Chapter 65: The Fashion Minor Gallery Burns
Now that his hair was styled, it was time to buy clothes.
'Where should I buy clothes?'
On 1st Avenue, there's a clothing store that would become famous later.
The store was called 'Style Complete,' and it was also abbreviated as Swan. Swan had a dual meaning—it was a shortened name while also implying "I'll make you a Swan."
Swan was run by a young woman who was famous for giving incredible clothing combination recommendations tailored to individual styles.
'I didn't have the courage to go there before.'
Not from worry about transferring bad luck, but because back then he was so timid that he disliked when shop assistants spoke to him. So he mostly bought clothes online or chose stores where clerks wouldn't bother him.
But this time, he planned to request styling directly. Honestly, he wasn't confident about wearing clothes nicely. To put it bluntly, aside from sportswear, Seo Juhwan's style was practically a fashion disaster.
With some anticipation, he arrived at the store from his memories.
"Opening preparations in progress."
"Ah..."
An disappointed sigh escaped Seo Juhwan's mouth. Swan wasn't open yet.
Disappointed, he turned his steps toward the underground shopping district.
'In that case, I'll go for quantity over quality.'
His thinking was that if he bought a lot, something would surely look good.
*
The current time was 6:30 PM.
Though he'd spent considerable time at the salon and shopping for clothes, because he'd moved with plenty of time to spare, he arrived 30 minutes early.
Seo Juhwan entered a cafe. Since they'd arranged to meet here anyway, he thought he'd wait inside.
Seated, he accessed a community called "Men's Fashion Minor Gallery." After buying clothes in bulk at the underground mall, he'd sought advice on how to coordinate them.
He smiled wryly looking at what he'd posted.
"I'm clueless about fashion, recommend some outfit combinations. Meeting a girl today."
- Three hours left. Please. Just bought these clothes today.
Perhaps because he'd mentioned meeting a girl, he'd successfully drawn aggro. The post was flooded with comments.
- Shit, I came to curse at the humblebrag, but this guy is seriously hopeless.
- Uhh... so this is when they use "quality over quantity."
- What shit-tier clothes did this bastard pick out?
- Are you a mountaineer?
- Pulled these out of a clothing donation bin?
- Even me, a lifelong solo, can't accept this;;
- Take my advice and buy new stuff. Seriously.
- Those pants fit. Did you buy them in 2005?
- Why is everyone taking this seriously? Clearly just trolling for aggro. Or is it just me?
- I'll give you a list, so go buy those. Quick.
Eventually, Seo Juhwan bought new clothes following the comments.
At a glance, they were much better than what he'd originally bought.
He put them on confidently and posted a photo.
"That clueless guy from before. Bought new clothes and posting a pic."
- This should be okay?
Again, countless comments poured in.
- LOL seriously.
- Why do you wear good clothes like garbage??
- This guy's killing me.
- ???Wait, wasn't this a joke post? What, for real???
- Try posting each piece individually like before. Ladies and gentlemen, let's begin the coordination.
- Please wear those clothes as they are. Couples hell, solo heaven!
- And this bastard gets to meet girls...
- Bro, I'm getting self-hatred and feeling depressed...
And so the Fashion Minor Gallery burned.
Seo Juhwan's post went up, comments came in, another post went up, more comments came in.
- What's with those endless rolled-up hems? Who rolls up like that?
- Don't belt it that way!
- How are you meeting girls anyway? Is your face insanely handsome? Or money?
- Hey, wait. What socks did you buy?
└ Now that you mention it, what about shoes?
└ Oh, right!
- Stop trolling the board. This is a fashion gallery, not a mystery gallery.
└ LMAOOO
└ Literally
└ Ah, so that was it!
Two hours later.
"How's this?"
- I wrote down all the outfit combinations you suggested. Really grateful. This should be good, right?
The gallery was finally laid to rest.
- Finally... finally!
- Hah. Once he's dressed normally, he looks okay.
└ More than okay, proportions are actually pretty good.
└ Literally a different person from before.
└ Real talk, if he just lost some weight, his style would be amazing.
- Now that I think about it, he's the one going on a date, so why am I exhausted?
└ Suddenly irritating.
└ Why do we have to suffer?
- Everyone, thank you for your hard work. Today we saved a person...
After reading the comments carefully, Seo Juhwan smiled wryly and scratched his eye corner. He'd thought he couldn't dress well, but he'd never imagined it was this bad. So he himself was the fashion terrorist he'd only heard about.
'Maybe they were just oversensitive because it's a fashion gallery? I think the clothes I bought first weren't that bad...'
If the fashion gallery users had heard this, they might have collapsed clutching the back of their necks.
As he sipped his Americano, soon a KakaoTalk notification came.
[Choi Mi-hwa]
- Writer, I think I'll arrive in about 5 minutes.
- Let me know when you get there~.
"Has it really gotten this late?"
About 20 minutes had already passed.
He sent a reply via KakaoTalk.
[Me]: I've arrived. I'm by the window.
[Choi Mi-hwa]: Oh really? I'll hurry!
[Me]: No rush, come slowly (1)
"She can take her time."
Seeing the (1) didn't disappear, it seemed she was coming in a hurry.
As he waited, looking toward the door, a woman entered. She had wavy short hair down to her shoulders and wore round silver-framed glasses, making her look intellectual.
'Is she Choi Mi-hwa?'
When he'd seen her before, her makeup had been washed away by tears and she'd looked rough, so she seemed like a completely different person now.
The woman glanced at him briefly, tilted her head curiously, and looked around again. Then their eyes met. But the woman turned her head away. Their eyes had definitely met, which was strange.
'I think it's her...'
Seo Juhwan stood up and approached the woman.
Seeing him, she tilted her head in confusion, but as he approached closer, she suddenly widened her eyes in surprise.
"W-Writer?"
For some reason, Choi Mi-hwa was startled.
