Yichen wasn't like others, he didn't try to impress her, didn't ask questions, didn't even seem curious, he was calm and quiet.
At first it bothered Rose, but slowly...she found comfort in his silence.
He helped her in class with homework, but remained quiet and didn't speak until necessary.
One afternoon, she noticed him sketching, flowers- delicate, detailed and alive.
"You draw?" she asked softly.
He paused,"sometimes."
"They're beautiful"
Yichen looked at her for a second longer than usual and replied "thanks."

Next day in lunch Rose noticed him sitting alone in classroom she asked " have u eaten",
He said " today I didn't bring lunch as I was running late." She asked him to join but he refused and said "thank you for asking."
After school she asked him to go home together, in reply he just nodded as yes.
They walked together in silence, suddenly in excitement Rose pointed at a convenience store
"let's eat ice-cream".
He nodded.
They were eating while walking to home and Rose was telling him about London, he was listening quietly.
Suddenly Yichen said "Rose"
"Hmm..?" She faced him.
He pointed towards her nose and laughed softly as there was cream on her nose.
But what matters that his laughter made her heart melt.
