[Regional Channel (Crimson Dawn)]

[You Ashe I Soraka]: "Holy... shit."

[How Many Floors Can You Carry a Sack of Rice]: "Holy shit."

[Optimus Lemme Pilot You Real Hard]: "Holy shit."

[Have You Been Loyal Today?]: "......"

[Execute Old Man the War Criminal]: "..."

[Grandfather Nurgle Loves All]: "Is this seriously... the kind of power you need to beat a Primarch?"

[The Imperium's Last Gambler]: "Depends on which Primarch we're talking about."

"Sanguinius fighting a Greater Daemon looks exactly like this, and so does the Lion. But our guy Paul was literally down in the Underhive fighting Tzeentch cultists just twenty-four years ago."

[Don't Ask Me My Orky Senses Tell Me It'll Work]: "Wait, so could a Living Saint on Saint Celestine's level pull something like this off?"

[The Imperium's Last Gambler]: "Uh... probably..."

"Living Saints get supercharged by Big E, so they do bonus damage against Chaos. Against a Khorne Greater Daemon of this tier, they'd probably look about as broken as Paul does right now..."

[The Imperium's Last Gambler]: "Which means... Paul is basically on par with a Living Saint getting directly piloted by the Emperor himself..."

[The Emperor's Tax Must Be Paid Even if the World Ends]: "...Fuck. I always knew Paul was overpowered, but I didn't realize he was this overpowered."

[Has White Scars Sped Today]: "So... when he told that monkey earlier that it was ten thousand times easier to beat than Lorgar..."

[Has White Scars Sped Today]: "He literally meant it mathematically?"

The channel went completely silent for three seconds.

[Schrödinger's Loyalist]: "Everyone, focus on clearing the field."

[Schrödinger's Loyalist]: "Paul isn't done with his fight yet."

[Schrödinger's Loyalist]: "If you want the lore drop, wait until we get back and have him do an after-action review. You can ask him to his face."

--

In the center of the Royal Court Plaza.

Paul watched the two Battlefield Tyrants still frozen in place. He slowly pulled his gaze away from Charles.

"What are you standing around for?"

His voice was completely flat, even carrying a hint of relaxation.

"I never said we were done."

The two Greater Daemons physically flinched, simultaneously taking a step backward as if startled by his words.

Paul watched them retreat but didn't bother laughing at them.

He just tightened his grip on the Watcher's Axe, the dark gold, five-winged phantom behind him stretching out once again.

"Now..."

The rotation of the five stars deep within his dark gold pupils slowly stabilized.

"It's your turn."

"How do you want to die?!"

Paul didn't give them a chance to answer.

The dark gold wings of light fully unfurled behind him, spanning over six hundred feet. The edges of every single feather of light dripped with psychic brilliance that looked like falling stardust.

Wrath of Khorne and Rabid Bloodlust both felt that suffocating, world-ending pressure crushing down on them.

Wrath of Khorne let out a roar like a dying animal. The profane hellfire wrapped around its double-bladed battle axes flared up three times its normal size.

It didn't run.

Khorne's creations never ran.

It simply lowered its forty-foot frame to the absolute limit. Thick, blood-like crimson energy poured from the seams of its brass plating, condensing along the edges of its blades into a hundred-foot bloody arc.

This was its ultimate trump card...

The Wrath of the Blood God.

It was going to use this swing to annihilate this golden insect, along with those ridiculous wings of light behind him—

Paul vanished.

It was a speed so blistering that even the compound eyes of a Khorne Greater Daemon could only track a blur of dark gold.

Before Wrath of Khorne could even bring its axe down, it felt a terrifying, shuddering force smash directly into its chest.

It was the Watcher's Axe.

The exact second the blade bit into the brass chest plate, the disruption field and the five-trait psychic energy detonated simultaneously.

CRACK!

The sound of the armor shattering sounded exactly like a skull being cleanly snapped in half.

Wrath of Khorne looked down.

It saw the massive gouge tearing straight through its chest, running from its collarbone all the way down below its ribs.

It saw the dark gold fire clinging to the edges of the wound rapidly spreading outward.

It saw its profane flesh physically melting away inside those flames.

"GRAAAAGH!!!"

It roared wildly, swinging its battle axes in a frantic bid to force this golden reaper back.

But Paul merely tilted his body.

The first swing shaved right past his pauldron, causing a single ripple to flare across his psychic shielding without leaving a scratch.

The second swing came in horizontally at his waist.

Paul didn't even bother dodging.

He just let his dark gold psychic armor eat the hit entirely...

CLANG!!!

The ear-splitting crash of metal on metal generated a shockwave that blew every Dal corpse within a hundred and fifty feet completely away.

Wrath of Khorne's compound eyes practically bulged out of its skull.

Its absolute maximum-effort strike, a guaranteed kill-shot capable of cleaving straight through the main armor of a Warhound Titan...

Slammed into the psychic shielding of this golden bug.

And left a scratch maybe a tenth of an inch deep.

And a second later, right before its very eyes, the psychic energy flowing across the armor… completely erased the scratch.

"Is this really your ultimate move?"

Paul's voice drifted out from behind the golden faceplate. It was calm. Almost… disappointed.

"You sacrificed an ocean of blood to summon yourselves into realspace."

"Just to show me how dull your axe is?"

Wrath of Khorne's compound eyes completely dissolved into mindless, irrational crimson.

Its consciousness was swallowed by absolute rage.

It dropped its battle axes. Using its remaining arms, its teeth, its skull, and every single inch of moving profane muscle left on its mangled body... it threw itself at Paul, frantically trying to bite and tear his armor apart.

Paul didn't take a single step back.

He just stood there and let this forty-foot Greater Daemon climb all over him like a rabid animal, biting, clawing, and smashing against him.

For every ounce of dark gold psychic energy stripped from his armor, three more instantly surged from deep within his chest to replace it.

Every single one of Wrath of Khorne's attacks was like trying to melt a glacier with a matchstick.

Thirty seconds later.

Paul raised his left hand and clamped his fingers onto that hideous, ram-horned skull.

"Are you done throwing your tantrum?"

The Watcher's Axe drove straight up from below.

Schlick...

The blade punched through the bottom of the Daemon's jaw, skewered its cranial cavity, and busted cleanly out through the top of its skull.

Wrath of Khorne's massive body instantly locked up.

Those compound eyes, previously drowning in madness, actually cleared up for a brief, fleeting second.

It stared at the golden creature in front of it.

Over countless eons, it had butchered an endless number of champions.

Eldar, Ork Big Meks, Nurgle Daemons, and even a few arrogant upstarts who dared challenge the Blood God himself.

It never once thought a day like this would come... where it would be...

Hacked to death by a human.

"Blood... for..."

A pathetic whimper squeezed out of the depths of its throat.

"...the... Blood... God..."

Paul twisted his wrist.

BOOM!!!

Dark gold hellfire erupted outward from the axe blade, instantly swallowing Wrath of Khorne's entire body.

The profane flesh rapidly carbonized and disintegrated within the flames.

Its heavy brass plating melted into pools of dark red slag, sliding down the rapidly collapsing skeleton.

That grotesque head stared at Paul one last time through the inferno.

And then, it dissolved into a wisp of deep red essence, fleeing back toward the Warp rift inside the pyramid gates at a speed the naked eye couldn't even track.

Paul didn't try to stop it.

His eyes shifted to the final Daemon: Rabid Bloodlust.

This Battlefield Tyrant, the one hoisting the spiked warhammer over its shoulder, had just watched Unfettered Fury get one-shot and Wrath of Khorne get hacked into literal ash...

And yet, it let out a roaring bellow and charged straight at Paul. Khorne's Daemons never retreated.

Propelled by the Blood God's blessing, its forty-foot frame exploded forward with terrifying speed.

Every single one of its footsteps left thirty-foot, spiderweb-cracked craters in the bedrock.

Boom!

Paul slowly stood up straight, spinning the Watcher's Axe in a flawless 360-degree arc.

The dark gold flames burning along the edge of the blade raged fiercer than ever before.

Rabid Bloodlust roared.

It hoisted its spiked warhammer, the one caked in pulverized bone dust, and dumped every last drop of profane energy it had left into a single, devastating overhead swing...

BOOM!!!

The warhammer smashed directly onto the horizontally raised haft of Paul's axe.

The resulting shockwave violently blasted outward, completely leveling the few half-collapsed structures still standing in the Royal Court Plaza.

The bedrock rippled and flipped outward like ocean waves. Huge fissures spiderwebbed out from the impact zone, tearing through the ground for a thousand feet in every direction.

The ground directly beneath Paul's feet caved in by a foot and a half.

And that was it.

His knees didn't even bend.

"This hammer strike."

Paul looked up, his dark gold eyes locking onto those violently twitching compound eyes.

"Is way too light compared to Lorgar's."

Rabid Bloodlust had no idea who Lorgar was.

All it knew was that its absolute, maximum-effort strike couldn't even force this golden creature to take a single step back.

"My turn."

Paul dropped his defensive stance.

Wrapped entirely in dark gold psychic fire, the Watcher's Axe carved a perfect crescent through the air...

It cleaved in through the left shoulder and blew out through the right ribcage.

Rabid Bloodlust's body was sliced diagonally into two clean pieces. Its upper half slowly slid right off the cut, crashing onto the ground and kicking up a massive splash of deep red demonic gore.

Its compound eyes were still flickering. Its consciousness hadn't fully dissipated yet.

It stared as its own lower half remained standing, the profane energy bleeding from its brass plating venting uncontrollably into the air.

Its entire body began to rapidly break down and disintegrate.

The compound eyes on Rabid Bloodlust's severed head flickered one last time before dying out completely.

That final wisp of deep red Warp essence flew straight back into the rift.
