Lila's POV
Two days had passed since that kiss with Jax in the laundry room, but it still felt like it had just happened. Every time I closed my eyes, I could feel his lips on mine and the warmth of his hands on my cheeks. I tried not to look for him yesterday during my shift at the dorm, but my eyes kept darting around anyway. He wasn't there. Not in the hallways, not in the gym, not even near his suite. The emptiness made me feel strange — a mix of disappointment and relief.
Right now, I was still sitting in my classroom even though everyone else had already left. Classes had ended twenty minutes ago, but I stayed behind to finish some assignments. The quiet room helped me focus. I was bent over my notebook, writing carefully, when a familiar deep voice suddenly broke the silence.
"Hey, Lila."
A strange shiver ran down my spine. I lifted my head slowly and saw Jax walking toward me with that easy, confident smile on his face. My heart jumped. He pulled out the chair right in front of me and sat down, placing a thick white envelope on the table between us.
"I don't know exactly how much you need," he said casually, "but I hope this is enough. Or you can ask for more if it's not."
I couldn't stop staring at him. How could he act so normal after kissing me like that two days ago? Part of me almost wondered if he regretted it. Maybe he had changed his mind and this money was his way of saying goodbye.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jax waved his hand gently in front of my face, bringing me back to reality.
I blinked and reached for the envelope. When I peeked inside, my eyes widened. There was a lot of cash — way more than I had expected. My hands started to shake a little.
"This is too much, Jax," I said quickly. "I can't take it."
"It's okay," he replied with a small shrug. "Besides, you're borrowing it, so you can use it for whatever you need. You can return it anytime. There's no rush."
I hesitated for a long moment, staring at the envelope. This money would help Mom so much with her hospital bills. It felt like a huge weight lifting off my shoulders. Finally, I slipped it into my backpack, feeling both grateful and nervous at the same time.
"Jax… about the other day in the laundry room—" I started, my voice quiet.
"Did you like it?" he asked, looking genuinely curious about my answer.
My face heated up instantly. "What? Oh… I thought you regretted it," I admitted.
Jax let out a soft laugh. "Me? Regret kissing a sexy girl like you? Are you kidding, Lila? Of course not. Like I said, your lips are my favorite."
My cheeks turned bright red. The compliment made my stomach flutter and sent a warm rush through my body. I could feel myself getting a little wet again, just from his words and the memory of that kiss.
"Was that your first kiss?" he asked gently.
"Yeah…" I said, lowering my head. "I've never had a boyfriend. Who would want a fat girl like me? They'll think I'll just waste their money because I eat a lot."
"Hey, what are you saying?" Jax reached across the table and took my hand, holding it firmly. His touch was warm and steady. "You're beautiful, Lila. Your body isn't fat — it's sexy. You're just insecure."
I looked up at him, my heart beating faster. The way he said it sounded so sincere. His thumb brushed lightly over the back of my hand, making my skin tingle.
"I have a basketball game tomorrow," he continued. "Do you want to come watch? Theo and Miles will be there too. You can sit with them. They'll be really happy if you come."
"But… but I—" I started to protest.
"I stayed with you at the library the other day," he reminded me with a playful smile. "So you have to do this for me too."
"But I didn't ask you to be there," I said softly.
Jax leaned in closer across the table, his face only a few inches from mine. I froze, my breath catching in my throat. His dark eyes locked onto mine.
"You can't refuse," he whispered, "or I'll have Theo and Miles drag you there."
Before I could say anything else, he closed the distance and kissed me again.
This time the kiss felt different — deeper and a little wilder. His tongue gently brushed against my lips, asking to come in. I gasped softly, and he took the chance, sliding his tongue into my mouth. The sensation was new and intense. I tasted him, felt the warmth and confidence in every movement. My eyes fluttered closed as I kissed him back, shy at first but slowly getting lost in it.
One of his hands stayed on mine while the other reached up to cup the side of my face. The classroom was empty and quiet, but my heart was pounding so loudly I was sure he could hear it. Heat spread through my whole body. Between my legs, I was getting wet again — fast and strong. The kiss made my thighs press together under the desk as a fresh wave of slickness soaked my panties.
Jax tilted his head slightly, making the kiss even deeper. His tongue moved against mine in a slow, sensual way that made my head spin. I let out a tiny, involuntary sound into his mouth, and he smiled against my lips before pulling back just enough to look at me.
My face felt burning hot. My lips were tingling, and I was breathing faster than normal. I could still taste him. The wetness between my legs was impossible to ignore now — my panties were completely soaked, and I could feel the dampness against my skin.
Jax rested his forehead against mine for a second, his breath warm. "See you tomorrow at the game, beautiful," he whispered.
He gave my hand one last squeeze, stood up, and walked out of the classroom, leaving me sitting there alone with my racing heart and flushed cheeks.
I stayed frozen in my chair for a long moment, touching my lips again. The second kiss had been even better than the first. Wilder. More passionate. My body was still reacting strongly — nipples tight, thighs trembling slightly, and that deep, aching wetness that always seemed to appear whenever any of them touched me or said nice things.
