"Aunt Nuwa, what's wrong?"
Lady Crane's voice trembled with fear.
In all these years, this was the first time Aunt Nuwa had reacted like this.
As a Grand Healer, she had taken part in many battles. Though she herself was never on the front lines, she had treated wave after wave of the injured. And some had wounds so horrific and deep that most would puke just looking at them. Yet she always remained calm and composed.
So, why did she have to be different today in particular?
Because of this, the worst possible thoughts began to creep into Lady Crane's mind.
Aunt Nuwa also sensed the change in her expression.
Immediately, she released Fyn's wrist and made a reassuring gesture toward Lady Crane.
"No! No. There is nothing to be afraid of. I'm simply surprised at how quickly he recovered. Did you give him anything else besides that herbal decoction?"
As she asked this, her gaze remained fixed on Fyn, as if she had found a new test subject for her experiments.
"Hey, don't give me that look."
Fyn shuddered inwardly, the future ahead suddenly seeming dark and uncertain.
Meanwhile, seeking an answer, Lady Crane turned her head toward the female guard who had come with Aunt Nuwa.
"Jashna…"
"No, my lady, I didn't add anything."
Jashna hurriedly explained, not even waiting to finish being addressed. To her, even a moment's delay might brand her guilty of poisoning the prince.
"Hmm."
Aunt Nuwa nodded.
And began muttering to herself, "Fyn was injured by a mana blast. But the wound wasn't that severe. Not at all. It should have taken some time to heal, not too long, but at least a little.
If there was no change in the herbs, then… could it be that Fyn has become a healer himself? What nonsense am I thinking. If that were the case, he would have rejected my energy from the beginning, but that didn't happen also…"
"…"
Fyn, his mother, and Jashna all looked at one another.
Lady Crane, who had known Aunt Nuwa for a long time, was well aware of her peculiar habits, so she gave the other two a helpless smile.
A smile that clearly said, just ignore her, she's often like this.
However, Fyn had his attention elsewhere.
'This must be that prince's… no, my yandere guard. Right? Give me something, say it's you.'
His gaze grew intense.
Sensing it, a faint blush spread across Jashna's cheeks, and she quickly lowered her head.
'So, you're the one,' Fyn confirmed in his mind.
By now, Aunt Nuwa had finally completed her deep analysis and arrived at a conclusion.
"Luck. Yes, this has to be luck."
All three of them turned toward her with serious expressions, as if they had agreed to do so.
"Cough, cough!"
Aunt Nuwa tried to break the silence, feeling slightly awkward herself.
"Crane, if Fyn wishes, he can rest for a few days. Though, I don't think it will be necessary."
"He will. He has to," Lady Crane said firmly.
Aunt Nuwa understood a mother's love for her child, so she got straight to the point.
"That is up to you. But what I meant to say is, send him to my quarters after a few days. We'll see if he needs any extra care."
She put particular emphasis on extra care.
The checkup was just an excuse, and Lady Crane knew that very well.
But, what choice did she have?
It was an irrefutable fact that her medicine had cured her foolish boy; besides, she was only calling him for an examination.
No matter how she looked at it, she simply couldn't refuse.
"Alright."
Letting out a sigh, she agreed.
"By the way, I suppose I'll have to remind you. Keep your son under control…"
The tone of Aunt Nuwa, who was usually never tense, suddenly turned cold. "If this is some matter between young people, then let it be. But Fyn has only just recovered. If his mana wounds flare up again…"
She paused for a moment before continuing,
"…you, too, know how chaotic that can get."
Hearing this, Lady Crane's fists clenched.
"One more thing, you must restrain yourself from getting involved. That brat, although he doesn't come from any notable family, is a member of the Dragon Slayers Guild. And he has a master as well." Aunt Nuwa patted her shoulder.
As she turned to leave, she added, "Even I would have to think twice about the consequences before crossing him."
The sound of her staff striking the floor gradually faded away.
Lady Crane, too, came out of her daze.
She turned to Jashna. "Keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't get into any trouble."
"And you." She then turned to Fyn and said, "Don't you dare do anything reckless."
But seeing him so absent-minded, her anger slipped, and she smacked him on the head.
"Ouch!"
As Finn was trying to recall the upcoming events from the conversation between Aunt Nuwa and Lady Crane, he let out a scream as a sharp pain struck him.
However, finding his own mother as the attacker, Fyn cursed inwardly.
'Mad woman! Where did that motherly love go? No wonder you had that villainess side in you all along.'
"What? Do you hear a word I'm saying? You're old enough to be married, Fyn, yet here I am, still having to tell you how to act. Look at your fiancée. She's the one trying to calm things down so that the conflict doesn't escalate further." Lady Crane began scolding him.
But the moment Fyn heard the word fiancée, his eyes turned cold.
'That bitch is the root of all this trouble. Damn… why am I losing my mind? The real fault lies with this arrogant, worthless prince who couldn't even control his temper over a little mocking.'
Frustrated by the original owner's idiocy, Fyn calmed himself down as he said to Lady Crane, "I won't make you worry anymore."
She was startled, hearing such assurance from her son for the first time. She wanted to believe his words, though it had never happened before.
Still, this time, she chose to give him one last chance.
"As long as you don't break your promise, I will have no complaints against you," Lady Crane said, her eyes turning slightly moist.
'Stop it, are you trying to make me cry now?' Fyn thought as he nodded in agreement.
Soon, she exited the room, leaving only Fyn and his yandere guard, Jashna, behind.
But he didn't have the time to admire Jashna's beauty again.
Because right in front of him, a blue holographic panel had appeared.
