Chapter 12 - Chapter 12:-

The police took Faizan straight to the police station. Inside, he was locked in a dark cell.

The night had grown deep… but inside the station, the atmosphere was tense and unsettling.

A few constables approached him, and without any questioning, they began beating him mercilessly.

One of them shouted angrily —

"Speak! Why did you kill our sacred cow? Isn't whatever you get enough for you people, that you have to eat our cow too?"

Faizan cried out in pain. He folded his hands, pleading.

"Sir… I beg you… we haven't done anything… we are innocent… someone has framed us…"

His voice was breaking… his breathing uneven…

"Please… catch the people who killed my father…"

The constables grew even more furious.

"So now you'll teach us what to do?" another one snapped.

"Stay in your place… or we'll beat you even more!"

And once again, they rained blows on him.

Inside the lockup, only one sound echoed —

"Thak… thak… thak…"

Faizan's screams filled the silent station, echoing through the walls.

Just then, the sound of firm footsteps approached the station entrance.

Inspector Vikram had arrived.

The moment he saw what was happening, his face hardened.

"What is going on here?!" he shouted.

The constables immediately stopped.

"Without a court order… without the results of an investigation… you're beating a suspect?"

There was anger in his voice… and authority.

"Do you think the law is a joke? This is my police station—not your home. Only the law will be followed here, not your personal whims."

Silence fell across the room.

"Take him out of the lockup immediately… and bring him to my cabin. Now."

A few moments later, Faizan was brought into Vikram's cabin.

His face was swollen… dried blood marked his lips… and his eyes reflected both fear and exhaustion.

Vikram looked at him carefully, then said in a calmer tone —

"Sit down… have some water."

Faizan hesitated for a moment, then slowly sat on the chair.

For a few seconds, the room remained silent.

Then Vikram spoke —

"Tell me the truth… everything. If you hide even a single thing, I won't be able to help you. And you may never get out of jail."

Faizan took a deep breath and began to speak.

He told him everything —

The rumor in the village…

The mob attack…

The violence against his father…

And his own innocence.

With tears in his eyes, he said —

"Sir… I swear… neither I nor my family has done anything… someone has framed us…"

Vikram listened quietly.

He could see something in Faizan's eyes — sincerity.

He was already aware of the case. It had been handled so far by Sub-Inspector Ashok, who had collected the evidence from the house and ordered Faizan's arrest.

But something felt off.

Faizan's voice… his eyes… his fear…

It didn't feel like a lie.

Vikram picked up the file lying on the table, glanced through it… and then slowly closed it.

Sub-Inspector Ashok's track record wasn't particularly reliable.

Only one thought kept circling in Vikram's mind —

"This case is not as simple as it looks…"

He looked at Faizan.

"If you're telling the truth… then someone has played a very big game."

Faizan looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Vikram didn't give a direct answer… but one thing was clear from his expression —

He was going to handle this case himself.

Because he no longer trusted anyone else with it.

Outside, the night had grown darker…

And along with the darkness…

the mystery of this case was deepening even further.

Vikram could see the truth in Faizan's eyes.

But one question kept echoing in his mind —

If Faizan was telling the truth…

then who was behind such a massive conspiracy… and why?

What do you think, what is the real truth, and what will happen next?
