Elena looked at the wall in a daze as she waited for it to speak again. "You stole me from my own world… and made me a villain in this world?" she asked again. What if she was kidding?
Silence answered her for a brief moment.
[Host should calm down. Everything happened for a reason.....]
Elena scoffed. "Reason?" she repeated in disbelief, her brows furrowing as irritation began to rise inside her. "What kind of reason is this?"
Her hand lifted as she pointed at herself again, frustration building with every second. "It's unfair!" she snapped. "Why me? Out of all the people in all the worlds, you chose me?"
She began pacing the room now, her movements restless, her mind refusing to settle. "I would have preferred to rest in peace! At least let me die properly instead of throwing me into this nonsense!"
She stopped abruptly and turned toward the mirror again. "And not just any life!" she pointed aggressively at her reflection, "you gave me THIS?!"
Her voice rose even higher, her patience seeming to have worn out.
"A villain! And not even a normal one, an ugly one!"
[Host is not ugly.]
"Don't defend it!" she shot back immediately. "You heard what I said! The body is perfect, but the face? Who designed this combination?!"
She threw her hands up dramatically.
"If you really wanted to rebirth me, couldn't you at least put me in a better position?"
She started counting on her fingers. "Like the pampered daughter of a vampire lord that everyone loves…"
Another finger. "The most beautiful and powerful witch that everyone respects…"
Another one. "Or even the beast king's princess that everyone is trying to please!"
She turned in a circle, looking around the luxurious room again before scoffing. It's a good idea! But what about the identity? "And you chose THIS mess?"
For a moment, the system went silent.
[Host's imagination is… impressive.]
Elena paused. "Are you mocking me?"
[No.]
But somehow… it sounded like it was. Elena's frown deepened.
[Cece's father is one of the most powerful Beast Lords in the entire realm. His wealth, authority, and influence surpass those of many rulers. As his only daughter, Cece possesses everything other women dream of.]
Elena folded her arms slowly as she listened to the explanation she had already known from Cece's memories, her expression unimpressed. "Really?"
[Yes.]
"Then why does everyone look like they want to kill me?" she mocked. Will the power of the body's owner solve the problem?
The system paused for some seconds, and that silence alone answered her question.
Elena nodded in understanding. "Exactly."
She turned away, completely unconvinced. "Rich? Powerful? What's the use when the entire world hates you?"
There's no way Cece won't have a good reputation… "What's her reputation?"
There was a brief pause before the system responded.
[Extremely negative.]
Elena closed her eyes. "Of course…." She knew there was no way she would go back to her real life, even if she went back, no one would care for her except Jacob and Sabestian… she loved Sabestian so much. Still, she couldn't be with him because of her greedy sister and mother… no, stepmother and sister! She didn't have any choice…
She let out a long breath, rubbing her forehead like she was already tired of this life she had just entered. "This is madness…"
[Host should not worry.]
Elena opened one eye. "Oh?"
[Host will regain her original face very soon.]
That made her freeze.
[Completely] the system added.
Her head snapped up. "Say that again."
[The herb used has no cure in this world.]
Her expression darkened, and she looked at the reflection again. "I knew it—" someone is actually messing with her…
[However, the system can provide the antidote.]
Elena sighed softly and sat on a huge multicolored precious stone that represented a chair. Her eyes narrowed. "Ahhhh."
Now she understood. "And let me guess," she said, though her tone carried clear suspicion, "it won't be free."
[Correct.]
Of course!!
[The antidote will be given as a reward upon completing system tasks.]
Tasks! tasks!! tasks!!! A chill ran down her spine. She had heard of systems like this before… she used to read them and would even pity the MC.
And they were NEVER simple.
"This is how it starts," she muttered under her breath.
[Host should cooperate for a smoother experience.]
Elena looked up again, her expression had changed to less chaotic and more cautious. "What is the first task?"
[First task: Complete the mating bond with the Supreme Alpha.]
"Ahhh, you… You want me to mate with a beast?" Then she froze. "Have you forgotten that I'm a human?" She shook her head and sighed, she almost forgot how the beast world works, but she only enjoyed it while reading, never thinking one day she would be the victim or be in the main character's shoes! She would even call them stupid and pledge she could—
Her brain replayed the newly absorbed memories of the original owner of the body…
She chose… no, she forced the poor werewolf king knowing he had the person he wished to be with, she manipulated the situation!!
She didn't even choose him because she loved him, she wanted him for stupid reasons.
Elena disliked the idea of following her footsteps, she even faked weakness to trap him.
Elena's lips slowly parted. "You've got to be kidding me…" she murmured in a daze. She pointed at herself again. "Me?"
Then pointed at the imaginary huge werewolf in her head, she had seen several pictures of them before and they are incredibly huge! huge dangerous beasts. "Him?"
Then back to herself, there's no way the latter won't be angry at what Cece did, how was she supposed to tame an angry beast?
That aside.
"And you want me to go and… what? Continue her nonsense??"
[It is the most efficient path.]
Elena laughed in disbelief, shaking her head. "Efficient?" she repeated. "Do you know what you're asking me to do?"
She placed her hand on her chest dramatically. "I just died saving children, and now you want me to go seduce someone that was forcefully stolen from another woman??"
She shook her head. "I refuse."
[Host cannot refuse main tasks.]
Elena was about to say something but stopped, arguing with the system would only add to her anger.
