Chapter 194 - We Can

Chapter 194: Can We Create Soul Spirits? Electrolux: We Can

The frigid air surrounding the cold pond vibrated violently, fractured by the sheer force of Du Busi's booming laughter.

He stared at Liu Yuan, his eyes blazing with a wild, unrestrained determination. With a sweeping wave of his massive hand, thick torrents of emerald-green soul power erupted from his core, spiraling around his imposing physique like a localized hurricane.

"Let's go! Since the target is set, your master will take you there right this instant." Du Busi's voice echoed across the water, heavy with absolute confidence. "Although the Shadow-Piercing Beast is an exceedingly rare breed, with me leading the way, I will drag one out of the shadows for you!"

Without wasting another breath, Du Busi lunged forward, his large hand reaching out to haul Liu Yuan into the sky.

"Master, wait a moment."

Liu Yuan raised a hand, his posture relaxed, his expression perfectly composed. He didn't flinch against the oppressive winds generated by the sect master's aura.

"I recall Senior Brother Ao Tian breaking through to Rank 59 two months ago," Liu Yuan said, his tone measured and analytical. ", he recently absorbed that hundred-thousand-year power-type left arm bone. The sheer volume of energy within that artifact means he should be sitting right at the critical threshold of a breakthrough."

He met Du Busi's gaze. "If my calculations are correct, he will reach perfection within days. Why don't we wait for him? It would be far more efficient for the three of us—master and disciples—to travel together. We can look out for one another in the deeper zones."

Hearing this, Du Busi's hasty movements ground to a halt. The swirling emerald storm around him settled.

He stroked his chin, pondering the logic. A flash of sharp contemplation crossed his own emerald-green double pupils before he gave a slow, approving nod.

"You are incredibly thorough in your considerations, brat," Du Busi chuckled, the wildness in his eyes tempering into deep pride. "I know Long Aotian's temperament better than anyone. With you constantly spurring him on and setting new records, his pride definitely won't allow him to dawdle. Fine. We will wait for him."

Du Busi stepped forward and clapped a heavy hand onto Liu Yuan's shoulder, the impact echoing like a struck drum. "Two supreme cores rising to power at the exact same time... this is a glorious sight my Body Sect hasn't witnessed in a hundred years. Stabilize your realm first."

With a final nod, Du Busi's massive figure flickered. He dissolved into a streak of blinding green light, tearing through the air as he returned to the main hall.

Liu Yuan watched the fading trail of light, his eyelids lowering slightly. A deep, calculating gleam shifted within his purple-gold double pupils.

He sat cross-legged on the frosted earth once more. However, instead of circulating his soul power to cultivate, he closed his eyes and sank his consciousness deep into the abyss of his Spiritual Sea.

Within that vast, boundless ocean of purple-gold spiritual energy, a single sphere of pure, unblemished gray light floated in absolute silence.

'Elder Yi, are you awake?' Liu Yuan called out, his mental voice rippling across the golden waters.

The gray sphere vibrated in response. Slowly, the light expanded and morphed, coalescing into the aged, kind, and ethereal figure of Electrolux.

After a prolonged period of quiet nurturing within Liu Yuan's Spiritual Sea, the former Calamity of the Undead was still a fraction of his former glory, but his divine soul had stabilized significantly. The translucent edges of his form no longer flickered with the threat of dissipation.

"Child, have you come to seek my counsel regarding your sixth soul ring?" Electrolux stroked his long, illusory beard. A warm smile crinkled the corners of his eyes, brimming with deep approval. He had silently observed every ounce of Liu Yuan's ruthless progress and careful planning over the past weeks.

Liu Yuan nodded, his mental projection standing firm before the ancient mage. "Exactly. But more than that, Elder Yi, I have been analyzing a fundamental flaw regarding the relationship between Soul Masters and Soul Beasts."

He paced slowly across the surface of his Spiritual Sea. "Under the current laws of this world, for a Soul Master to advance, they must slaughter Soul Beasts, forcibly stripping them of their souls and soul power to condense a soul ring. While this method is brutally direct, it is a dead end. It is too destructive for the Soul Beast population., once the beast is dead, the manifestation of its innate abilities relies entirely on the Soul Master's own limited comprehension. This inevitably bottlenecks the true potential of the skill."

Electrolux's gentle expression shifted, his ancient eyes narrowing with sudden, intense focus. "What exactly are you proposing, child?"

Liu Yuan stopped pacing. His gaze turned razor-sharp, filled with the pragmatic ambition of a transmigrator who refused to be bound by archaic rules. "I was wondering if we could use your supreme mastery over the Soul Law to completely rewrite this 'killing the goose for the golden egg' system."

He pointed toward the gray orb. "I want to attempt transforming a living Soul Beast into an entirely different state of existence. We discard the decaying physical body and merge its essence with me in the form of a pure soul body."

Liu Yuan's voice grew heavier, outlining his vision. "In this state, the Soul Beast would retain its original intelligence, its instincts, and its lifetime of combat experience. When I need to activate a Soul Skill, the beast itself can autonomously control the complex release of that ability, fueled by my soul power supply. Not only would the execution be flawlessly improved and far more powerful, but it would also allow for absolute spiritual resonance between us."

Electrolux fell into a deep, heavy silence.

Within his ethereal eyes—eyes that had witnessed the rise and fall of empires, the crossing of life and death—countless complex, gray soul runes began to spin and evolve at terrifying speeds. He was running millions of magical calculations in the span of a breath.

"Retaining the original intelligence... transforming mortal flesh into pure spirit... anchoring the entity within a host's Spiritual Sea..." Electrolux murmured softly, his voice trembling slightly.

Suddenly, a blinding, searching light erupted from his eyes.

"Magnificent!" Electrolux threw his head back, a rare surge of excitement breaking his usual calm. "Although this concept borders on the impossible for ordinary men, it is entirely, logically feasible within the absolute framework of my Soul Law!"

He looked at Liu Yuan, his gaze burning. "This is no longer a mere theft of power, child. This is the forging of an equal, binding contract. If you succeed in this endeavor, you will not just gain a soul ring—you will tear open an entirely new path of cultivation for this entire world."

Liu Yuan did not utter the specific term 'Soul Spirit' aloud, but he knew perfectly well that this contract-based evolution was the exact key needed to permanently alter the continent's balance of power. He wanted the absolute best for his Double Pupils, and a fully sentient, perfectly synchronized sixth ring was the answer.

"Elder Yi, what is the risk factor for this procedure?" Liu Yuan asked, his tone remaining strictly pragmatic.

Electrolux laughed heartily, the sound echoing like ancient chimes across the golden sea. "With me personally overseeing the ritual, a soul transformation of this caliber is merely a matter of precise execution. As long as the target Soul Beast is either entirely willing, or forced into absolute submission under extreme, crushing suppression, I am entirely confident I can bind its soul to your side in this new form."

The ancient mage smiled. "It just so happens you are hunting for your sixth soul ring. We shall use this 'Shadow-Piercing Beast' as our very first test subject."

"Excellent. I will leave the structural preparations to you, Elder Yi," Liu Yuan bowed respectfully before his consciousness faded from the Spiritual Sea.

For the next month, the back mountains of the Body Sect remained deceptively peaceful. Yet, beneath that tranquil surface, a violent storm was brewing.

Early one morning, a heaven-shaking boom erupted from the direction of the main hall's side courtyard. The sheer acoustic force shattered the morning mist. Immediately after, a massive, dark-gold pillar of light violently pierced the sky, tearing upward from the ground. The surrounding space warped and groaned—the physical manifestation of ultimate strength vibrating against the fabric of reality.

Long Aotian had finally broken through.

Liu Yuan and Du Busi materialized outside Long Aotian's reinforced secret chamber at almost the exact same second.

The heavy stone doors ground open. When Long Aotian stepped out, his already towering, strong frame seemed to have grown even denser. complex, dark-gold patterns flowed like liquid metal beneath the skin of his left arm, radiating a terrifying, crushing pressure. Below the world of a Soul Saint, in terms of raw physical strength alone, it was highly probable that absolutely no one on the continent could match him in a direct clash.

"Senior Brother, congratulations on reaching the next threshold," Liu Yuan stepped forward, a faint, genuine smile on his lips.

Long Aotian locked eyes with Liu Yuan. The raging battle intent in his gaze hadn't fully subsided, but it quickly softened into the silent, ironclad mutual respect shared only between true martial brothers.

"Junior Brother, I apologize for keeping you waiting," Long Aotian said, his voice a deep, resonant rumble. He clenched his left fist, the air popping around his knuckles. "Rank 60. I've finally caught up to the starting line."

Du Busi strode forward, his booming laughter echoing off the courtyard walls as he threw a massive arm around each of their shoulders, pulling them in. "Good! Excellent! What I am leading out of these gates today are the twin pillars of the Body Sect's future!"

The sect master's eyes gleamed with dangerous anticipation. "Since everyone is fully prepared, we won't waste a single second. Long Aotian, your target is a pinnacle power-type vicious beast lurking deep within the core zones of the Star Dou Great Forest. Liu Yuan, your target is the Shadow-Piercing Beast. Let's move!"

Without another word, Du Busi's soul power detonated. He transformed into a terrifying, emerald-green comet.

Only this time, he seized one disciple in each hand, launching himself straight into the stratosphere. He tore through the clouds at maximum velocity, the sheer speed generating a sonic boom that shattered the air behind them. From their vantage point, the sprawling mountains, rivers, and cities below blurred into meaningless streaks of color.

For nearly two days, they flew without rest. Gradually, the crisp mountain air shifted, becoming thick, humid, and suffocatingly heavy with a primordial, ancient aura.

On the distant horizon, a boundless sea of emerald-green foliage appeared, stretching infinitely until it merged with the sky. The massive canopy rose and fell like the breathing chest of a slumbering, ancient leviathan lying across the continent.

They had arrived at the Star Dou Great Forest.

Du Busi descended rapidly, landing with a heavy thud on a high, rocky ridge overlooking the edge of the endless forest sea. He immediately retracted his overwhelming soul power, his emerald eyes sweeping over the dense, lightless jungle below. For the first time since they left, a rare trace of absolute solemnity hardened his features.

"You both know the rules of this place," Du Busi warned, his voice dropping to a low, serious register. "The deeper we go, the worse the tempers of those ancient, dormant freaks become. We do not provoke what we do not need to fight."

He glanced between the two youths. "Ao Tian, your target is relatively straightforward to track. But Liu Yuan, your Shadow-Piercing Beast is a nightmare to hunt. It despises the light, preferring to slither through the microscopic cracks between physical shadows and the void realm. From this point forward, we must proceed with absolute caution."

Behind Liu Yuan's back, the Amethyst Giant Wings unfurled with a crisp snap, the crystalline feathers catching the dim light. The purple-gold divine light within his double pupils flared to life, piercing through the gloom.

He stared down into the primeval abyss of the forest—a darkness so thick it seemed to swallow the sunlight itself.

"Understood," Liu Yuan said softly, his voice cool and steady. "Let's go. My sixth soul ring is waiting in the dark."

Without hesitation, the three figures leaped from the ridge, plummeting downward and vanishing completely into the deep, suffocating maw of the Star Dou Great Forest.
