Chapter 21 - Fireball

Hello readers...

This is your author speaking...

I just wanted to vent a bit with you guys...

My contract application with webnovel just got rejected and I'm a bit sad about it. I can't even reapply for it a second time.😖

The reason being, first - suspected AI content.

'WTF bro, I'm writing it because I enjoy it. How can you accuse me like that?'

Every other reason can be collectively described as "Immature Writing" that's not worth the money.

Yup! I can't deny that one. English is my second language and it's my first time writing something that's other than my exams. What can I expect...

But it will improve in the future... Probably...😅😅

Those of you who like to read my story ( I know there isn't a lot of you at this point, maybe 1 or 2 ),

just let me know by leaving a comment in the chapter, even if it's just an emoji... ( Yeah! I'm desperate. )

That will be enough motivation for me to continue my work.

Let's get back to the story for now.

"You will always be My Dear Teacher...

Whom I will love and care for...

For the Rest of Eternity..."

"As long as you love me of course," Graham said in a light chuckle at the end, but his eyes were swirling like blackholes with possessiveness.

That Rhea missed from her angle.

But his last line got her ticked

"Who is going to love you..? you... You scoundrel." saying that she separated from him and puffed up her cheeks.

"Yeah... Yeah... we will see about that."

"First we need to clean up those pests crawling out of the portal, don't you think?"

Seeing how Graham totally ignored ignored her complaint, Rhea wanted to protest.

But the new wave of monsters emerging from the portal, made her shut her mouth.

She just prepared herself for another battle.

Only this time, Rhea was a lot more stronger.

Her level went from 1 to 6 - bringing all her average stats from 1 to 6.

Meaning, she was almost six times stronger than before.

Her weapon also got an upgrade - from trash grade daggers to common grade daggers.

So she was more than ready for it.

But Graham's focus was on another thing entirely.

"Before ranking up, all the exp I'm going to earn, will go down the drain. So before killing new monsters, let's waste some levels.

Graham smiled in satisfaction after seeing the skill effect.

Then along with Rhea, he started running towards the monsters.

Graham, with his sword, was like a war god bulldozing through every monster in from of him, bisecting them effortlessly.

He also occasionally released a fireball or two in their midst, lighting them up and roasting them alive.

While Rhea with her daggers, was like formless air, weaving through the monsters with uncanny precision, while dodging their attacks and inflicting fatal wounds on them simultaneously.

Though she was slightly shocked seeing a literal ball of fire flying around, tracing it to it's source...

she just shrugged and continued her killing spree, chalking it upto Graham being an unreasonable monster again.

With both of them continuing the slaughter, time slowly passed.

Earth suddenly went silent after that. Since each and every monster on Earth suddenly vanished.

People who were about to die because of them were thanking The Gods while shedding tears of joy, for giving them another chance at life.

Those who lost their loved ones however, were cursing the heavens for the misfortune that fell upon them without warning.

Only those armed with firearms had even the slightest chance of repelling the monsters.

Even then, repelling them was all they could do.

But for others, these monsters are their worst nightmare. They could only watch as their friends, families or they themselves get torn apart and eaten by those abominations.

Now those monsters were gone. As suddenly as they came.

After a bit of silence, the world exploded with chatter.

Some social media apps even crashing due to the sudden influx of activity from all across the world.

Everyone saw the system prompts in front of them, with most of them experiencing the terror of the monsters firsthand.

So, They had lots of questions.

About the monsters.

About the System.

About Mana.

But no one was there to give them the answers.
