Chapter 64 - One-Shotting

"Using an ultimate move?"

Andromath and Sandar were hearing the term for the first time, but Raymond and Zaldimar were already quite familiar with it. Sometimes, Wayne would even use it as an excuse when he stepped out to use the restroom...

Nevertheless, everyone immediately gathered around. Marlin kept guessing whether the "Phoenix" Wayne mentioned earlier was finally going to appear.

Instead, they saw Harry on the screen, dueling Draco Malfoy.

According to the plot, Malfoy used "Everte Statum" to sneak-attack Harry before Professor Lockhart could finish counting to three. It was a spell that threw the target into the air and slammed them down. After Harry scrambled back up, he immediately countered with "Rictusempra," a simpler jinx that would cause the target to laugh uncontrollably.

Both spells were basic, entry-level offensive charms with extremely limited damage and crowd-control capabilities. Naturally, Wayne had little interest in learning them.

According to the rules of the duel, both were technically only supposed to use "Expelliarmus" to knock each other down, just as Professor Snape had demonstrated.

Wayne's current objective was to use "Expelliarmus" to block Malfoy's "Everte Statum" the moment he tried to cheat, disarm him, and then use the spell again to completely defeat him.

Raymond asked, "Where is Teacher?"

Just as he finished asking, the Malfoy on the screen chanted the incantation for his sneak attack, and Harry was instantly sent flying.

The Harry who fell to the ground immediately uttered a phrase: "Holy sh—"

Those two words caused Zaldimar and Raymond to freeze instantly. Raymond said in shock, "Teacher... you... you turned into that kid?"

Harry climbed back up and replied, "Yes. This is the 'Experience Segment' of the movie. it can realistically simulate a magical duel."

With that explanation, everyone understood exactly what Tess meant by "using an ultimate move."

"Expelliarmus!"

Harry shouted, flicking his wand at Malfoy. However, the wand in Malfoy's hand only twitched slightly and wasn't disarmed.

[Mission Failed. Retry?]

Wayne chose "Yes" without hesitation.

Since the others hadn't seen the duel between Snape and Lockhart, they didn't know exactly what "Expelliarmus" did. Wayne was also surprised; he had been successful casting Levitation and Transfiguration charms and even flying a broomstick in the movie world. Why was the same casting process failing to work effectively against Malfoy?

After two more failed attempts, Wayne figured it out. In the movie's lore, Malfoy was born into one of the most prestigious "Pure-blood" families (no Muggles in the lineage). Not only were both his parents Pure-blood wizards, but so were many generations before them. He had been immersed in the magical world since birth.

In contrast, Harry's mother was from a Muggle family, making him a "Half-blood" wizard. Having been raised by his aunt's family, he had only started interacting with magic a year ago. Therefore, the Harry that Wayne was currently playing was inferior to Malfoy in terms of raw mana.

To put it bluntly, he was "under-leveled."

This required the player to concentrate twice as hard, react with maximum speed, and use the strongest willpower to drive the incantation to knock down the slightly more powerful Malfoy.

Normally, if he were watching alone, Wayne might have let it slide. but now he had intentionally turned on the monitor and instructed Tess to invite the others to watch. If he failed to clear the stage, it would be a massive embarrassment.

He had originally intended to show off that the virtually enhanced version of the movie could offer actual combat experience.

Fortunately, Wayne's greatest strength was his thick skin. The more people watched, the more focused and energized he became. After two more tries, he successfully cast "Expelliarmus" the exact moment Malfoy finished his chant, knocking the wand out of Malfoy's hand. Without pausing, he fired another shot, sending the Pure-blood heir flying backward.

"Whoa!" Zaldimar and Raymond exclaimed. This successful demonstration finally allowed them to understand what the "Expelliarmus" spell actually did.

Andromath brushed the bangs back from his forehead and analyzed, "This spell can interrupt a cast like 'Counterspell,' and it can disarm an opponent's weapon like 'Disarm.' On top of that, it even carries a direct knockback effect."

Marlin and Zaldimar nodded immediately.

While achieving these three effects wasn't entirely impossible for them, it would require a sequence: first, use "Counterspell" to interrupt, then use an instant-cast spell like "Fire Blast" to aim for the hand to disarm, and finally use a heavy-hitting spell like "Fireball" to knock the opponent back.

But that was only theoretically possible. Just aiming for an opponent's hand during the heat of battle to disarm them was nearly impossible in practice, let alone achieving all three effects with a single spell.

In reality, "Expelliarmus" was just a simple Disarming Charm. It could interrupt spells because, in the Harry Potter world, one cannot cast magic without a wand—a major difference from World of Warcraft.

As for the knockback effect, theoretically, any offensive spell could achieve that if cast with enough power; even the "Rictusempra" Harry used in the original plot could knock Malfoy down.

But these casters, who were only halfway through the first movie, had no way of knowing that.

At this point, Sandar spoke up: "Hey! Kid, if you can play as that kid with the glasses, can I play as the blonde-haired kid and duel you?"

Wayne was momentarily stumped by the question. "Put on the glasses, I'll sync my screen to yours, let's try it."

According to the movie's unlocking requirements, normally one could not unlock a sequel without watching the previous film. But for Wayne, the net cafe owner with supreme authority, it wasn't an issue.

Sandar did as told and successfully synced into Wayne's scene.

He looked down at his robes and arms. Sure enough, he had transformed from a Warlock in red robes into a twelve-year-old blonde boy.

"Come, let's try," Sandar said, and Wayne initiated the plot.

Professor Lockhart began to count: "One, two..."

Following the routine he had just watched several times, Sandar tried to chant a spell at Wayne. But unexpectedly, he didn't use "Everte Statum" as the plot dictated. Instead, he directly shouted, "Shadow Bolt!"

Wayne sucked in a breath of cold air, thinking Sandar wasn't here to "experience" the movie; he was here to commit murder.

Fortunately, real-world magic and skills could not be brought into the games or movies. The Shadow Bolt Sandar chanted had no effect whatsoever. Wayne flicked his wand and chanted. Facing a Sandar who hadn't cast a valid spell, a single "Expelliarmus" disarmed and sent him flying.

Marlin: "My goodness!"

Anita: "By the Light!"

The group cried out in surprise, and even Andromath wore a look of shock.

Zaldimar marveled even more: "This... the Warlock leader of Stormwind... was just one-shotted by Wayne?!"
