Chapter 39 - Chapter 39. Second Chance

Aadhya's POV

The morning felt unusually light, like even the air had decided to vibe with me. I was cycling toward school, humming a tune under my breath—something dramatic, something filmy, something that made me feel like the main character of my own chaos.

"Jo teri khatir tadpe pehle se hi… kya use tadpana… o zaalima…"

Yeah, that one. Perfect for the mood.

The road was slightly wet from last night's rain, the breeze hitting my face just right, and for once—once—nothing felt like a disaster waiting to happen.

And then… I saw him.

That same "Indian-but-foreign-but-mysterious" guy from yesterday. Sitting in his car. Looking straight at me. Again.

Excuse me??

For a second, I slowed down, narrowing my eyes at him. He noticed. Obviously. And what did he do?

He just… drove away.

Like a suspicious background character in a thriller movie.

"Okay, that's not normal," I muttered to myself, pedaling faster now. "Definitely not normal. Either he's lost again… or he's a thief… or worse—a rich thief."

I mentally made a note to tell Reyansh. He looked like the type who could casually investigate people like this over breakfast.

Shaking off the weirdness, I rushed to school, still humming the same song like nothing ever happened. Because priorities.

The moment I entered the classroom, chaos greeted me like an old friend.

And then—Avi.

"Good morning!" he said, smiling like he just walked out of a toothpaste ad.

I blinked.

Too sweet. Suspiciously sweet.

"Good morning," I replied in the most robotic voice possible and walked past him like a government officer rejecting applications.

I sat down, dropping my bag, and my eyes automatically drifted to the back.

Samar.

Still the same.

Still quiet. Still lost.

Didn't they talk yesterday? Wasn't there supposed to be emotional drama, tears, maybe a little Bollywood background music?

Avi followed my gaze like a detective.

"Do you have a crush on Samar?" he asked casually.

I turned slowly. Very slowly.

"Crush?? Just like that?? Can your brain generate something new for once?" I snapped.

Honestly. People see two humans exist in the same room and immediately—love story.

I rolled my eyes and stood up. Nature was calling. Urgently.

I marched to the washroom like a queen heading to her throne—and yes, cubicle = throne.

Settling in, I noticed something written on the door.

Curiosity activated.

"I love you Samar."

Okay, fan club.

"I love you my Nikky."

Wow. Dedicated audience.

Then—

"Sexy Vivaan"

"My hero Vivaan"

"Prince charming Vivaan"

What the hell.

I stared at the door, genuinely impressed.

"Bro has a whole fandom running inside a washroom."

And then—

"Touch my Vivaan."

I choked.

"Okay, that escalated very fast."

Do they even know about this???

And just like that… an idea sparked.

A dangerous one.

A brilliant one.

I quickly took photos of everything. Evidence. Pure gold.

Then, I smirked.

Placed my phone carefully inside the box, turned on voice recording… and added my own little spice to the wall.

Now, all I had to do…

Was wait for Riya.

Drama loading.

I walked out, washed my hands like a civilized human, and headed back—already imagining the chaos.

On the way, I spotted Mahi.

"Hey Mahi! How are you?" I asked, genuinely smiling.

It had been a while.

He didn't smile back.

"I'm fine."

Dry. Cold. Done.

And he walked past me.

…Okay?

I followed him.

"Hey, why don't you talk to me anymore? Did I annoy you? Hurt you? Feed you something expired? What happened?"

Nothing.

Not even a glance.

He just kept walking.

I stopped.

Something felt off.

Really off.

But before I could overthink it, I went back to class—only to be pulled into another situation.

Samar.

Standing in front of me. Nervous.

"Can we talk?"

I nodded.

And just like that, I was dragged into yet another emotional rollercoaster—this time near the stairs, where he looked like he was about to confess his sins to the universe.

"I'm nervous," he admitted.

I blinked.

"No way."

He ran a hand through his hair. "We talked… we cried… I asked for another chance. But I don't know if she'll accept."

I softened a little.

"Didn't she say she'll text or call you?"

He shook his head.

Silence.

Then I sighed.

"Do you want me to talk to her?"

He didn't answer.

Typical.

"Okay then. I'll talk to her."

That got his attention instantly.

"Thank you."

We walked back, classes dragged on like a punishment, and finally—lunch.

But before that… mission washroom.

I ran back, grabbed my phone—safe—and checked the recording.

And oh.

Oh.

Jackpot.

Riya's voice. Clear. Angry. Loud.

Confession—delivered by herself.

I smirked.

"Game over."

With that, I walked toward the music room, already imagining Reyansh's face when he hears this.

Avi and DJ already sitting like kings.

"What's that?" DJ asked.

I didn't answer.

I just pressed play.

"WHAT THE FFUCCKKKK… who the hell has the audacity to call me a slut. I'm sure it must be that Aadhya only, she has that much courage to go against me…"

Avi froze.

DJ leaned forward.

Recording continued—

"Or it must be Yuvika. She is the one you called slut."

"Hmm you're right. It must be her. She thinks she is the queen since she has Reyansh… ughhh… Yuvika the slut!"

I stopped it.

Silence.

Then—

Avi EXPLODED laughing.

DJ followed.

And me?

I smirked. Slowly. Dangerously.

"Evidence."

"For Reyansh."

"For Jiya."

DJ looked impressed. "You're dangerous."

"I know."

Avi clapped. "Criminal mastermind."

"Thank you," I bowed dramatically.

"NOW CAN WE EAT??"

I threw his lunch at him.

Also gave DJ one. Yes I'm kind. Rare moment.

We ate. Laughed. Fought. Peaceful chaos.

Then—

"Adi…"

I turned.

Jiya.

Instant smile. Sent the idiots away.

She hugged me. Tight.

Oh.

Okay. Heart melt moment.

"How was it?" I asked.

"I wanted your opinion…"

I sighed.

"Your life. Your decision. I won't decide."

She listened.

"He's an idiot…"

Pause.

"…but he loves you."

She smiled. Small. Soft.

And handed me a letter.

Her decision.

OH MY GOD.

I RAN back.

Samar sitting like dead soul.

I smacked his head.

He glared.

I showed letter.

And BOOM—light in his eyes.

He grabbed me and DRAGGED me.

"HEY I CAN WALK???"

No respect.

Music room again.

We stood there praying like exam results depend on it.

He just… stared at the letter.

ONE minute.

TWO minute.

FIVE MINUTES.

"OPEN IT."

Silence.

"If you don't I WILL."

He snatched it back. "No."

"THEN OPEN IT DAMNIT!!!"

Finally—he opened it.

I stared at his face.

Seconds passed.

Then—

TEARS.

OH NO.

PANIC MODE ACTIVATED.

"Samar… what happened??"

He looked at me.

Crying.

Smiling.

"She… she gave me another chance."

"WHATTTTTTTT???"

I JUMPED.

Like literally JUMPED.

He laughed.

FINALLY.

LAUGHED.

I pointed at him. "You hurt her again I'll bury you alive."

He laughed harder.

And I smiled.

Finally.

Peace.

We walked back.

Everyone noticed.

Samar smiling.

Storm over.

He went to his friends.

I went to mine.

And within 2 seconds—

"Golgappa is better."

"No MOMOS are better."

"YOU HAVE NO TASTE."

Chaos resumed.

As always. 😌
