Beta Tester 3390 was from a toxicology family that was well known for their study and use of different types of poisons. If it was toxic, then this family was interested, as it did not matter how. If it was toxic or poisonous at all, then this family was probably already into the study of it at some level at some point. Did not matter if it was in the past, present, or even future. Look them up, and there would probably be someone from this family involved in it at some point throughout history.
With the advent of the information age and then the digital age. There came a shift in what this family did, as poisonous and toxicity spread from just affecting organic things to start applying to inorganic things as well. With the advent and true rise of computers came computer viruses, which could be considered poison and/or toxic to them. Thus, there were branches of the family that got into the study of them only, along with how they could affect others, if not directly, then indirectly. As they were a family that was well known for studying all kinds of toxicology, after all. With the rise of social media, they were also branches that studied the toxic side of it as well.
In fact, if anything got the toxic or could be considered poisonous, then this family was dealing with it in some way. Were they a rich family for it? Not so much, as they did not care too much for money, fame, or fortune. That is, unless it was toxic and/or poisonous somehow, then they were at least one member that was all over it in that case. Of course, Kynatech has some members of this family working for them in numerous capacities and fashions. A family whose existence was the study of any kind of toxicology, regardless of the nature, was considered an invaluable asset to Kynatech.
Gaming was also something that caught the eye of this toxic obessed family early on. The usage of them within games, as well as toxic gamers, was something they had been studying and working on for decades, since gaming was just board games to tabletop games to video games all the way to virtual reality games themselves. Even just virtual reality itself was something they studied with intensity and passion.
Video Games and tabletop games really caught their eye for their use of poisons in various manners and applications as well. The status effect, the poison users, the curses—it was all something that they were interested in a vast manner and fervently. That was made even clearer when it was discovered by accident that plagues could be simulated within video games themselves. Then games all about poisons, viruses, and plagues themselves started coming up and getting released. This was what caused a branch of the family to throw their full and complete weight into their section themselves, doing everything and anything they could to learn and experience as much as they could.
With the advent of VR, things took another jump for this family, as they were again connected to Kynatech in many ways. Possibly one of the reasons they were able to remain so large and dominant as well. They were a toxicology experts of all kinds, thus were able to root out all traces of it before they could fester too long. They cleaned up messes before they could spread too far and cause too much harm to the brand and business.
The creation of The Decagon led to members of the family getting chosen as beta testers. Not because they were given special privileges that just gave them those spots, though. None of them were merely handed a spot amongst the ten thousand and nine beta testers chosen. They had to earn their spot just like everyone else did, the hard way. There was going to be no one from their family that bought their way into The Decagon beta test. Not to say that there were not those who did not buy their way into the beta test with their cash, power, or influence. The toxicology famed family knew the strengths and weaknesses of such an approach, given that it could be considered a toxic one, after all, at some level to some people. For all its strengths, the weaknesses were immense, especially when they were considering this was Kynatech, after all. Though it was to be expected, as those that did try to work around the system would eventually discover they were not really doing so, as they were just considered a part of it. After all, one does not become a trillionaire with trillion dollar business if they can not handle cash, power, and influence on an almost ungodly level.
Anyway, Beta Tester 3390 was amongst the middle of those from the family that managed to make it in. They were, of course, not paired with anyone from the family within the wing of the facility itself that they were all waiting in before the actual beta test was slated to start. Being the 3390 person meant there was still a lot of waiting left to do, so they were just chilling and taking it easy. They had no idea just how many of their family members were amongst the beta testers, as they were qualifying for it on their own without their family connections, just their own personal skills and abilities.
Here, beta tester 3390 was within the eighth wing of the facility themselves. They were really eager to do this, as they were considering this their chance, after all. Hoping that they would get picked for this. The prep they did to secure themselves a spot was something they were worried was not going to pay off. As they only had one shot at this, and those amongst the family that were given the allowance to take on this task. They were given strict warnings and precautions by those of the family who work within Kynatech itself about the beta test.
