Before you begin this chapter, I want to thank every one of you who has been reading "Touch Me Like a Sin." Your support, votes, and comments mean a lot to me. ❤️
In the previous chapters, the tension in Nocturne has only grown darker and more dangerous. Luna's mysterious past is slowly revealing itself, and Brevis Draven is getting pulled deeper into a storm he never expected. And just when things couldn't get more complicated… a new name enters the city.
Adrian Kross.
Trust me, his arrival will change everything. Secrets will start surfacing, loyalties will be tested, and Luna's past will collide with her present in ways no one is ready for.

Dawn slowly crept over Nocturne.
For the first time that night, the rain had stopped completely. Pale orange sunlight touched the tops of skyscrapers while the streets below slowly returned to life.
Inside the penthouse, the damage from the fight still remained.
Broken glass sparkled across the marble floor.
Bullet holes scarred the walls.
One of Brevis's guards finished checking the hallway before approaching him.
"Sir, the building is secure."
Brevis nodded.
"Good."
The guard hesitated.
"We've taken the bodies."
"And?"
"We identified one of them."
Brevis's eyes sharpened slightly.
"Who?"
"Marcus Kade."
Brevis went completely still.
For a brief moment, something dangerous flashed in his expression.
Luna noticed immediately.
"You know him," she said quietly.
Brevis didn't answer right away.
Instead he walked toward the window and looked down at the city.
"Yes," he finally said.
"Unfortunately."
Luna leaned against the nearby desk.
"That doesn't sound good."
"It isn't."
The guard continued carefully.
"Marcus works for the Valen Syndicate."
The room became quiet.
Luna's expression changed.
Only slightly.
But Brevis saw it.
"You've heard of them," he said.
Luna didn't look surprised.
"Yes."
Brevis turned toward her.
"And you still claim you don't know why they want you?"
Luna crossed her arms.
"I said some people think I stole something."
Brevis studied her face closely.
"You stole from the Valen Syndicate?"
Luna sighed.
"That makes it sound worse than it is."
Brevis laughed softly.
"They're one of the most powerful criminal networks in Europe."
"I'm aware."
"And you robbed them."
"I prefer the word borrowed."
Brevis shook his head slowly.
"You're unbelievable."
"Yet you're still helping me."
"That's the confusing part."
One of the guards interrupted carefully.
"Sir… there's something else."
Brevis looked at him.
"What?"
"We searched Marcus's phone."
"And?"
The guard hesitated.
"There was a message sent just before the attack."
Brevis stepped closer.
"From who?"
The guard swallowed.
"It only had one word."
"What word?"
The guard looked toward Luna.
Then back at Brevis.
"Luna."
The room went silent.
Luna frowned slightly.
"That's not helpful."
Brevis disagreed.
"It means whoever sent them knew exactly who you were."
"That's obvious."
"No," Brevis said quietly.
"It's not."
He turned toward his guard.
"Who sent the message?"
"We couldn't trace it."
Brevis's expression darkened.
"That means it came from someone powerful."
The guard nodded.
"Yes, sir."
Brevis dismissed him with a small gesture.
"Leave us."
The guard stepped out of the room.
Now only Luna and Brevis remained.
The early morning light filled the damaged penthouse.
Luna walked slowly toward the kitchen.
"Do you have coffee?"
Brevis almost smiled.
"You're very relaxed for someone being hunted by an international syndicate."
"Coffee helps."
Brevis poured two cups anyway.
He handed one to her.
"You should probably leave the city."
Luna took a sip.
"That sounds familiar."
"This time I'm serious."
"So am I."
Brevis leaned against the counter.
"You don't understand who you're dealing with."
"Actually," Luna said calmly, "I do."
"And yet you're staying."
"Yes."
Brevis shook his head.
"You're either very brave or very reckless."
Luna raised her cup slightly.
"Both."
Brevis watched her for a long moment.
"You stole something important."
"Yes."
"What was it?"
Luna hesitated.
Then she set the cup down.
"A list."
Brevis frowned.
"A list of what?"
"Names."
His expression changed immediately.
"What kind of names?"
"Important ones."
Brevis's eyes narrowed.
"Politicians?"
"Yes."
"Business leaders?"
"Yes."
"Crime bosses?"
Luna nodded.
"Yes."
Brevis slowly exhaled.
"You stole a blackmail list."
"Exactly."
"That's suicide."
"It was necessary."
Brevis stared at her.
"You're full of surprises."
"That's what you said earlier."
Brevis walked closer.
"So where is this list?"
Luna smiled slightly.
"Safe."
"That's not reassuring."
"It shouldn't be."
Brevis leaned against the desk beside her.
"You realize the Valen Syndicate will never stop looking for it."
"I know."
"And now they know you're in my city."
"That's unfortunate."
Brevis chuckled quietly.
"You bring chaos everywhere you go."
"Apparently."
The two of them stood in silence for a moment.
Then Brevis said something unexpected.
"You can stay here."
Luna looked at him.
"That's a terrible idea."
"Probably."
"They'll keep coming."
"Good."
"You enjoy this too much."
Brevis's eyes met hers.
"I enjoy interesting things."
Luna shook her head slowly.
"You're not normal."
"Neither are you."
The tension between them returned again.
Different now.
Stronger.
Finally Luna asked,
"Why are you really helping me?"
Brevis didn't answer immediately.
Instead he looked out toward the waking city.
Then he spoke quietly.
"Because someone tried to attack my home."
"That's pride."
"Partly."
"And the other reason?"
Brevis turned toward her.
His voice was calm.
"But honest."
"You walked into my city like you owned the darkness."
He stepped closer.
"And I want to know why."
Luna looked at him carefully.
"You won't like the answer."
"That's never stopped me."
Before Luna could reply—
Brevis's phone suddenly rang.
He answered it calmly.
"Yes."
A tense voice spoke on the other end.
"Sir… we have a problem."
Brevis's eyes darkened slightly.
"What kind of problem?"
"Someone just arrived in Nocturne."
Brevis waited.
The man continued nervously.
"He's asking about Luna Vale."
Brevis glanced toward Luna.
"Who is he?"
There was a brief pause.
Then the voice answered quietly.
"Adrian Kross."
Luna's coffee cup slipped slightly in her hand.
For the first time since arriving in Nocturne—
She looked genuinely worried.
Brevis noticed immediately.
"You know him."
Luna didn't deny it.
"Yes."
Brevis lowered the phone slowly.
"Who is Adrian Kross?"
Luna's voice became quieter.
"Someone far more dangerous than the Valen Syndicate."
Brevis raised an eyebrow.
"That's impressive."
Luna looked toward the window.
The city now fully awake beneath the sunlight.
"He's not here for the list."
Brevis crossed his arms.
"Then why is he here?"
Luna's expression darkened slightly.
"Because he's here for me."
And somewhere in the shadows of Nocturne—
A man named Adrian Kross had just arrived.
And unlike the others…
He didn't plan to ask Luna for anything.
He planned to take her back.
