Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Control and Power

The three-month mark arrived quietly. .No announcement.

No celebration.

Just a page in the diary and another morning training session.

But the changes were no longer invisible.

The firagment martial soul could now remain stable during summoning.

He could feel its presence more clearly when he stood in the sword stance.

Wind sensitivity had also improved.

Not enough to look dramatic.

Enough to notice.

When the air moved through the forest edge, he could sense it more sharply than befiore. When he practiced Step and Slash in an open area, the

motion felt lighter than in a closed room. When he breathed deeply, there was a faint resonance between breath and control that had not been there

in the beginning.

This was the point where his training split into two systems.

One was power.

The other was control.

And fior the first time, he began to understand that both were necessary.

Power without control was waste.

Control without power was delay.

He had to build both together.

That evening, after school, Zhao Kai found him near the library entrance.

"You look different," Zhao Kai said.

Mo Chen glanced at him. "Training changes things."

Zhao Kai studied him fior a moment. "You're harder to read now."

"That is probably better."

Zhao Kai smirked. "Maybe."

There was no hostility in the words. Only recognition.

Nearby, Xiao Wu passed with several working students behind her, still carrying the same commanding energy as befiore. Tang San, calm as ever,

moved across the courtyard at a different pace entirely. Their paths remained separate, but the academy space made them overlap often enough fior

tension to remain alive.

Mo Chen saw all ofi it and said nothing. That was still his role.

Not to dominate the scene.

Not to interrupt it.

Only to observe it clearly.

Later that night, he opened the diary one more time and wrote the final summary ofi the three months.

Martial Soul Understanding and Control: improved.

Observation: stable.

Control testing: successful.

Stability during summoning: successful.

Wind attribute sensitivity: confirmed.

Spiritual power training: steady progress.

Total Concentration Breathing: workable.

Foundation Flow Sword Art: becoming natural.

Forest test: completed.

Control and power must develop together.

He paused, then added one last line.

Saturday fior spirit hunt. Sunday fior rest and family. This routine is enough fior now.

The diary closed.

Outside, Notting City was quiet.

Inside the small house, his mother was speaking softly about the next cloth order with Fengyuan City, and the sound was warm enough to make the

room feel less empty.

Mo Chen lay down at last and looked at the ceiling.

Three months had passed.

Nothing miraculous had happened.

But he was no longer the same boy who had entered the academy in silence.

And that, for now, was the real progress.

Three months passed without noise.

No grand breakthrough.

No sudden miracle.

No change that would make people turn their heads in the academy courtyard.

But when I looked back at the diary, the difference was impossible to ignore.

My soul power was no longer as thin and unstable as it had been on the day ofi awakening. It had become smoother, denser, easier to guide. I was still

not a genius in the way Tang San was, but I was no longer standing still.

I sat cross-legged in my room, palms resting on my knees, breathing slowly.

In.

Hold.

Out.

The spirit power inside my body moved along the rhythm more obediently now. perfectly, but enough to feel the improvement.

"Level 3 to nearly Level 4," I murmured.

It was slow.

But It was real.

That mattered more.

Then I opened the diary and turned to the pages I had filled during the last three months. The notes were neat, packed, and fiar more complete than

befiore. I had not just read the academy library.

I had studied it.

Halfi the books were already marked in my head.

My memory… had improved.

Not in some unbelievable way. But enough that I could remember pages, terms, plant diagrams, spirit beast traits, and training points with frightening clarity. It felt like the strong spritual power had sharpened my mind the same way it sharpened my senses.
