Chapter 105: Let Electrolux Come With Me
Hearing Du Busi's matter-of-fact response, an unfamiliar warmth settled deep within Liu Yuan's chest.
He knew exactly where he stood. As the absolute core of the Heavenly Soul Imperial Academy, his status was paramount. Yet, the person he intended to approach was Huo Yuhao—a core member of the rival Shrek Academy.
In this current climate, where the competition for resources burned white-hot and their respective factions stood on the brink of open hostility, sectarian bias should have dictated every action. Instead, Du Busi, the Master of the Body Sect, did not utter a single word of reprimand. To ensure his disciple's absolute safety, the old man proactively offered to stand guard against Shrek's heavyweights.
In a Soul Master world dictated entirely by cold, hard benefits, this unreserved trust and fierce protectiveness struck a chord within Liu Yuan.
"Master, thank you." Liu Yuan turned. He bowed solemnly, executing the formal etiquette of a disciple to his master. His tone carried an unmatched sincerity.
Du Busi merely waved his large hand dismissively. A rare, gratified smirk tugged at the corners of his arrogant, weathered face.
"What are you thanking me for? I am your Master. Protecting my own disciple is the most natural thing in the world. Go do whatever you want. As long as I am standing here breathing, that old dog Elder Xuan won't touch a single hair on your head. Let's go. Don't let those brats get too far away."
Flanked by Du Busi, Liu Yuan moved swiftly through the night, intercepting the Shrek Academy delegation at the far end of the street.
The atmosphere among the Shrek group was suffocatingly grim. Having just lost the bidding war for the Gold of Life, a heavy cloud of defeat hung over them. Elder Xuan trudged at the forefront, muttering curses under his breath. Behind him, Huo Yuhao walked with his head bowed, his eyes vacant, trapped in an agonizing trance.
"Huo Yuhao. Please wait a moment. I have something important to discuss with you."
Liu Yuan's voice cut through the quiet street, crisp and unhurried.
The Shrek delegation froze. The moment Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, and the others registered the approaching figures of Liu Yuan and Du Busi, their stances shifted into defensive vigilance. Hostility flashed in their eyes.
Elder Xuan spun around abruptly. Under the dim, flickering glow of the Soul Tool streetlights, his wrinkled face twisted into a ferocious scowl.
He glared at Liu Yuan, his tone dripping with venom. "Liu Yuan! You are now the prized treasure of the Body Sect. Why aren't you sitting in your VIP suite? Running over here to bother people from Shrek... I don't believe we have anything to say to each other!"
Liu Yuan did not even spare the old man a glance. He completely ignored Elder Xuan's provocation, keeping his dark, deep gaze locked entirely on Huo Yuhao.
Before Liu Yuan even needed to open his mouth, Du Busi stepped forward.
The terrifying pressure of a Level 98 Super Douluo erupted like a tidal wave crashing against a fragile shore. The sheer weight of his aura forcefully slammed into Elder Xuan, violently suppressing the Shrek elder's momentum.
"What?" Du Busi crossed his massive arms over his chest, a mocking sneer plastered across his face. "Elder Xuan, my disciple hasn't even spoken a word yet. What are you barking about?"
He took another step, his voice booming down the street. "Your Shrek loves to parade around claiming to be the number one academy on the continent. But ultimately, it is just an academy. It isn't some evil sect that restricts personal freedom, is it?"
Du Busi's sneer deepened into open contempt. "Who a student chooses to associate with, or who they wish to speak to, is their own damn business. What the hell does that have to do with you, their team leader? You want to control heaven and earth, but do you seriously think you can dictate who people make friends with?"
"You—!" Elder Xuan's entire body trembled with rage. He raised a shaking finger, pointing it at Du Busi, his face flushed a dangerous shade of purple. Yet, his mouth opened and closed silently. He could not find a single logical reason to retort.
Taking a ragged, deep breath, Elder Xuan forcefully swallowed the boiling anger in his chest. He snapped his head toward Huo Yuhao, his eyes wide and bloodshot, his tone taking on a sickly, interrogative edge.
"Huo Yuhao! I am asking you right now. Are you going to leave with this person from the Body Sect? Are you going to betray the academy's stance?!"
Huo Yuhao stood frozen, his mind a chaotic storm of extreme anxiety.
Deep within his Spiritual Sea, the fading presence of Electrolux twisted his heart like a physical knife wound. He had just watched, helpless, as Liu Yuan won the auction for that fierce carving knife—the very item containing the massive reservoir of life energy needed to save his teacher.
A desperate, fragile glimmer of hope burned in his chest. He needed to know if he could negotiate with Liu Yuan. Whether through an exchange of secrets, resources, or sheer begging, he had to secure that Gold of Life to save Elder Electrolux.
"Elder Xuan..." Huo Yuhao began, his voice low and strained. Though he sounded physically weak, a stubborn persistence anchored his words. "I want to hear what he has to say."
That single sentence acted like a spark hitting a powder keg.
Elder Xuan exploded. He swung his greasy sleeve violently through the air, letting out a furious, spittle-flecked roar.
"Good! Very good! What a spectacular, ungrateful wretch! Shrek exhausted its precious resources to cultivate you, and yet you still choose to collude with outsiders at a time like this! Since you want to go so badly, then go! I wash my hands of you! I don't care anymore!"
Without waiting for a response, Elder Xuan spun on his heel and stormed off into the night. He did not look back. Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, and the rest of the team exchanged conflicted, helpless glances, but ultimately hurried after their furious elder.
Not a single one of them stayed behind. They left their reserve team member standing completely alone on the cold, empty street.
Watching the pathetic display, Du Busi let out a derisive snort. He exchanged a knowing look with Liu Yuan. A second later, the Super Douluo's massive figure blurred, melting effortlessly into the dark shadows of a nearby rooftop. He would continue to monitor Shrek's trajectory from the high ground.
The street fell dead silent. Only Liu Yuan and Huo Yuhao remained.
Liu Yuan studied the dejected, abandoned youth standing before him. Deep within Liu Yuan's eyes, the dark purple light of his Double Pupils began to flicker with an ancient, heavy rhythm.
"Follow me. This is not the place to talk."
Liu Yuan turned and led Huo Yuhao away from the main thoroughfare, handling through the shadows until they reached a quiet, secluded alleyway. The ambient noise of the city faded into a muffled hum.
Once they came to a halt, Huo Yuhao could no longer contain himself. He spoke first, his tone bleeding with poorly concealed urgency. "Liu Yuan, what exactly do you want with me? Why are you acting so mysterious?"
Liu Yuan turned to face him. His expression remained as placid as a still lake. He did not bother with pleasantries, cutting straight to the absolute core of the matter.
"Huo Yuhao, I sought you out tonight because of my Double Pupils."
Huo Yuhao frowned, confusion mingling with his anxiety.
"You likely do not comprehend the true extent of my visual prowess," Liu Yuan continued, his voice smooth and measured. "My eyes have always possessed a unique trait. They can pierce through the superficial layers of reality and gaze directly upon the Origin of all things in this world."
Liu Yuan took a slow, deliberate step forward. The distance between them closed. When he spoke again, his voice dropped to a low murmur, yet every single syllable struck Huo Yuhao's ears like a deafening thunderclap.
"So, the truth is... a long time ago, during the very first moment we crossed paths, I already saw it. Deep within your Spiritual Sea, two very distinct, incredibly powerful soul entities are coiled together."
Huo Yuhao's pupils contracted to the size of pinpricks.
His entire body locked up, turning as rigid as a stone statue. The blood drained from his face, and for a terrifying second, even his lungs forgot how to draw breath.
Liu Yuan did not pause to let the boy recover. He pressed the advantage, his tone clinical and absolute.
"One of them radiates an aura of extreme, absolute frost. It shares an incredibly high degree of fusion with your current Martial Soul, manifesting in a deep, icy blue. Judging by the density, it should be the soul of some top-tier Soul Beast."
Liu Yuan paused. The dark purple light in his Double Pupils deepened, swirling like a pair of endless abysses.
"And the other..."
Huo Yuhao's heart hammered frantically against his ribs.
"The other is a cluster of extremely ancient, fragile spiritual Origin. It is pure black. Worse still, I can clearly sense that its current condition is disastrous. That lingering power of death and purification is constantly withering away. If it does not receive a massive influx of life Origin to replenish its core, I am afraid he will completely dissipate before the month is over."
A violent shudder wracked Huo Yuhao's frame. His mind went entirely blank, a ringing static drowning out his thoughts.
He had never breathed a word about the existence of the Skydream Iceworm or Electrolux to a single living soul. Even Elder Xuan and the unfathomable Elder Mu had failed to peer into the hidden depths of his Spiritual Sea.
Yet now, the youth standing casually in this dark alleyway had just laid bare his absolute greatest secrets.
Huo Yuhao wanted to deny it. He wanted to shout that Liu Yuan was crazy. But the words died in his throat. He could not offer a single syllable of rebuttal because Liu Yuan's description was terrifyingly precise. The colors, the auras, and most damning of all—Electrolux's current, rapidly deteriorating state. It was all exactly as he said.
"You... are your eyes actually special to this extent?" Huo Yuhao choked out, his voice hoarse and trembling from the sheer magnitude of his shock.
As a fellow possessor of the Spirit Eyes Martial Soul, Huo Yuhao had always assumed his visual prowess was somewhat comparable to Liu Yuan's Double Pupils. Now, standing stripped bare beneath that purple gaze, he realized the gap between them was an impossible chasm.
The terrifying sensation of being completely, utterly seen through caused Huo Yuhao's internal assessment of Liu Yuan to skyrocket to a monstrous new height.
Swallowing hard, Huo Yuhao forced his trembling jaw to steady. "So... what do you want to do?"
Liu Yuan's voice rang out again, calm, pragmatic, and devoid of malice.
"My meaning is simple. If he stays with you, he will dissipate very soon. You possess absolutely no means to sustain his survival. Since his death is a guaranteed outcome under your care, it is better for me to step in and play the good guy."
Liu Yuan held Huo Yuhao's gaze, his tone carrying the weight of an absolute promise.
"I have the Gold of Life. I can help him."
He let the words hang in the cool night air for a moment before delivering his final piece.
"Therefore, I am making you a formal proposal. I hope you consider it with the utmost care. If you are willing to let him come with me, my Body Sect will provide you with substantial compensation."
