One guard breaks the silence.
Guard 1: "This is crazy. I can't follow their movements."
Guard 2: "Their leagues are no comparison to ours."
---
Back to the fight. Things stay the same until Gama decides to end things with a double-blade thrust to Finn's chest to kill him and possibly end the fight. But Finn sees the blades coming. He gives an unexpected smirk—perhaps being cocky—and speaks with a disappointed face and pressed lips.
Finn Bowing: "Are you this cheap?"
After saying this, Finn moves with majestic quickness, bending over and applying a roundhouse sweep kick to Gama's legs, taking him off his feet. When it looks like Gama is about to crash to the ground on his shoulder, Finn utilizes his quickness, gets up to a vertical base, and delivers a straight punt kick to Gama's stomach. The punt kick is so strong that blood pours from Gama's mouth, sending him flying just before his body crashes to the floor.
Doku's Men Watching from the Sidelines
All Guards: "Ahhh! Gama!"
With the quick pace shift from Finn, the guards' faces drop to restless, panicked gestures. They can't believe what just transpired.
---
Back to the battle. With Gama launched away by Finn's punt kick, he is unable to recover. Finn's body almost seems to glitch and suddenly appears right in front of Gama, who is still flying from the previous attack and unable to stop himself. Finn continues to rush toward him in a steady sprint.
Author's POV: Finn's glitch-like teleportation is not actually the case. His movements are so fast that sometimes it looks like he glitches or teleports when he moves.
---
After Finn catches up with Gama—still helpless to stop himself from the impactful punt kick—he draws a Wind Kanji symbol in midair with his extended right arm. His finger glows with a sparkling white aura. Finn then grasps the symbol with the same hand as a huge surge of white energy envelops his entire body. He quickly speaks the words:
Finn: "Element Style: Wind Trigger!"
Gama finally recovers. His gaze narrows on Finn, who is now in front of him after fortifying himself with Wind Style. Gama feels a mix of shock and fury simmering beneath the surface. His mouth hangs open, his teeth clenched in a silent snarl, his face twisted in a grimace that is almost, but not quite, a grin.
Gama (inner mind): Well, damn.
Finn: "Chaa!"
Finn lands a brutal direct front kick to Gama's stomach, forcing Gama to spit out saliva uncontrollably. As the kick lands, a huge wind erupts from the bottom of Finn's foot, propelling Gama with such great force that he goes through a solid barrack building nearby, leaving a cloud of dust yet to settle. The atmosphere is left in silence—so quiet that a pin drop could be heard.
At this moment, Finn Bowing turns his back on the cloud of dust in front of him, a calm gesture on his face.
His calm expression could only mean one thing: He was the victor.
---
Doku's men are left jaw-dropped as they all gaze at the victor, Finn Bowing, who stands still with a piercing look on his face—almost telling them, "You come closer, you are dead."
Then one of the guards speaks.
Guard (unknown): "Gama got thrashed."
Guard 2: "We don't stand a chance against this guy." His eyes are almost popping out with red veins, shivering in fear.
---
Meanwhile, inside the barrack room where Akira is held, she is still chained to both ends of the room. Tears fall from her jade eyes; her sobs don't cease. Then she goes quiet as she begins to hear unfamiliar noises from outside—bangs and grunts of men being beaten.
Akira (inner mind): Someone… someone came for me.
As thoughts of a potential rescuer come to her mind, more tears roll out of her eyes, showcasing her graceful, bold jade eyes. She screams her lungs out:
Akira: "Ahhhhh! Someone help me!… Some… someone, please!"
These sounds—the chief's daughter's yelling—immediately reach those outside.
Finn Bowing: "Ah? Huh?" (surprised) (inner mind: A woman's scream? … It has to be.)
Finn's neck almost immediately rotates toward the direction of the sound. He sees two people walking toward him from that direction.
Out of the two, one is none other than Doku. His appearance streaks immediate tension into the air. Doku wears a black top that showcases his muscular arms, painted with black tattoos of a cobra coiling on both arms. He wears white jogger pants with blue, snake-like zigzag stripes on both sides, and black-and-white Shaolin-style shoes. His pitch-black hair covers half his forehead, giving him a menacing look.
Finn stares at Doku as he approaches, one guard cowering behind him.
Finn Bowing (inner mind): Doku… yes, no doubt. I can sense his Renkai. It's beyond the other lowlifes around—and Gama too.
Finn's straw hat casts a thick, dark shadow on his face as he analyzes the situation. Doku, heading toward Finn with his man, stops, leaving a distance of about fifteen meters. Then he speaks in a bored tone, reacting to Akira's scream coming from the building behind them.
Doku: "Oh, come on!" (He rolls his eyes.) "Don't that bitch ever shut up?"
---
The guards around go quiet. Doku's gaze lingers on the spot where Gama was sent flying, his expression a mix of surprise and concern. He takes a step forward, his eyes locked on Finn.
Doku: "You… you're the one who's been causing all the trouble."
The guard standing behind him looks nervous, unsure of what to make of the situation.
Finn remains calm, his eyes fixed on Doku. He doesn't flinch. The air is thick with tension as Doku's presence commands attention.
Doku: "I take it he's the reason you called me, right, Hahima?" (He gives Hahima a side glare.)
Hahima: "Yes, boss. He's the one."
Doku returns his focus to Finn. "You must have been the one who trashed this place." His tone drips with amusement.
Finn's response is direct and to the point. "Yes. I came for Akira. I'm taking her back to the village."
Doku's laughter erupts—maniacal and intense, echoing through the air. But then, just as suddenly, his expression turns serious, his eyes narrowing into slits.
"You think I'm gonna do that, you little punk?" he growls, his voice low and menacing, dripping with disdain. The air is charged with tension as Doku's anger and frustration simmer just below the surface.
Finn's voice is firm and commanding. "Out of my way. I don't have time for this."
Doku's response is unexpected. He folds his arms and smirks, a maniacal glint in his eye. "Really? After you trashed my base, you say you don't have time for this? We have all the time in the world, kid. Let's see… let's see who makes it out alive."
Finn's expression is unreadable. "Hm."
Doku's voice rises in anger and desperation. "You see, kid, this base has been my lifeline for years—my ticket to living for myself. And now you're about to ruin everything. You hear me? I'm going to make you pay."
Finn's expression changes. His strong heart is evident as he tilts his head up, his face illuminated by the sun. The sunlight highlights his features.
"Hm. You say 'business'? You call kidnapping an innocent girl business? Is that how you see life?"
Finn's words cut deep. Doku's face twists in response.
---
Doku's response is laced with pain and anger. "Huh, you talk of humanity? Cut the crap, kid. 'Cause where you're heading isn't… haha, you know, I was from the village, you see."
Suddenly, Doku's expression shifts to curiosity as he raises an eyebrow.
"Say, kid, you're not from around the village, are you? Hmph. I guess that explains it."
Finn: "Explains what?"
Doku: "The fact you don't know all the shit I had to go through, raised in that cursed place." (He clenches his fist; his eyes widen slightly as he composes himself.) "Well, you should have seen what they did to me when I was a kid."
Doku's eyes seem to glaze over, lost in memories.
"When I was a kid in the village, my mom was very ill—a victim of that poor diet. Tch. Courtesy of eating from the dump, of course. Anyway, I was forced to seek help from the villagers. Tch! Sadly, I was rejected and cast aside. Having no other option, I visited the village chief himself, asking him for aid. And you know what that bastard's reply was? He said, 'Your mother isn't worth saving for bringing a cursed child like me into this world.'"
Doku's voice cracks with emotion.
"Yes, you heard me. They rejected me—rejected my plea for help to save my mother. They said my dad was a criminal, that I didn't deserve to even live. It was the main reason my mom and I were forced to the streets in the first place—because of my father's sins. Yet they poured the past sins of my father onto me—a man I never even saw my whole life. He was executed when I was still in my mother's womb."
Doku speaks in uncontrollable rage. His words are laced with bitterness and resentment.
Finn's expression is intense. "The village chief did that?"
Doku: "No, he didn't do it. It was his father who did. And now I'm taking my revenge on the village. And this"—he gestures to the environment—"doesn't even count as revenge. It's merely an appetizer. Because when I'm done with that godforsaken village, there will be nothing left."
Doku's eyes burn with fierce determination. His words send a chill down Finn's spine.
---
Finn's expression is skeptical. "Hm. You don't get it, do you?"
Doku: "Get what exactly?"
Finn's words are piercing. "You don't get the fact that you're doing the same thing his father did long ago. Passing the sins of the fathers to the sons. That shouldn't be. You're going against something even greater than you. You're no god."
Doku's response is cold and calculating. "So be it. They did it to me first. They deserve to feel the pain and suffering."
Finn's voice is firm. "You are no god. You have no right to place judgment on others. You are just human."
Doku's response is laced with contempt. "Oh, really? Well, I'm done talking. Someone like you could never understand me."
---
Finn's outward expression remains serious, but in his mind, he thinks to himself:
Hmm. Jokes aside… people aren't inherently messed up or evil. It's the world that's corrupt and twisted in every way. I never thought I'd see the day where this is the reality we live in.
Finn's inner monologue conveys his introspective thoughts on the nature of humanity and society.
