He looked at the stack.
"Done," she said. "The first period."
"How long," he said.
"The first period covers approximately two and a half years," she said. "From your Awakening to the world aggregate reaching ten." She paused. "Forty-nine notebooks." She paused. "The record is complete for that period." She paused. "What comes after — I'll document as it comes." She paused. "But the first period is closed."
He looked at the notebooks.
At forty-nine volumes of what had happened.
"Can I read it," he said.
