Chapter 147 - Someone Please Control Tang San

Shrek Academy in the sky, at the edge of the floating island.

Two burly figures sneakily passed through a cluster of relatively tall buildings, hiding behind an unidentified metallic structure and peeking around cautiously.

It was none other than Da Ming and Tai Tan.

"Big Brother..." Tai Tan lowered his voice, his honest face showing a hint of uncertainty. "Is it really okay for us to sneak in like this?"

Da Ming didn't look back, his eyes still vigilantly scanning the surroundings. "There's no choice. These are Tang San's orders, and we have to follow them. Now, let's just hope we don't run into that madwoman Cai Yue'er."

"Exactly. Every time the two of us come here, we get scolded mercilessly. A mere Titled Douluo—if we were outside, I would have taught her a lesson long ago."

Upon hearing Da Ming mention Cai Yue'er's name, Tai Tan couldn't help but speak up, his tone filled with indignation.

"Sigh, I don't know what that fellow Tang San is up to. It's just a New Student Grand Competition. A bunch of kids fighting each other like they're playing house—what's there to see?" Tai Tan grumbled in complaint.

"Although the Martial Soul Fusion Skill performed by Xiao Qi and that fellow named Huo Yuhao last time was indeed good and quite powerful... for the two of us, it's still far too weak."

"Alright, talk less. You're comparing yourself to a few three or four-ring Spirit Masters—have you no shame? Also... watch your mouth. Don't keep talking like this once we leave this Shrek Academy in the sky. If Tang San hears you, you'll be in for it."

"Don't worry, Big Brother. We've been together for so many years; don't you know me? My lips are always sealed." Tai Tan nodded with a smile.

Currently, this Shrek Academy in the sky was a place where the two brothers could temporarily relax. After all, once they returned to the ground, that fellow Tang San would monitor them from time to time. Most importantly, since Tang San wouldn't say anything, the two of them never knew if he was watching them.

This forced them to be cautious in word and deed; only here could they properly vent their frustrations.

Of course, despite Tai Tan's assurance, the look Da Ming gave him was still full of distrust, which made Tai Tan feel somewhat aggrieved.

"Big Brother, what's with that look? I'm really reliable, okay?"

Da Ming looked away, too lazy to argue with him. "Fine, hurry up and find a teacher in this academy who can make decisions."

He paused and added. "Preferably someone with a good temperament. And whatever we do, let's not run into Cai Yue'er again."

Tai Tan nodded in deep agreement.

The two looked at each other, took a deep breath at the same time, and were about to continue fumbling forward—

"What are you two whispering about here?" A cold voice rang out from behind them. "I don't recall giving you two permission to come to this place, have I?"

Da Ming and Tai Tan's bodies froze simultaneously.

That voice...

That tone...

That familiar, spine-chilling pressure...

Cai Yue'er.

That madwoman!

The two turned around mechanically, forcing smiles onto their faces that looked worse than crying.

"Te... Teacher Cai... what a coincidence, you're here too?" Cai Yue'er stood about thirty feet behind them, her hands tucked into her sleeves. No expression could be seen on her wrinkled face, but her deep eyes swept over them indifferently, making their spines tingle.

"I should be the one asking you that, shouldn't I?" She spoke slowly, her tone so calm it was unnerving. "I don't remember giving the two of you the right to wander around our academy at will."

Da Ming took a deep breath, trying his best to calm himself.

"Teacher Cai, actually, we're here for official business this time."

"Official business?" Cai Yue'er raised an eyebrow. "Let's hear it."

Da Ming steeled himself and continued. "We want to see the Dean."

Upon hearing this, Cai Yue'er's eyes narrowed slightly. "The Dean?"

She let out a light chuckle, her laughter carrying a hint of blatant mockery. "Not just any random riffraff can see the Dean."

Random riffraff?

Hearing this, a surge of dissatisfaction rose in both Da Ming and Tai Tan's hearts.

What was their strength?

One was a Rank 98 Super Douluo, and the other was a Rank 99 Limit Douluo. Anywhere on the Douluo Continent, they were existences whose every step would make the ground tremble.

Yet in Cai Yue'er's mouth, they became "random riffraff"?

The two exchanged a glance, seeing the same sense of grievance in each other's eyes.

But—

Neither of them dared to show it.

They only sighed silently in their hearts.

Bad luck.

Truly bad luck.

Why did they have to run into this madwoman again?

Da Ming steeled himself and continued.

"Teacher Cai, then can we ask you for a favor? This matter is quite important to us brothers."

"Hmm?"

"I heard from Xiao Qi that the New Student Grand Competition is in three days." Da Ming paused, his tone carrying a hint of earnestness. "As Xiao Qi's guardians, we don't want to miss this girl's first competition since enrolling."

"So..." He looked up at Cai Yue'er.

"Could you allow us to come to the academy in three days to watch the matches?"

Having said that, Da Ming and Tai Tan were already prepared to be rejected. They were even calculating in their minds to find more excuses and plead more, determined to push for it even if they had to be thick-skinned.

However—

"Fine." Cai Yue'er's voice rang out indifferently. "We really..."

Da Ming and Tai Tan, who were about to explain further, were both stunned. They looked at each other, both seeing expressions of disbelief.

"You... you said okay?" Tai Tan asked tentatively, his voice trembling slightly.

Cai Yue'er glanced at him. "What? Are you deaf?"

"No, no, no! Not deaf! I heard you loud and clear!" Tai Tan waved his hands hurriedly, a bright smile instantly blooming on his honest face. "Thank you, Teacher Cai! Thank you, Teacher Cai!"

"However, before that day arrives, do not wander around as you please. Now, get lost."

Cai Yue'er looked at them, her words still completely blunt. Hearing Cai Yue'er's words, the two also breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she agreed, they had fulfilled Tang San's orders.

As for telling them to get lost, they didn't care at all about going back.

After leaving the area, the two were still in disbelief.

"Big Brother, what do you think happened to that madwoman? To think she agreed to our request so easily; it's truly strange."

Da Ming nodded, his eyes also filled with complexity. "I'm not sure either, but... as long as she agreed, it's fine."

The two couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, hoping Tang San wouldn't work them like beasts of burden anymore. When Tang San resurrected them, he clearly said they only needed to be on standby and would be free the rest of the time. But now, they had tasks almost every day.

That fellow Tang San clearly can't see anything, yet he's becoming more and more diligent in inspecting the Douluo Continent. I really hope someone in the Divine Realm can control Tang San and stop him from observing the Lower Realm so frequently. They have privacy too, okay?

The two returned to the edge of Shrek Academy, waiting for Wang Dong'er to return so they could take her back down.
