Chapter 63 - They Really Dare to Fire

Twenty minutes later, the Blizzard Zero and the T2 Bee Queen-class Heavy Carrier Starship arrived at the preset coordinates one after another.

Captain Zachary Chase woke up immediately, left the hibernation pod, and sat in the captain's chair. Just as he was about to give orders, a voice beside him spoke.

"All personnel on the Bridge, return to your stations within one minute and check all starship data. All personnel on the starship, return to your stations within three minutes and be ready for orders at any time. The starship will immediately enter secondary combat readiness. Interstellar Drones are ready for deployment at any time."

Captain Zachary looked over and saw that Secretary Lilith had already begun issuing commands.

Lilith noticed Captain Zachary's gaze, and she said somewhat restrainedly, "Did… did… did I do something wrong?"

"No, you did very well. I didn't expect you to recover so quickly. Your physical condition is quite good," Captain Zachary said admiringly.

The secretary's duty is to assist the captain in giving orders, and when necessary, to issue some non-designated captain authority orders before the captain. Just like those words just now.

Lilith replied, "I also served on a starship in the Demon Kingdom before and participated in the war against invaders… but we ultimately failed."

"The Demon Kingdom battle… I remember that was over fifty years ago, wasn't it? You were already serving then? So, how old are you now?" Captain Zachary began to speculate about his secretary's age.

Lilith said, "Yes, I am seventy-five years old this year."

Captain Zachary was stunned. Seventy-five years old? Looking at Lilith's appearance, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she looked twenty.

Lilith guessed Captain Zachary's suspicion and explained, "Our succubus lifespan can reach three hundred years under normal circumstances of natural death. If we use some technological means like your human race, we might live to four hundred years."

Four hundred years? Captain Zachary swallowed. By that calculation, Lilith was indeed like a twenty-year-old girl in human terms. The current maximum lifespan for humans can reach one hundred fifty years; of course, this is only available to the privileged class. The lifespan of ordinary people is still seventy to eighty years.

"Captain, the Blizzard Zero has successfully completed warp navigation. Please provide the next instructions." Charlotte's communication window popped up.

"How far is our current position from P331 Asteroid?" Captain Zachary asked.

Lilith quickly replied, "If it's at the T2 Bee Queen's speed, it's estimated to arrive at P331 Asteroid in half an hour at the fastest. For the Blizzard Zero, it can arrive in ten minutes."

Because warp navigation can only reach approximate locations, in a non-combat environment, it can be closer to the destination. But if heading to a combat zone, the interstellar fleet usually decelerates in advance, stopping warp navigation at a certain distance from the combat zone, and then using conventional engines to enter the combat zone.

"The Blizzard Zero will first form a formation with the T2 Bee Queen and head to P331 Asteroid. The specific combat plan will be discussed upon arrival," Captain Zachary said.

"Yes," Charlotte and Lilith responded simultaneously.

Subsequently, the two starships sailed in the same direction at the same speed.

After about ten minutes of sailing, they saw a group of very slow Interstellar Transport Ships.

"What kind of starship is that?" Captain Zachary looked suspiciously at these Interstellar Transport Ships, whose speed was estimated to be only 10 knots. It was clear this was not their normal speed.

"According to the serial numbers of these Interstellar Transport Ships, they should be an Interstellar Transport Ship fleet under the Arctic Fox Star System Lord Fleet. The model is a T2 Seahorse-class Medium Interstellar Transport Ship. Their appearance here should be for the purpose of evacuating civilians from P331 Asteroid." Lilith quickly replied.

Captain Zachary looked at Lilith with some surprise.

Lilith explained softly, "It was in the information I studied."

"Contact their starship and ask them why their speed is so slow," Captain Zachary frowned.

Soon, the communication was connected.

"What fleet are you?" The opposing fleet commander asked first.

"We are the Black Dragon Fleet, assigned to support the P331 Asteroid evacuation mission. You are the Interstellar Transport Ships responsible for evacuating P331 Asteroid, right? Why is your speed so slow!" Lilith inquired.

The opposing fleet commander was stunned for a moment: "Our starship is damaged, so our speed is relatively slow. Since you are going to provide support, you can go ahead."

After speaking, the fleet commander cut off his communication and chuckled to his adjutant beside him, "Someone actually dared to take on this mission. They must be idiots with broken brains. We are not fools. If we rush over now, what if the Interstellar Zerg attacks while we are evacuating people on the planet? We'll just drive slowly. When the Imperial Army can't hold out and tells us not to go anymore, we'll just retreat directly."

"Our starship warns your fleet to carry out your combat mission and proceed at full speed to P331 Asteroid." Lilith's voice sounded.

The fleet commander frowned: "Where did this person come from, being so nosy."

Because the communication on their end was not open, the T2 Bee Queen could not hear what he said.

The adjutant, smoking beside him, said calmly, "Don't mind them. We'll go our way. They're not the Imperial Army; what can they do to us?"

"Report, all the secondary cannons on that unidentified starship are aimed at our fleet's starships!" a Bridge crew member suddenly reported.

The fleet commander snorted: "What, do they dare to open fire on us? We are a subordinate fleet of the Arctic Fox Star System Lord Fleet."

Suddenly, outside the Bridge's floor-to-ceiling window in front of the commander, streaks of 'meteors' streaked by, the closest of which was less than a hundred meters from his Bridge!

That starship actually dared to open fire!

"Our starship warns you one last time. If you continue to neglect your mission, you will bear the consequences." The female voice sounded again.

The fleet commander swallowed: "Lunatics! These must be lunatics! They want to die themselves and insist on dragging us along!"

"Then what do we do? This posture—they really dare to open fire! We don't have an escort fleet, and with the meager firepower of the Interstellar Transport Ship's turrets, there's no room for counterattack! Oh… my hand…" The adjutant was also scared at this moment; he didn't even notice the cigarette burning his hand and cried out in pain.

The fleet commander's face darkened: "This time, I'm unlucky, but I'll remember this grudge! Full speed ahead to P331 Asteroid."

Captain Zachary on the T2 Bee Queen's Bridge saw the originally sluggish Interstellar Transport Ship fleet pick up to full speed, and he revealed a satisfied smile.

He knew what thoughts these guys harbored. Normally, it had nothing to do with him; they could do whatever they wanted. But unfortunately, this time it was Captain Zachary's system mission, so they shouldn't even think about deliberately delaying it!
