Chapter 69 - Chapter 69. Ghost

Aadhya's POV

I could hear voices somewhere nearby.

Maybe Avi and the others.

Relief hit me for a second, and without thinking I let go of Vivaan's shirt and walked a little ahead. He was just behind me.

There was a door in front of me.

I pushed it open and stepped through—

THUD.

It slammed shut behind me.

I froze.

"Vivaan…?" I turned instantly and knocked on the door. "Vivaan! Are you there?"

No response for a second.

My heartbeat started rising again.

"Vivaan! Hey—are you there?" I knocked harder, my voice already trembling.

"Aadhya, don't cry. Move away from the door," his voice came from the other side.

Relief.

I quickly stepped back.

He tried to force it open. I could hear the thuds, the effort—but it didn't budge.

"Vivaan…" my voice broke again, "I'm scared…"

The darkness around me felt heavier now. Like it was closing in.

"Fuck… Aadhya, don't be scared. I'll go around and come from the other side. Don't worry, I'll find you."

Wait.

What?

He's… leaving?

"No—no! Don't leave me here alone, please!" I begged instantly, panic rising again.

"Aadhya, listen to me. If I stay here, we won't get out. Just wait. I'll find you."

No…

No no no…

"Aadhya, I'm going," he said.

And then—

silence.

I stood there, staring at the door like it would open again.

But it didn't.

The darkness felt worse now.

Colder.

My breathing turned uneven again. My hands started trembling.

"Calm down… calm down…he said he'll find you ....." I whispered to myself, trying to hold it together.

I could hear footsteps somewhere.

Maybe someone was there.

I started walking in that direction, slowly… carefully…

And then—

THUD.

I bumped into someone and we both fell.

"Ah—my head!" I muttered, holding my forehead before looking up.

"Bhavik?!"

Relief hit me instantly.

I didn't even think—I just hugged him.

He stiffened for a second and then gently pushed me away.

Okay… message received.

Still… I was just glad I wasn't alone.

"Where are the others?" I asked, my voice still shaky.

"That's the problem… I got lost," he replied.

Great.

Just great.

"Let's find them," I said, trying to sound normal, but the moment I stood up—

my legs gave up.

I stumbled back, barely able to stand.

"Hey, are you okay? You can lean on me if you want," he offered his hand.

I was about to take it—

when—

"Aadhya!"

I froze.

That voice.

I turned.

Vivaan.

He came straight to me without stopping—and before I could even react, he pulled me into a tight hug.

My body didn't even think.

I hugged him back instantly.

Tightly.

"Damnit… I thought I almost lost you," he muttered.

I heard it.

Every word.

For a second, everything else faded.

The fear.

The darkness.

Everything.

And then—

"…Are you dating?"

Bhavik.

Oh God.

Reality hit instantly.

I pulled away.

He did too.

Awkward silence.

He helped me stand properly, his grip still steady.

We finally found the exit and stepped out.

Fresh air.

Light.

I exhaled slowly, feeling my body finally calm down.

But one thing didn't change—

Vivaan didn't let go of my hand.

Not until we were completely out.

We were finally out, sitting on the benches outside the exit, waiting for the others.

And it was… awkward.

Very awkward.

Silence.

All because of this Vivaan.

Why did he have to overreact like that? Hugging me like I was about to disappear or something. And now he's sitting there, all quiet, like he's solving some life problem in his head.

Weird.

I spotted Avi and the others coming out and immediately walked up to them.

"Why did you leave me alone?" I snapped at Avi.

"It's because you ran so fast," he replied casually.

Excuse me??

I sighed. Honestly… I was really scared back there. If something had happened… I don't even know if I could've handled it.

"Are you going to ride the Ferris wheel?" Neel asked.

I instinctively looked at Vivaan.

He had refused earlier.

But now… he was just staring at me.

Like he was waiting for my answer. Honestly after what happened I think don't feel like riding it anymore...

I looked away.

"I think we should head home… it's getting late," I said softly.

"What? But you wanted to ride it!" Avi protested immediately. "Come on, let's go. Maybe we won't get this chance again!"

Hmm.

He wasn't wrong.

This… all of us together like this… doesn't happen often.

Before I could say anything—

"Let's go. We'll ride it," Vivaan said, already standing up and walking ahead.

Huh?

What's with him now?

Avi got excited instantly and dragged me along. Soon we were standing in the line—me and Avi at the front, others behind us.

The line was huge.

I stared ahead. "We're never getting our turn…"

Before I could complain more, Nikansh casually walked ahead and started talking to people in the line.

I watched, confused.

He said something, glanced at me, smirked—and suddenly people started stepping out.

Wait… what??

Then the others joined him.

And within minutes—

the line was almost gone.

I stared at them, shocked.

Wow.

Who knew these idiots were actually useful?

Then Vivaan stepped in.

One wink.

That's it.

And a group of girls just… gave up their place.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

Wow. Using charm now?

He looked at me and smirked.

Idiot.

But… I couldn't lie.

I was happy.

We got our turn quickly, and I ran inside first and took a seat.

Then I looked up.

No one was coming in.

What are they doing now?

Outside, they were literally pushing each other like kids over who gets to sit.

Seriously?

Then Vivaan walked in and sat opposite me.

For a second, I felt like getting off.

Why is this suddenly awkward again?

Before I could react, Nikansh came in and sat beside me.

Then Dj took the other side.

Door almost closed—

and suddenly—

"Aye wait!"

Avi jumped in.

He looked around.

No space.

Then looked at me.

"I'll sit on you," he declared.

"WHAT—"

Too late.

He plopped right onto my lap.

"Avi! You're heavy!" I snapped, trying to push him off.

"Avi, get off her," Nikansh said.

"Avi, get off," Dj added.

"Don't move," Vivaan said.

Huh?

Before I could process that, the Ferris wheel started moving.

I looked around.

And wow…

The view.

Lights everywhere. The whole amusement park glowing below us.

I smiled instantly.

This… was actually worth it.

We reached the top—

and suddenly—

THUD.

Everything stopped.

"What?" I blinked.

"Why did it stop?"

Everyone looked around.

Then Vivaan's phone rang.

He picked it up immediately.

"What happened…? What the—so now we're stuck here? Tell them to fix this thing now!" he snapped, clearly annoyed.

"Technical issue?" Nikansh asked.

Vivaan nodded.

I sighed.

"How long are we stuck here?" I asked.

"That… they didn't say," Vivaan replied.

Suddenly my phone rang.

I looked at the screen.

Reyansh.

Oh great.

I picked it up. "Hello… ha Reyansh, I'm at an amusement park," I said casually.

("Wow. Great," he replied )sarcastically. ("Tell me the name. I'll come pick you up. It's already late.")

I paused. "Umm… I don't know the name…"

Because of course I didn't.

That idiot Avi had dragged me in without letting me even look at the entrance.

("Then ask someone ,idiot," he said, clearly annoyed.)

Before I could reply—

"Don't move," Vivaan suddenly snapped at Avi.

Reyansh caught it.

("Who's that? Is that Vivaan?")

"Huh? Yeah… we're on the Ferris wheel," I said.

But before I could explain properly—

"Ahhh Adi…" Vivaan suddenly said in a weirdly dramatic, low voice.

I turned to him. "What's your problem?"

Ignoring him, I continued, "Hey, others are here too—"

"Ahh no Adi don't go there… shit, don't touch there…" Vivaan continued, even worse now.

I glared at him.

Damnit he was making it worse. As if were.doing something obscene.

Others?

Of course they were enjoying it.

Avi and Dj were literally trying not to laugh.

("Adhya, what are you doing?" )Reyansh asked sharply from the other side.

"I TOLD you I'm on the Ferris wheel!" I snapped, frustrated.

("Shit. I'm coming to get you," he said.)

Before I could stop him—

Vivaan snatched my phone.

"HEY! Give it back!" I snapped.

He ignored me.

"Can you call later… Adi and I are busy," he said casually.

My eyes widened.

"Stop it—" I tried to grab it.

"Oooh stop, Adi…" he added in that same dangerous slow tone.

Cut.Reyansh disconnected.Silence.

Then—

laughter.

Loud.

Annoying.

I turned to Vivaan, furious. "Give. My. Phone."

He handed it back like nothing happened.

This guy seriously has a screw loose.

Avi shifted a bit, finally giving space.

I stood up slightly to adjust—

And suddenly—

The Ferris wheel jerked.

I lost balance and fell.

"Hey—"

Before I could recover—

It moved again.

I slipped again.

Now it was shaking.

Like we were inside a blender.

My head started spinning.

Everything happened too fast.

And then—

Vivaan lost his balance.

And fell—

Right on me.

I froze.

My hands instinctively went to his chest too steady him. Or he might just straight fall on me.

We were—

too close.

Like…

too close.

If either of us moved even a little—

We'd literally kiss.

For a second—

everything just stopped.

The noise.

The movement.

My thoughts.

We just stared at each other.

Then suddenly—

The Ferris wheel started moving again.

We both pulled away instantly.

And before I could even process what just happened—

The cabin reached the ground.

The door opened.

And there—

stood Reyansh.

His face?

Pure fury.

His eyes moved from me…

to Vivaan…and back.

Oh no.Trouble.

Definitely trouble.
