Chapter 13 - Chapter 13:

Chapter 13:

"Bang!"

The girl flew off the stage like a kite with a broken string and crashed heavily to the ground.

The match lasted less than a minute from start to finish.

Lin Fan only activated his Soul Devouring Spider Emperor Martial Soul he didn't even use a single Soul Skill.

And if anyone wondered how his movement technique had become so extraordinary the answer was simple.

He had been beaten up by Bibi Dong.

That month of grueling training included a special program focused entirely on dodging soul-devouring attacks.

Who knows how many times he had been struck by Bibi Dong's soul power!

"Next~" Lin Fan lazily beckoned with his finger.

"I'll do it!"

A burly young man roared and charged onto the arena.

He unleashed his martial soul — a giant brown bear radiating a ferocious aura.

The process repeated as always.

The moment the match started, Lin Fan flashed in front of the boy like lightning and threw a single punch.

"Bang!"

The boy was sent flying off the stage as if struck by a heavy hammer, crashing to the ground, spitting blood, and falling unconscious.

It didn't even take a minute, and Lin Fan hadn't even used his soul skills.

A physical build comparable to a three-ring Soul Master? Are you kidding?

"This... how is this possible?"

The students below the stage were stunned, unable to believe their eyes.

This Lin Fan was unreal!

"Is this guy even human?!"

Lin Fan's mockery, however, only continued.

His gaze swept over the terrified students below and he called out lazily, "To put it bluntly i could beat every single one of you like you're little kids!"

A few harsh words, and the effect was perfect!

His words only fueled the students' anger further.

They clamored to rush onto the stage, even knowing they would lose they were determined to give it everything they had.

So one after another, they charged up.

Without exception, every single one was defeated.

Some were kicked out of the ring, others sent flying by a single punch.

These freshmen had only just enrolled — their cultivation levels no higher than level 12.

Compared to Lin Fan's physical attributes at level 17, peak three-ring Soul Master, it truly was no different from beating up little kids.

"Bibi Dong, your disciple is far too arrogant," Golden Crocodile Douluo transmitted his voice, his tone clearly displeased.

Bibi Dong elegantly picked up her teacup and replied via telepathy:

"Young people have the right to be bold, don't they?

Or has Spirit Hall grown too old to tolerate a little youthful energy?"

Golden Crocodile Douluo snorted coldly and said nothing more.

On the arena, the battles continued. One student after another stepped up, only to be easily defeated.

The points kept accumulating. Lin Fan roughly estimated he had already earned over 600 points that morning enough to exchange for a good amount of rare metals.

"Class 1, Silver Division Zhao Jia, Level 13, Power Attack Type Battle Soul Master, Martial Soul: Ironclad Rhinoceros!" A burly boy stepped onto the arena.

Lin Fan finally felt a flicker of interest this was the challenger with the highest cultivation level so far.

For the first time, his opponent actually forced Lin Fan to use a soul skill.

But the outcome was no different. The moment Lin Fan activated his skill, it was over instantly.

"Zhao Jia from Class 1 of the Silver Division has lost!" The moment the referee's voice rang out, the entire stands erupted in a wave of gasps.

"This is impossible!" Golden Crocodile Douluo in the VIP section crushed the armrest beneath his grip. "Just what level is this kid?!"

Even a 100,000-year-old soul beast in human form couldn't be this monstrous!

"That concludes today's matches." The referee wiped a bead of sweat from his brow.

The tournament, originally planned for three days, was looking like it would wrap up in one and a half.

The announcement, amplified by soul power, rang throughout the venue: "The open challenge segment will begin at 3 PM."

"Junior Brother, I had no idea you were this incredible," Hu Liena said.

"But you were so sharp-tongued this morning are you really not worried about this afternoon? You'll be facing higher-level opponents."

"Those second to fourth-year students who haven't even hit level 20 won't dare step up who wants to hand over ten points for free and get kicked off the stage in front of everyone?"

"But if you do lose, you'll really embarrass yourself in front of the whole school."

"Aren't you at least a little nervous?

You'll be facing Soul Masters of at least the second ring this afternoon."

"What's there to be nervous about? We deal with whatever comes." Lin Fan shrugged, unbothered.

"We've already come this far — there's no backing down now. Instead of worrying, let's use the time to train."

"Senior Sister," Lin Fan said with a mischievous glint in his eye, "how about we make a bet?"

"What kind of bet?"

"If I win this afternoon, you have to perform a dance of my choosing.

Nothing difficult — no showing the waist, no splits, just three minutes.

Once you're done, the bet is settled."

Hu Liena narrowed her eyes, intrigued. "Oh? And what's the penalty if you lose?"

"You name it just keep it reasonable."

She tilted her head and thought for a moment, then suddenly reached out and pinched Lin Fan's cheek with a sharp tug: "Then you'll cover my meals for a month. Miss even one, and the bet is void."

Lin Fan didn't dodge, letting her pinch him and even grinned: "Deal."

"No problem."

Lin Fan pulled out a hand-drawn picture book from his soul tool and held it out to Hu Liena. "Senior Sister, study this ahead of time. I'm not losing."

"I drew this myself. Return it after you've learned it others might want to learn from it too someday."

"Hehe, win first. Get some rest I'll leave you to it." Hu Liena said, flipping through the picture book as she headed for the door.

The dances shown had nothing suggestive about them, the movements were oddly unique but they sparked her curiosity all the same.

Watching her leave, Lin Fan made his way to the storage room.

Inside, the Nether Turtle and the Scorpion Tiger he had purchased two months ago sat quietly in their cages. He crouched down and tapped the bars gently. Both creatures immediately tensed, pulling back warily.

"Don't be scared. Once my cultivation is high enough, I'll give you a proper home." Lin Fan murmured, a wicked little smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

If he already had the mental strength and cultivation required for a soul contract ceremony, he would have bound one of them as a soul spirit long ago not waited until now.

The reasons he had chosen these two were straightforward enough.

The Nether Turtle, as he had considered before, could refine Yin energy to promote martial soul evolution — with it, his own martial soul might be able to evolve on its own.

The Scorpion Tiger had the ability to grow by devouring given enough resources, its power and lifespan could expand rapidly, like inflating a balloon.

On top of that, it was a subspecies of the Dark Demon God Tiger, and evolving into a true Dark Demon God Tiger wasn't out of the question.

And crucially forming a soul contract with either of them carried minimal risk. No life-or-death struggle, no deathmatch arena. A safe, reliable investment.

"Just sit tight, you two. Once I'm strong enough, I'll take you with me — and I'll get you both to the 100,000-year level."

With that, Lin Fan stood up, dusted off his hands, and walked out of the storage room.
