Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten: The Choice Beyond Fate

Now we

There was no light.

No darkness.

No form.

Just… existence.

Kael felt himself standing—but there was nothing beneath his feet.

No weight.

No sound.

Then—

A voice.

"You stepped forward."

Kael turned.

The child stood before him—but now, it was clearer.

More defined.

Still small… but no longer distant.

Beside him, Amara appeared.

Calm.

Focused.

"We're inside it," she said quietly.

Kael frowned. "Inside… the child?"

Amara shook her head slightly.

"No."

A pause.

"We're inside its decision."

The space around them began to shift.

Not violently.

Not suddenly.

But slowly—

Like a story being rewritten.

Scenes formed around them.

Kael saw himself again—kneeling before the Vampire Council.

He saw Amara in the rain.

He saw Selene… smiling before everything changed.

But this time—

They didn't just appear.

They paused.

The child walked between them.

"These are your paths," it said.

Kael watched silently.

"You lived them," the child continued.

"But you did not understand them."

Amara stepped forward.

"Then let us."

The child looked at her.

Then—

Everything shifted again.

They were no longer watching.

They were inside the memory.

Memory One: The Bond

Rain poured heavily.

Kael stood in front of Amara—just like before.

But this time—

He could feel everything.

The hesitation.

The pull.

The fear of what she was… and what he was becoming.

Amara in the memory spoke:

"If you leave… everything tied to us will turn against you."

Kael flinched slightly.

"I remember this…"

The child's voice echoed:

"Not enough."

Suddenly—

The memory froze.

Amara (present) stepped forward… toward her past self.

"She wasn't threatening you," she said softly.

Kael looked at her.

"What do you mean?"

Amara's eyes lowered slightly.

"She was warning you."

The memory shifted—

Revealing something Kael never saw before.

A faint glow between them.

A thread.

Connecting their hearts.

Kael's eyes widened.

"That's the bond…"

Amara nodded.

"It wasn't just emotion."

The child spoke:

"It was balance."

The scene shattered.

Memory Two: The Separation

Now—

Selene.

She stood alone.

Watching Kael walk away from Amara.

But something was different.

Kael noticed it immediately.

"She was there?"

Amara turned.

"She saw everything."

Selene in the memory stepped forward slightly—

Her expression not sad.

Not angry.

But… aware.

The child's voice deepened.

"She was never случай."

Kael frowned.

"What does that mean?"

Amara answered quietly:

"It means she wasn't random."

The memory shifted again—

Deeper.

Hidden.

Selene's eyes flickered—

The same strange light from before.

Kael stepped back slightly.

"No… she knew from the beginning?"

The child confirmed:

"Yes."

The scene broke again.

Memory Three: The Truth of Selene

Now—

Everything went still.

Selene stood at the center.

But this time—

She wasn't human.

Her form flickered between shapes.

Light.

Shadow.

Something in between.

Kael's voice lowered.

"What… is she?"

The child answered:

"She is a vessel."

Silence.

"A vessel for what?" Kael asked.

The child looked directly at him.

"For me."

Everything stopped.

Amara's eyes widened slightly.

Even she didn't fully know that.

Kael shook his head.

"No… that's not possible."

The child stepped closer.

"When the bond was broken…"

A pause.

"…balance needed a new form."

Amara whispered:

"So she became it…"

The child nodded.

"And now… I am complete."

The space trembled.

Kael stepped forward, anger rising.

"So all of this… was planned?!"

The child didn't react emotionally.

"It was not planned."

A pause.

"It was necessary."

Kael clenched his fists.

"Necessary to destroy everything?!"

The child tilted its head.

"Destruction… is one outcome."

Amara stepped between them.

"And creation is another."

The child looked at her.

"Yes."

Amara's voice grew stronger.

"Then why choose alone?"

Silence.

The space around them began to shift again—

More unstable this time.

"Because you all failed to choose together," the child said.

That hit hard.

Kael looked at Amara.

Amara looked at Kael.

They both understood.

Kael spoke first.

"I chose to run."

Amara followed.

"I chose to hold on to the past."

The space calmed slightly.

The child watched.

"And Selene?" it asked.

A new presence appeared.

Selene.

Not transformed.

Not broken.

Just… her.

"I chose to carry what neither of you would face," she said.

Kael's expression softened slightly.

"Selene…"

She looked at him—not angry.

Just honest.

"You didn't ruin everything," she said.

A pause.

"You just left it unfinished."

Silence.

The three of them now stood together.

For the first time—

Not divided.

The child observed them.

Then asked:

"Then what do you choose now?"

The space held still.

Kael looked at Amara.

Then at Selene.

And said:

"We don't choose separately."

Amara nodded.

"We choose together."

Selene placed a hand over her stomach.

"And we accept what comes with it."

The child watched them closely.

Then—

For the first time—

It smiled.

"Accepted."

The space exploded into light.

Reality began to rebuild.

But this time—

Not from conflict.

From agreement.
