Chapter 5 - When Fear Becomes a Choice

The lion didn't blink.

Neither did Amir.

For a moment…

Time seemed to freeze.

Then—

The lion moved.

Fast.

One powerful step forward.

Amir's body reacted instantly.

This time—

He ran.

The moment his foot hit the ground, the silence shattered.

Leaves cracked.

Dust rose.

His heartbeat exploded in his chest.

Thump! Thump! THUMP!

Behind him—

Footsteps followed.

Heavy.

Fast.

Relentless.

Amir didn't look back.

He couldn't.

Because if he did…

He knew he would lose everything.

"Please… not now…"

His lungs burned.

His legs ached.

But he kept running.

The voices from earlier were gone.

No help.

No rescue.

Just him.

And the thing chasing him.

The ground beneath him became uneven.

Rocks.

Roots.

Danger at every step.

But something inside him changed.

The fear was still there…

But now…

So was something else.

Determination.

Amir clenched his fists.

"No… I won't fall."

He pushed harder.

Faster.

Suddenly—

A loud roar echoed behind him.

ROOOOAAAR!

The sound shook the valley.

Birds flew away.

The air trembled.

Amir's eyes widened.

"This is it…"

He ran even faster.

His vision blurred.

His breath broke.

But he didn't stop.

Not this time.

Then—

Ahead of him.

A narrow gap between two huge rocks.

A chance.

A small one.

But maybe…

His only one.

Without thinking—

He turned and sprinted toward it.

Behind him—

The lion closed in.

Closer.

Closer.

Amir dove forward—

Barely slipping through the gap.

CRASH!

The lion hit the rocks behind him.

A loud, powerful удар echoed.

Dust filled the air.

Amir rolled to the ground.

Coughing.

Shaking.

Alive.

For a moment…

There was silence again.

Then—

Heavy breathing.

On the other side.

The lion.

Waiting.

Watching.

Amir slowly stood up.

His body was trembling.

But this time—

He didn't run.

He faced it.

On the other side of the rocks.

Separated.

But not safe.

Not yet.

The lion growled softly.

Amir took a deep breath.

And for the first time…

He spoke loudly:

"I'm not afraid anymore."

The lion stared.

The moment stretched.

Then—

Everything went quiet.

Not peace.

Not safety.

Just…

A pause.

Because both of them knew—

This wasn't over.

Not even close.
