Chapter 73 - The Mysterious Origin of the Black Dragon Fleet

When Zachary Chase opened his eyes again, he had already arrived at the outer area of the Arctic Fox Starport, and in a few more minutes, the Arctic Fox Starport would be visible.

After the starship returned to normal navigation, Zachary immediately contacted the female manager with the code CC11.

"Sir, you're back?" The female manager covered her mouth, looking at Zachary with surprise in her eyes.

It had been less than five hours since this fleet left and returned.

"Am I not welcome?" Zachary teased.

"No… I… I didn't mean that… That… the battle on P331 Asteroid…" The female manager asked curiously, though this question actually violated the reception regulations; they were not allowed to inquire about guests' affairs. But because no detailed news about the P331 Asteroid had been sent back yet, or perhaps because her rank was not high enough to know, she was curious: what exactly did the 'Black Dragon Fleet' , which had accepted a bounty mission but returned so quickly, go and do?

"The matter has been settled," Zachary said indifferently.

The matter was settled? The simple answer made the female manager even more curious.

"Help me renew my original starship workshop for one month, and then I need the raw materials on this order; they must all be delivered to me within three days. A portion of them is for starship repairs, and according to the bounty mission, the hull damage and battle consumption from this battle are to be borne by the publisher; I have already listed this part separately." Zachary sent over a list of raw materials.

"This time, the one million star coins payment will be deducted from my bounty; for any insufficient amount, a sum of money should be deposited within a few days."

"Okay… Yes…" the female manager said.

The communication was cut off.

What on earth happened? The female manager was muttering to herself when a communication request came in, connecting directly without permission. This was an internal communication from the higher-ups.

The female manager immediately straightened her posture, surprised to see that the person on the other side of the video window was actually the general manager of the Arctic Fox Starport.

"You just received the Black Dragon Fleet, didn't you?" The general manager asked directly.

"Yes… Yes," the female manager replied.

"Did they make any requests?"

The female manager relayed Zachary's words from earlier.

"The one-month usage fee for the starship workshop will be waived for them. The raw material order will be arranged for them within one day. Additionally, the bounty and another sum of money will be deposited into this gentleman's account within twelve hours. You can send a text message to that gentleman." The general manager said seriously.

The female manager was surprised; what exactly was that gentleman's identity, to make the general manager of the Arctic Fox Starport personally inquire about this matter and even 'expedite processing' every single item?

"From now on, you are promoted to Deputy Director of the Arctic Fox Starport Reception Department. You can delegate other guests to others; now you will be solely responsible for this gentleman's Black Dragon Fleet. Any demands, as long as they are not excessive, try to meet them. If you cannot meet them, you can contact me." The general manager instructed.

"Deputy Director of the Reception Department?" The female manager felt dizzy; she had only been an ordinary starship reception manager before this, or to put it bluntly, a customer service representative. Now she had directly become the Deputy Director of the Reception Department, which was a promotion of several ranks.

"Thank… Thank… Thank you, sir." The female manager was stammering now.

The general manager said, "If you want to thank someone, thank your luck for meeting such a guest."

"Um… Sir… What exactly is the background of this Black Dragon Fleet that makes you treat them so seriously? Please give me some insight so I can be careful." The female manager asked cautiously.

"Their background is not yet clear, but they successfully completed the bounty mission and led the Imperial Army fleet to complete the safe evacuation plan for P331 Asteroid," the general manager said in a deep voice.

The female manager gasped. He actually completed a mission that many private fleets were unwilling to take. Although she had had such an idea before, from the general manager's wording, she could discern important information.

It was 'led the Imperial Army fleet' to complete the mission, not 'helped the Imperial Army fleet' or 'assisted the Imperial Army fleet.' Don't underestimate these three different words; their meanings are completely different. 'Assisted' would imply a younger brother helping an older brother. 'Helped' would imply a situation where both sides were evenly matched. And 'led' meant that the Black Dragon Fleet was the core of that battle, with the Imperial Army fleet assisting and cooperating alongside!

"Furthermore, an important figure has inquired about the Black Dragon Fleet's information, and he will soon visit our Arctic Fox Starport. That important figure is not someone we can offend; even our Lord of the Arctic Fox Galaxy would have to greet him with a smile and warm hospitality." The general manager said somewhat nervously.

Someone whom even the Lord of the Arctic Fox Galaxy had to treat with a smile? The Lord of the Arctic Fox Galaxy was a renowned Imperial Earl, and he even had hopes of being ennobled as a Marquis within the next ten years! Someone who could make such an Imperial Earl treat him with caution, and the Black Dragon Fleet was connected to such a figure.

The female manager swallowed hard.

"In any case, just treat this guest with care, and report any matters to me immediately," the general manager said, then the communication was cut off.

At this moment, the two starships of the Black Dragon Fleet had slowly entered the visible range of the Arctic Fox Starport and were being guided into the starship workshop berths.

The female manager pulled up the video feed, and she could see the two starships. One was an Aircraft Carrier Starship, primarily yellow in appearance, and the other was a starship whose type was uncertain. The latter was in a somewhat severe condition, with its entire bow indented, many crater-like holes on its hull as if it had been hit by meteorites, and a long, depressed streak several tens of meters long on its port side. This was actually the damage left when it grazed against the T2 Zerg Nest Mothership.

"What on earth did it go through?" the female manager muttered.

The two starships entered the workshop berths; the T2 Iron Hammer-class Heavy Interstellar Industrial Ship remained docked in its original position, and nearly a hundred more half-orc female crew members, who temporarily had no formal positions, stood in formation to welcome them back.

"Phew…" Lilith watched the starship dock successfully and let out a long sigh of relief. After years of fleeing, this was her first time participating in an interstellar battle as a starship secretary, and it was a battle against the Interstellar Zerg. Although she appeared very calm on the surface before, she was quite nervous internally. Now that it was over, she finally felt her hanging heart settle.

"Arrange for the injured on the Blizzard Zero to receive treatment. If the injuries are severe, the starport's treatment pods can be used, with the fleet bearing the cost. At the same time, the T2 Iron Hammer will begin work on repairing the Blizzard Zero's hull, and also construct the Interstellar Drones lost from the T2 Bee Queen-class Heavy Carrier Starship, to restore the T2 Bee Queen's combat readiness as quickly as possible. I will personally oversee this matter; you will be responsible for assisting."

Zachary immediately began to assign tasks.
