"The old man's wife?" Denji's tone clearly showed his lack of interest. "She's gotta be like, fifty, right?"
"Fifty? He was a yakuza boss, his wife is only thirty."
"Thirty? That's almost twice my age. I'm only into cute girls." Denji still couldn't muster an ounce of interest. "Though, my eye..." He felt his field of vision had gotten much wider, reaching up to touch his completely healed eyeball.
"It's not just your eye. Your kidney and your missing nut are back too."
"For real?!" Denji was in utter disbelief. He didn't just feel like he had come back from the dead; it was like he'd been completely reborn. Even the organs he had sold off had grown back.
He immediately yanked his pants open to investigate, but Arata stopped him. "No need to check, I already looked at it earlier."
"You pervert!!!"
"Hey, I was your doctor, who else knows your body better than me? You make it sound like I actually wanted to look."
"What are you guys talking about?" Just then, a woman dressed in sexy, revealing clothes walked out.
Her appearance instantly triggered a strong biological reaction in Denji. He deeply regretted saying he wasn't interested just a moment ago. Sure enough, cute wasn't even worth mentioning in the face of pure sex appeal.
"We were just talking about how Denji grew an extra ball," Arata said.
"An extra ball?" The woman glanced at Denji, who was covering his crotch, and instantly understood. "So you mean he's got three balls now? That's just an extra burden."
"What do you mean three?!!"
"Alright, I don't want to talk about this anymore. You said my husband sent you to protect me, but the two of you look like total strangers," the woman said, dropping the topic of exactly how many balls Denji had and turning to question Arata.
Arata's handsome face made the woman intentionally lean in closer. The corners of her lips curled up slightly, as if hinting for him to shut up and kiss her.
"Keep your mouth away from me, did you forget to brush your teeth?" Arata bluntly took a step back.
"Ahem!" The woman was briefly speechless, faking a cough to suppress her embarrassment. "Hurry up and tell me, who exactly are you people?"
"The reason you don't recognize us is that we are private Devil Hunters hired by your husband."
"Devil Hunters?"
"That's right. Your husband recently got himself into a mess and provoked the Zombie Devil. He was worried something might happen to you, so he sent us to act as your personal bodyguards."
"The Zombie Devil!" The woman's expression froze, seemingly having heard of it. Her trust in them skyrocketed immediately.
"But I just tried calling him, and no one answered."
"Maybe his phone ran out of minutes, or maybe he's on a date with another woman right now and it's not convenient to pick up."
"Impossible!! His body can't handle it anymore, he definitely wouldn't go looking for another woman."
Arata cast an intriguing look at the woman's figure and nodded knowingly. "Then maybe he's already been killed by the Zombie Devil."
"It's better if he's dead. That way I can take his money and go find another man." Saying that, the woman pursed her lips and suggestively looked at Arata.
"As expected of a yakuza boss's wife, you speak unlike anyone else."
Bang!! Just then, the courtyard gates were violently burst open.
A man stumbled inside, clutching his waist with one hand and panting heavily as he ran, shouting, "Nanako!"
"Nanako?" Arata raised an eyebrow.
"My name is Nanako."
"As expected of the boss's wife, even your name is eye-catching. Though it'd be even better if it was one syllable shorter."
"Come outside with me to take a look." Nanako grabbed Arata's hand and pulled him out the door.
"Nanako, things are bad!" The man rushed closer. But the moment he came face to face with the two of them, he froze dead in his tracks.
"Oh, it's you," Arata spoke first.
"You two know each other?"
"Of course we do. He's the guy who bought my car for 500,000 yen."
"D-Devil..."
"What was that?" Before the car-buying guy could finish, Arata stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder.
The man trembled in terror, his legs giving out and buckling halfway. "Why... why are you here?"
"None of your business. First, tell us why you're running around in such a panic."
"Nanako, the boss is dead."
"He actually died?" Nanako looked mildly surprised. "Who killed him?"
"I don't know, but looking at how mangled the bodies were, it had to be a devil. But there's something even worse." The car-buying guy took a heavy breath and continued. "The boss and the rest of the guys' bodies are being eaten by a horde of zombies right now."
"The bodies are being eaten by zombies? Then the Zombie Devil definitely killed them." Arata effortlessly dumped the blame onto the Zombie Devil.
Neither of them had any objections. They both felt Arata's analysis made perfect sense.
"I knew we shouldn't have cooperated with a devil. Now look what happened, the boss got eaten by zombies."
"And what about you? You ran past a horde of zombies and didn't get caught?" Arata asked suddenly.
"I was far away at the time. When they noticed me, I immediately ran." The car-buying guy was deathly pale, constantly wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Didn't get bitten by a zombie?"
"N-no, I'm fine."
"Then why are you so nervous?" Saying that, Arata rolled up the sleeve the man had been subconsciously hiding, revealing a small row of bloody bite marks on his arm. "Sure enough, bitten by a zombie."
He then tossed the man's arm aside and shouted toward the house. "Denji, stop studying your nuts and get out here to work."
"What work?"
"Practice on a zombie first."
"A zombie?" Denji came to the doorway looking confused.
"Standing right over there."
Arata pointed at the car-buying guy. The man put on an innocent face, frantically trying to explain himself. "No, I'm not a zombie! I just got bitten once, how could I be a zombie?"
"Yeah, he doesn't look like a zombie to me." Denji had zero killing intent. If told to kill a devil, he'd be decisive, but killing a human was something Denji probably couldn't do.
Thud!! Right in the middle of their conversation, the car-buying guy suddenly dropped to his knees.
"You don't need to kneel, I'm not going to kill you." Denji hurriedly stepped forward to help him up.
But the moment he got close, the man's expression twisted into a grotesque snarl. His body violently launched upward, pouncing right at Denji.
Caught off guard, Denji hurriedly threw up his arms to block. But the foul breath blasting his face made Denji involuntarily frown. He raised his leg and kicked the man back a few steps.
Having fully turned into a zombie, the car-buying guy felt no pain at all and lunged forward again.
"Help!!"
Denji had never killed a zombie before. He turned around and sprinted toward Arata.
Arata sneered. He grabbed Nanako, dragged her into the room, and slammed the door shut.
"Hey!! Open the door!" Denji slammed on the door. Bang bang bang!!
"If you can't even beat a single zombie, don't you dare go around calling me your master," Arata's voice came from inside.
"At least give me a weapon!"
"Your weapon is the pull cord on your chest."
"The pull cord on my chest?"
Before Denji could even understand what he meant, the zombie pounced on him again.
This time, it completely tackled Denji to the ground, its jaws snapping wildly at Denji's neck.
"Dammit, he's so strong." Denji held the zombie's head back with one hand while quickly fumbling for his chest with the other.
He grabbed the cord and yanked it hard.
Vrrr!!!
A scalp-numbing chainsaw roar erupted. Spewing blood, a chainsaw ripped right out of Denji's forehead. His two arms were also armed with chainsaws.
In an instant, the car-buying zombie was shredded into eight pieces by Denji.
Staring at his two razor-sharp chainsaw arms, Denji was both pleasantly surprised and completely blown away.
Only, the surprise quickly turned into terror. Because right at that moment, a massive horde of zombies suddenly flooded into the courtyard.
