Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO — I WILL NEVER KNOW YOU!!

The ship sailed in the vast cold ocean. In a huge box filled with fish lay two lives.

The babies were crying weakly as the cold hit them, shaking aggressively and bleeding from the cut made by their mother.

Waves started, and the ship was wailing up and down. When a bigger wave came, the water entered the ship's deck, pushed the fish box, and the box opened, throwing the babies on different sides of the ship.

The babies cried with the little life they had left in them.

On the south side of the ship, a woman stood talking on the phone. She was tall, beautiful, and elegant. Her name was Nancy.

Nancy was a forty years old woman who was married to a mechanic named Josh. Nancy had always struggled with the fact that she couldn't bear any children.

She lived in a small apartment in New York city together with her husband and her best friend Emma. She worked in a newspaper publishing company. Her lifestyle was just simple and middle classed. If kindness was a person, it definitely could be Nancy.

"I feel so bad, if only you saw how the people in the village are suffering, oh I wish I hadn't come here," Nancy said, failing to hold her emotions together.

Nancy was going to her room, not until she heard a small cry coming from a pool of water.

"Why am I hearing the cry of a baby," she said to herself.

She moved towards the pool in a hurry. When she reached the pool, she saw a box in the middle of the pool. She jumped in the water and got the box.

"Oh my goodness," she said to herself, as she covered her mouth and saw a baby girl lying almost lifeless and shaking.

She ran towards the medics room with the baby in complete panic.

"Peter! Peter!" Nancy called out the medic as she put the baby in the room.

"Oh no, what happened," Peter asked as he came in with clear surprise.

"I don't, I just found her like this," Nancy exclaimed.

"Am sure one of the villagers must have left her. It's very common in war zones," nurse Josephine said, as she checked the baby's temperature.

On the first class floor of the boat, a man stood on the balcony. His name was Carlos Norman Grey. He was the richest man on the boat and the owner of the Life of Riches trading boat. He always came with his wife Kimmie on the cruise.

She was a vibrant, beautiful lady with a pear shaped body and thick figure. Her eyes were blue like the ocean in the Maldives island. When you look at her, you couldn't even tell that she had five kids. All you could see was that she was the wife of a rich tycoon.

"No Jake, I told you to put eight million dollars in the stocks account. What do you mean you put it in the investment account?" Carlos said, talking to his business manager on the phone.

"Sir it's a clear mistake, I will correct it, don't worry," Jake, Carlos's assistant, said.

"Good."

"Honey, dinner is ready," Kimmie called out.

"Ok, coming sweetness."

Carlos and Kimmie sat on the dinner table, laughing and eating their seven thousand dollar caviar they got from a tour in Britain.

"Honey, I was thinking we should go for another family vacation after Louis's wedding."

"Yes we will, sure the kids would love that because Alexa never got the chance to have her come back after she almost fell during sky diving and we all laughed at her," Carlos replied, laughing.

"And don't forget that—"

Before Kimmie could finish, Carlos told her to be quiet and try to hear what he was hearing.

"I can't hear anything Hun," Kimmie said, confused.

"I swear I am hearing the cry of a baby somewhere," Carlos said, looking puzzled.

"A baby? That can't be possible," Kimmie said with a disagreeing look on her face.

"No I swear I can," Carlos said.

He stood up and started walking towards the golf course.

Kimmie followed him behind.

Carlos and Kimmie reached the golf course, and Kimmie was now able to hear the baby.

"Yes honey I can hear the baby now," Kimmie said worriedly, as she started looking around the room in a fuss.

"The voice is coming from there," Carlos said as he rushed into the pool area.

The two entered the pool area and saw a broken wooden box upside down dripping with water.

"Come on, let's check in there," Carlos said.

They got the box; opened it and found a beautiful little soul shivering with a cold, so weak.

"Let's call the doctor," Carlos said as he lifted the baby from the box with complete horror.

Kimmie rushed to the room and called their family doctor.

"What are you going to do, Nancy?" said doctor Peter, as he held the beautiful baby girl in his hands.

"We can take her to a facility care, they can help find her a family," nurse Josephine suggested.

"No," Nancy said as she got the baby from Peter's hands. "She will be my family, my daughter."

"Are you sure, Nancy?" nurse Josephine asked.

"I have dealt with infertility my whole life, I have carried this pain and agony inside me." Nancy looked at the baby in her hands. "I will love her as my own," she said, crying.

"Well if it makes you happy," Peter said as he sat down near her and laid his head on Nancy's shoulder, looking at the baby.

Peter had known Nancy for a long time. She was one of his best friends on the ship, she even helped him to come out to his family that he was gay.

"What are you going to name her?" nurse Josephine asked with teary eyes.

"Ella Carrighton Cade," Nancy said as she got emotional but still smiled.

"It's beautiful," Peter said.

The ship arrived in New York, and everyone started getting off.

"Should we take him as our own?" Carlos asked Kimmie, smiling.

"Well just one more number to the family wouldn't hurt," she replied, looking at the baby in her hands.

"What are we going to name him?" Carlos asked.

"I think Henry will be a good name," said Henry, the family doctor.

Evelyn and Carlos busted out laughing.

"Of course not," Carlos said.

"I think Christian Niklaus will be a good name," Kimmie said, smiling.

"It's perfect, honey." Carlos kissed her and the baby on the forehead.

"Really, Niklaus? As in Klaus from the originals of vampire diaries?, and you add Christian to it?" Doctor Henry said.

They all burst out laughing.

Nancy got off the ship with her beautiful newborn in her hands. She had bought some clothes for the baby from the ship's buy and sale mall.

"I have a surprise for you and Josh," Nancy said as she talked on the phone with her best friend Emma.

She boarded a taxi, and she was soon home.

"Oh my gosh Nancy where did you get the baby?" her best friend Emma asked as she got the baby from her hands.

"I found her on the boat, I don't know who left her there but I decided to take her as my own," she said as she sat on the sofa in the living room.

"Girl this is a newborn her umbilical cord is still attached. How are you going to manage to take care of her?" Emma asked, looking shocked.

Josh came out of his room and looked at Nancy with complete shock.

"Honey what is this?" he said.

"We have our own child now, honey," she said, looking at Josh with teary eyes.

Josh got the baby from Emma.

"She's so perfect," he said, "but where did you find her?"

Josh knew how hurt Nancy was after twenty years of marriage without a child and four miscarriages. He had always hoped God would help them one day, but he was worried that Nancy would've gotten someone's child due to that pain.

"I didn't steal her, honey," she said, laughing. "We went to Abhu village to report the war there and when we were on our way back I heard a cry from a pool which was near my room. That's when I found her in a box crying and hurt."

"It can happen sometimes in war zones. I am sure the mother had to sacrifice her baby and let her go just for the baby to survive," Josh said.

"But what about work, what about everything?" Emma exclaimed.

"Well I was hoping with the help of aunty Emma and daddy Josh I bet I can do it," Nancy said, making a cute face at Emma.

"Fine," Emma said, rolling her eyes and smiling.

"Ok so we are doing this!" Josh said, looking excited.

The four of them came together in excitement and hugged.

A Rolls Royce turned onto a private road with two security cars following behind.

"Mom, dad!" shouted Elsa, the youngest child of Carlos and Kimmie.

Kimmie got out of the car, and Carlos followed behind with little baby Niklaus in his hands.

"What's this?" asked Mable, Carlos's mother and Kimmie's mother-in-law, as she came out of the huge beautiful twenty bedroomed mansion with high end finishes and glass ware.

Carlos called everything for a meeting in the living. The family, together with the workers, stood in the huge sitting room.

"I have called all of you here because today we welcome a new soul in the family," Kimmie said, smiling.

"This is our son, Christian Niklaus Norman Grey," Carlos concluded.

Upon hearing that news, the workers clapped. They were not surprised because Kimmie and Carlos had not been home for months.

"Nina take the baby to the guest room and bath him. I'll be there in a minute," Kimmie said as she handed the baby to one of the house helps.

"You all can leave now and go back to your work stations," Carlos told the workers.

"Now that we are all alone, Mom and Dad, what is this?" Janice, the older daughter, asked.

"Yes we are waiting, tell us," Mable concluded.

"Can you all calm down and let us explain."

"We found him on the ship on our cruise. I think someone from the village where we went left him there because of the war."

Carlos and Kimmie had five children. Janice was the eldest, who was twelve years old, Jaden the second born, who was nine years old, Francis the third born, who was seven years old, Elena the fourth born, who was five years old, and the youngest was Elsa, a tiny little princess who was just a year old.

Carlos and Kimmie's children had grown up in riches. From a very young age they all had some type of car and high tech phone. They never knew any hardship in the world. They lived together as a big family with both Carlos and Kimmie's parents. They were all fourteen in total, living a very luxurious and satisfying life.

"Come on Janice we all know you love big sister duties," Kimmie said, smiling hard at Janice trying to convince her.

"Yes I do," Janice said as she lowered her shoulders and made a cute face.

"Well I guess I have another little guy who will look up to me," Jaden said, smiling.

"Six grandchildren now wow I hope I don't die," Mable said, laughing.

"This calls for a celebration," Mike, Carlos's dad, said.

The whole family was so happy to have another little guy around now.
