Chapter 70 - The Triumphant Return of Blizzard Zero

The starships of the Imperial Army fleet poured all their firepower onto a single point, forcefully tearing open a gap.

But how could the swarm so easily let the culprit that had destroyed three of their T2 Zerg Nest Motherships escape? They also began to blockade, and the swarm responsible for chasing that starship started to form an encirclement. It presented a pincer attack from two sides!

At this moment, they even abandoned the Imperial Army fleet as their target; their Zerg will contained only one command: to eliminate that accursed starship no matter what.

"Commander, the gap has been sealed again!" Commander Elena Vance said nervously.

Captain Victoria Shaw clenched her fists: "Continue the attack! No matter what, we must let that starship break through!"

In Captain Shaw's heart, that starship was now equivalent to a hero. How could she just watch a hero starship be surrounded and devoured by the swarm?

However, at this moment, no matter how their starships attacked, they simply could not blast open or tear a gap.

And at this time, the Blizzard Zero had already approached this Zerg battle line. Given the current condition of the Blizzard Zero's hull, it was simply impossible to withstand another impact from crashing into the swarm.

Captain Shaw bit her lip, feeling a bit guilty.

Commander Vance sighed, lamenting the fate of that starship…

Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared within the swarm's defensive line, engulfing a large number of Zerg and directly clearing out that space.

Subsequently, the T2 Young Bee-class Light Interstellar Drones and T2 Killer Bee-class Medium Interstellar Drones, already prepared, charged forward, attacking the Zerg around the gap to prevent them from sealing it again.

"That's the main cannon shell of that interstellar starship! They set it to detonate on a timer, precisely calculating the explosion distance!" Captain Shaw could now directly see the Blizzard Zero, which was speeding from afar, through the gap in the Zerg battle line. And that gleaming 1200mm giant cannon—she immediately understood the reason behind it.

"Quick! Provide fire support!" Captain Shaw urgently ordered.

Under the fire support of the Imperial Army fleet and the attack of the T2 Bee Queen-class Heavy Carrier Starship's Interstellar Drones, a ship's silhouette shot through the Zerg battle line at an extremely fast speed.

It was the Blizzard Zero—the focus of everyone's attention.

At this moment, the starships of the Imperial Army fleet could clearly see the traces of the previous Zerg impact on this starship. There were hundreds of places where the hull armor was dented from the impact, truly 'riddled with holes'. Especially at the bow of the starship, there was a large crater, twenty meters in diameter and nearly three meters deep, which was naturally the 'military honor' of ramming and destroying that T2 Zerg Nest Mothership. There were also many Zerg corpses and splattered green fluid on the hull. And… the Zerg that followed and still attempted to attack this starship—these Zerg clung to the hull, using their mouthparts, sharp claws, and corrosive acid to damage the starship's hull armor.

But soon, these Zerg were cleared away one by one by the arriving T2 Young Bee-class Light Interstellar Drones.

"What kind of starship is this…?" Captain Shaw gazed at the starship, feeling a hint of envy. At the same time, she admired the commander on this starship; that previous battle, which was both insane and as fluid as flowing water, was simply too perfect. She asked herself, if she were in that position, could she have done as well? Captain Shaw had no answer.

"Commander, the Blizzard Zero has successfully completed its combat mission. The hull is partially damaged, and seven crew members have minor injuries." Charlotte reported to Zachary Chase via video communication.

"Excellent work!" Zachary truly praised Charlotte's performance. Although he had privately discussed with Charlotte how to fight this battle beforehand, Charlotte had proposed this idea at the time, and Zachary agreed, but Charlotte could not promise the detailed combat steps, as they were facing Interstellar Zerg on the battlefield, and everything had to be adapted on the fly. But Charlotte guaranteed Zachary that she had at least an eighty percent chance of success, and even if it failed, she could safely retreat with the Blizzard Zero.

Charlotte did it!

Hiss, hiss, hiss.

"It's a communication request from the Imperial Army fleet's flagship." Secretary Lilith said, pointing to a pop-up communication request beside him.

"Connect it," Zachary said.

The video communication reopened. Captain Shaw appeared before Zachary again.

"Captain, we just received a message from P331 Asteroid. The evacuation of civilians on the asteroid is 80% complete, and it is estimated to be finished in another half an hour. This means we only need to hold on for another ten minutes or so before we can gradually withdraw from the battlefield." Captain Shaw's eyes fixed on the man before her. Now, her heart was filled with curiosity about this man. This man was like a god descending to earth; with just two starships, he helped them, who had completely lost hope, resolve the current crisis and rescue five million civilians on that planet. Who exactly was this man? And what exactly were those two starships? Captain Shaw had too many doubts and questions in her heart.

"I understand. Then we'll fight and retreat from now on. With three of the Zerg's T2 Zerg Nest Motherships destroyed, their swarm's command system will be chaotic for a short period, greatly affecting their combat efficiency. There will basically be no major threat," Zachary said calmly.

"Then…" Captain Shaw wanted to chat a bit more.

"Let's stop here for now. Until the battle is over, we cannot relax our vigilance." After Zachary finished speaking, he directly ended the communication.

Captain Shaw was stunned, staring blankly at the now black communication screen. This was the first time a man had ended a communication with her so quickly and swiftly. No matter what, she was still a delicate flower within the Imperial Army fleet, wasn't she? Was this treatment, perhaps, due to an incorrect way of opening it?

Zachary, of course, didn't know that he had already caused this delicate flower of the Imperial Army fleet to imagine things and feel a bit resentful.

"Report the current situation of both starships." Zachary sat in the captain's chair, truly relaxing at this moment. He pressed his temples and took a deep breath. Although he had Charlotte's promise before, it would be false to say he wasn't nervous.

Lilith had already completed the statistical data of the two starships' current situation beside him and began to report.

"As of now, the T2 Bee Queen-class Heavy Carrier Starship has lost nearly two hundred T2 Young Bee-class Light Interstellar Drones, sixty T2 Killer Bee-class Medium Interstellar Drones, and seven T2 Bumblebee-class Heavy Interstellar Drones. Seventy percent of the Interstellar Drones have been lost, 50% of ammunition and supplies have been consumed, and there are no personnel casualties."

After finishing with the T2 Bee Queen, next was the Blizzard Zero. The situation of the Blizzard Zero was not optimistic.

"Blizzard Zero's frontal armor has sustained over 70% comprehensive damage, and its other side wing armor has sustained 30% comprehensive damage. Three compartments located at the bow of the starship have been crushed and deformed and are now sealed. The starship's main skeleton structure strength has decreased by 5%, which does not affect the Blizzard Zero's continued combat and navigation. The unrestricted engine is currently observed to be operating normally, but whether there are hidden dangers requires a deep inspection upon returning to port. The power system, energy system, control system, and everything else are normal. Ammunition and supplies consumption is 30%."
