Chapter 11: Using Ultear
Hearing that he was banned from coming near the guild for three months, Laxus's face immediately turned pale.
But in Yumesaki's view, this punishment was already extremely light.
It was worth noting that in the original storyline, Laxus was directly expelled from Fairy Tail. If he hadn't made major contributions later on, he might not have been able to return for the rest of his life.
So Makarov had truly been merciful.
However, Laxus himself didn't seem to think so.
"Don't joke around." After Laxus crawled up from the floor, he became furious, the look in his eyes directed at Makarov as if they could spit fire, "You want to kick me out of the guild?"
"Not kicking you out, but banning you from coming near this place for three months."
"What's the difference between that and kicking me out?" Laxus shouted loudly.
Makarov fell silent, a deep sense of disappointment appearing in his eyes, "Do you really think so, Laxus?"
Laxus, seeing his grandfather's gaze, felt as if a heavy stone was pressing down on his chest.
His mouth moved a few times, but not a single word could come out.
After a moment, he snorted coldly, then turned around and left.
Makarov stared at Laxus's receding back, his short body swaying a few times, almost falling to the floor.
Fortunately, Erza moved quickly and immediately caught him.
"Master, are you all right?"
Makarov shook his head, "I'm fine," while gently pushing Erza away, "I'll go back to rest for a while, you guys handle the remaining matters among yourselves."
Erza felt a bit worried and wanted to follow him, but right at that moment, a hand held her back.
It was Mirajane.
She shook her head at Erza, "Leave the Master alone for a while."
Erza had no other choice, she could only stop her steps and watch Makarov leave with her eyes.
The guild, which was originally very lively, became awkward because of this incident. Everyone looked at each other, feeling lost for a moment, and then one by one found an excuse to leave.
Not long after, only Yumesaki, Erza, Mirajane, Lucy, Natsu, Happy, and Gray were left in the entire guild.
"Are you all right?" Lucy asked cautiously.
Today's incident happened way too suddenly, giving her the feeling as if the guild could disband at any moment.
"It's fine, don't worry." Mirajane gave a small smile, reassesuring Lucy, "All of this is just temporary, tomorrow everyone will return to normal."
"Really?" Lucy was somewhat skeptical.
But when the next day arrived, when Lucy stepped back into the Fairy Tail guild, she found most of the people gathered together chatting, playing cards, those who needed to mingle kept mingling, and those who needed to take on missions kept taking on missions.
It was as if everything that happened yesterday was merely an illusion.
"Ah, this..." This left Lucy dumbfounded, she couldn't help but look for Yumesaki to comment, "Does this make sense? Is this even normal?"
Yumesaki smiled while sliding a glass of cold drink to her, then said: "It might not make sense and it might not be normal, but it's very typical of Fairy Tail, isn't it?"
Lucy fell silent, then gave a wry smile, "Alright, it really is very typical of Fairy Tail."
Then she took the cold drink and began to sip it.
"Lucy."
Right at this moment, Natsu suddenly ran over, a mission sheet still held in his hand, "Let's go do this mission together, Lucy."
"Huh, why should I go on this mission with you?"
Lucy was somewhat unwilling, because during these past few days of interaction, she found out that Natsu was notoriously unreliable, plus he was a hot-blooded idiot. Once his emotions flared up, he wouldn't care about anything anymore.
Most of the money earned was used to pay for property damage, and sometimes the losses were even greater than the profits.
If possible, she really didn't want to form a team with Natsu.
But Natsu didn't give Lucy a chance to refuse, he immediately pulled Lucy and ran fast outside.
In the blink of an eye, they had vanished from Yumesaki's line of sight.
"Oh, youth sure is nice." Yumesaki couldn't help but murmur.
Mirajane's laughter rang out, "You sound as if you yourself aren't a young person."
"I was just muttering to myself." Yumesaki's facial expression didn't change, he asked Mirajane, "Have you thought of a way to deal with Jose?"
Mirajane shook her head, "Not at all."
Or rather, she hadn't thought about it in detail at all, intending to leave this matter to the Master and Erza to solve.
Not long after, Erza came over.
When Yumesaki asked if she had thought of a way to deal with Jose, Erza shook her head firmly, then said loudly:
"Not at all."
"If you haven't, you haven't, why do you say it so proudly?" Yumesaki was lost for words.
Erza said: "Although I haven't thought of a way to deal with Jose, I have already thought of a way to deal with Ultear."
"Huh?" Yumesaki of course knew who Ultear was, but he didn't understand why Erza ignored the threat right before their eyes and chose to deal with Ultear first instead.
Erza said with full justification: "Because last night after thinking all night, I still didn't understand how to handle the Phantom Lord matter, but as a result, I suddenly thought of a way to handle the Ultear matter."
"Therefore, I plan to deal with Ultear first, and then use the Magic Council to restrain Phantom Lord."
Yumesaki: "Ah, this..."
Was this a strategy of besieging Wei to rescue Zhao, diverting attention, or executing a secret maneuver?
Could she actually be a genius?
Yumesaki asked full of curiosity: "Then how do you plan to handle the Ultear matter?"
Erza said: "The reason why Ultear joined Grimoire Heart is entirely because of a misunderstanding. What I need to do now is clear up this misunderstanding."
"So..."
"So I plan to find Ultear, and then state the entire truth right in front of her face." Erza said.
Yumesaki: "...It's not impossible, but are you sure Ultear will listen to you? The current her is filled with hatred and anger, she isn't the type of person who is easily convinced."
"It's fine, I will convince her." Erza clenched her fist tightly.
If she couldn't convince her with words, then she would convince her with fists.
It really is you, Erza.
Yumesaki let out a sigh and then said: "I'll go with you."
Erza was stunned for a moment, then looked at Yumesaki with a gaze full of gratitude, she said in a low voice: "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
The two of them then set out, and arrived at the Magic Council.
The current Ultear, using whatever method she did, had infiltrated the Magic Council and had even become one of the council members.
Hearing that Titania Erza Scarlet from the Fairy Tail guild came looking for her, she felt rather surprised.
She didn't seem to have any connection with the members of that guild.
Except for Gray.
Thinking of that man, Ultear's gaze turned gloomy.
Driven by curiosity, after adjusting her condition well, she received Erza and Yumesaki's arrival in a side drawing room.
"This really is a rare guest, Miss Erza Scarlet, I didn't expect you would actually come looking for me."
Ultear sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, looking at Erza with a faint smile, then her gaze shifted toward Yumesaki.
"Oh, by the way, is this gentleman also a member of your guild?"
Yumesaki nodded, "I am Yumesaki, a member who just recently joined Fairy Tail, and there is one thing I want to remind you about."
"What?" Ultear said with an indifferent attitude.
Yumesaki pointed at her crossed legs and said, "Sitting like that can easily cause anterior pelvic tilt, it's not good for your lower spine."
Ultear: "..."
At this moment, she felt as if a few crows were flying over her head while crying out idiot, idiot.
Facts proved that when a person is completely speechless, they will truly fall silent.
"Is there no one dependable among the entire membership of your guild?"
She ignored Yumesaki, and shifted all her attention to Erza.
Erza said: "You have been deceived."
"Huh?" Ultear showed a confused expression on her face, completely not understanding what Erza was talking about. What is the meaning of I have been deceived, what was I deceived about, why don't I know?
"Ur never abandoned you, it was Brain who deceived you."
Erza directly dropped the main point without beating around the bush.
Hearing the two names Ur and Brain, Ultear instantly realized that her identity had been exposed.
The expression on her entire face instantly changed, from the original indifference to being filled with killing intent.
She suppressed the urge to attack with all her might. This place was the Magic Council, once they acted openly it would harm her future plans, and besides, whether she could escape or not was still a question.
Erza didn't care about Ultear's vicious gaze, she continued her words: "Since birth, you possessed an immense amount of magic power, but your tiny body was unable to withstand that magic power. Ur, who was deeply worried about you, intended to cure you, which is why she handed you over to the head of the research institute, Brain."
"Brain has secretly been conducting child trafficking all this time, which is why he lied to your mother, giving Ur the news that you had passed away."
"Ur, who believed it, felt deeply grieved, to the point that she eventually adopted two disciples to pour her longing for you into them."
"After that, Brain sold you to Grimoire Heart."
Ultear, from being initially shocked to finally falling silent, her whole self gradually calmed down again.
She stared sharply at Erza, and a cold smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
"Although I don't know from where you learned these things, do you think I will believe your words?"
"I think you will believe it, after all, it is known by many people that Titania Erza never lowers herself to lie, right? Miss Ultear."
Yumesaki spoke up at the right time.
Ultear said in a cold voice: "Erza might not lie, but that doesn't mean what she says is the truth. For something that happened so long ago, how could she know about it?"
"Yumesaki told me." Erza pointed toward Yumesaki.
Ultear turned her head to look at Yumesaki, "You? Who exactly are you?"
Yumesaki said: "A person from another world."
"Huh, do you think I look like an idiot?" Ultear sneered. The matter of being a person from another world or not, she didn't believe such nonsense at all.
Yumesaki, seeing the situation, was forced to reveal the story of how she brainwashed Jellal when he was a child, manipulated Jellal, as well as the fact that the Tower of Heaven was about to be completed.
Included in that was how she and Jellal planned to trick the Magic Council into having the Magic Council fire Etherion.
"Now you should believe it, Miss Ultear."
