Chapter 26: Can I Hit Him?
Zeff eventually left, but only because Sanji guaranteed he wouldn't bother the customers.
Of course, the moment Zeff was gone, Sanji started bothering them... well, "bothering" might be the wrong word. It was more like he was giving Robin an overwhelming amount of attention. His eyes were practically glued to her.
He was, without a doubt, the "perverted kappa" that Zoro always called him; the moment he saw a beautiful woman, he simply couldn't move. How he developed such a habit was a mystery.
As for Robin, she wasn't actually annoyed by the excessive attention. Having seen the "plot," she knew that while Sanji was a pervert, it was mostly just talk. In the actual story, he never truly took advantage of women. He was a genuine, if eccentric, gentleman.
Toward a man like this, Robin wasn't stingy with a few smiles. She ordered several dishes with a sweet grin that left Sanji completely dazed. He patted his chest, promising the best meal of her life, and hurried off to the kitchen.
Watching this, Yumesaki couldn't help but complain, "I feel like this guy is going to die at the hands of a woman sooner or later."
Robin smiled thinly but didn't comment. She also felt that Sanji was far too soft on women, which would inevitably lead to trouble. After all, there were plenty of wicked women in this world—her past self included.
"Speaking of which, how does it feel to meet your future crewmate?" Yumesaki asked, looking at Robin with curiosity.
"He seems like a good person. But as for whether we become crewmates or not, that depends on destiny."
Robin didn't necessarily assume she would join the Straw Hat Pirates. While the life in the original story was exciting and full of great friends, her current goal was helping the Revolutionary Army save the world. Joining Luffy to go on a grand adventure was no longer her only path. So, her future with Sanji was up to fate.
Seeing her calm expression, Yumesaki shrugged and changed the subject.
About half an hour later, the dishes were served personally by Sanji. Yumesaki picked up a spoon and dug into the Seafood Risotto. Robin gracefully cut a piece of fish steak and took a bite. Only Hashirama sat there, ignoring the feast spread across the table.
This caught Sanji by surprise. "Aren't you going to eat?"
Don't tell me this guy thinks my cooking is bad? Sanji thought. That's impossible. To impress the beautiful blonde woman, he had poured his entire soul into these dishes.
Yes, Robin was still using the Transformation Technique, maintaining the appearance of Tsunade. To everyone else, she was a stunning blonde beauty.
Hashirama didn't know what Sanji was thinking, but hearing the question, he shook his head. "Thanks, but I'm not hungry."
That was the honest truth. An Edo Tensei body couldn't taste anything and never felt hunger. Eating would just be a waste of good ingredients.
What a weirdo, Sanji muttered to himself. He turned his attention back to Robin, his body undulating and waving like a noodle in a way that was honestly a bit disturbing.
"Lady Tsunade, how do you find the flavor of the food today?"
Indeed, Robin hadn't just borrowed Tsunade's looks; she had borrowed her name as well. The reputation of the "Demon Child" was still too high. Using her real name would invite unnecessary trouble and misunderstandings. Since the real Tsunade wasn't in this world, Robin used the identity without any mental burden.
Tsunade: ???
"It's delicious," Robin praised. As a woman who had traveled the world, she genuinely found the food at the Baratie to be top-tier. It was easily in her top five favorite meals.
Hearing this, Sanji's body began to spin and twist even faster, becoming increasingly bizarre. Yumesaki looked at him for a second before quickly looking away, focusing intently on his risotto. He was legitimately afraid he might throw up if he kept watching.
How could a human being wiggle that way? It hadn't seemed so gross in the manga. Clearly, there was a difference between 2D and 3D.
That said, while Sanji's behavior was questionable, his cooking skills were undeniable. The Seafood Risotto was so delicious it gave Yumesaki the sensation of being at sea. It was as if all the flavors of the ocean had been concentrated into this one dish. Of course, it was just an illusion.
After eating about a fifth of it, Yumesaki found he couldn't take another bite. Part of it was because the nutrition in this world's food was incredibly dense, and the other part was because the people of this world were just too "honest." The plate of risotto was the size of a washbasin. Who could possibly finish that?
"I'll leave the rest to you."
Having no other choice, Yumesaki handed the remains of his risotto to Robin. Ever since she started mastering Chakra extraction, Robin spent three hours every day squeezing energy from her cells. She required a massive amount of nutrition to compensate.
As a result, her appetite had grown exponentially. One meal for her was equivalent to what a dozen people like Yumesaki would eat. Never mind one extra portion of risotto; she could have polished off several more.
"No problem." Robin finished her own dishes with elegance and then proceeded to clear Yumesaki's plate until it was spotless. Her stomach remained perfectly flat, as if it were a gateway to another dimension. The human body was truly a marvel.
The scene left Sanji feeling both shocked and disdainful. Shocked because a lady like Robin could eat so much, and disdainful because Yumesaki, a grown man, couldn't even finish one serving. The gap between them was pathetic.
Hey, now my blood pressure is rising.
Feeling Sanji's look of contempt, Yumesaki couldn't help but whisper to Robin, "Can I hit him?"
Sanji understood the sentiment. He slowly pulled out a cigarette and tucked it into the corner of his mouth, clicking his lighter. "I wouldn't recommend that," he said calmly. "Mostly because you probably couldn't beat me."
In this world, the experts who were good at fighting generally ate a lot because they needed massive amounts of energy for combat. Where did that energy come from? Food. As long as someone was a powerhouse, their appetite would dwarf everyone else's; eating a whole cow in one sitting wasn't even that strange.
So, Sanji truly looked down on Yumesaki. With a stomach that small, Sanji figured he could take on ten guys like Yumesaki with one hand tied behind his back.
Ten guys!
