Chapter 7 - basketball game

Spoiled children decided to go to the basketball court. When they arrived, they went into the locker room, which was like one big room. They started changing. Despite their young age, their bodies were well-developed: abs like professional football players, thighs muscular but not too much.

Denis came into the locker room with cotton in his nose, along with Seryoga and Vaska.

— Let's play basketball? — said Denis.

The spoiled kids looked at them, and Sasha asked:

— Sure. What are we playing for?

Seryoga smirked:

— Maybe for girls? The losers have to kiss whoever the winning team chooses. Want that?

— We do, — Vlad replied.

They shook hands, and Denis separated them like people do when confirming a bet, sealing the deal.

When they went out to play, the spoiled kids exchanged glances and agreed to break Seryoga's glasses.

They placed the ball in the center. The game began.

Alex immediately ran toward the hoop. Denis chased him and almost fell. Alex passed the ball to Vaska, and he scored a two-pointer.

The game continued. Vlad ran very fast and scored as well, but the score was already 40 for the regular kids and 39 for the spoiled ones.

Then Kirill decided to break Seryoga's glasses. He walked up to him and pushed him so that Seryoga hit the net. His glasses fell, and Maksim stepped on them.

— You're playing unfair! You can't do that! — Denis protested.

Sasha replied coldly:

— Shut up. We know better.

At that moment, Oleg came onto the court. Silently, he walked over to Seryoga, helped him up, and led him to a room to give him new glasses.

The room was quiet. Too quiet.

At first, Seryoga didn't notice anything, but once inside, he suddenly felt something strange—as if all sound from outside had disappeared. Even Oleg's footsteps sounded muffled, like underwater.

Oleg closed the door.

— Sit down, — he said calmly.

His voice was even… but there was something strange about it. It didn't pressure—it seemed to wrap around you.

Seryoga sat down.

Oleg took out the glasses and handed them to him, but didn't let go immediately. For a moment, their eyes met.

And at that moment, Seryoga seemed to… freeze.

His thoughts slowed down. Blurred. As if someone had gently turned down the volume inside his head.

— Everything is fine, — Oleg said quietly.

Seryoga blinked.

— Yeah… fine, — he repeated, without even thinking why he answered like that.

Oleg let go of the glasses.

— Go. The game is almost over.

When Seryoga returned, he was calmer. Too calm. And already wearing new glasses.

Vlad smirked:

— Since we won, Denis, go ahead and kiss Adaline.

Denis blushed but couldn't refuse—a bet is a bet. He walked up to her, quickly kissed her, and ran away.

The spoiled kids started laughing and decided not to give more dares, because otherwise they'd just die laughing.

After that, Vlad decided to go to the library. Elizabeth was already there. He sat next to her and picked up the book "Brave New World" by Huxley.

— You haven't read this book? — Elizabeth asked.

— No, I have, — Vlad replied. — But in English. I decided to read it in Russian. What are you reading?

— I decided to take Georgian literature. I only really like Shota Rustaveli and his "The Knight in the Panther's Skin."
