Chapter 9 - Limness Kingdom Arc Part 8

All members of the Royal Family, including all the guests from the other country, are now gathering in the throne room.

Loud sound of clapping, cheering, and the music of the nation performed by the country's best musician

The Priest announces the presence of the New King, King Juvian Lappen.

King Juvian walks into the throne room. He is standing infront of the throne, and everyone is congratulating Juvian on becoming King.

King Juvian looks at the crowd, and the first person he sees is Erefeild. Juvian got nervous; he tried to look elsewhere by changing his attention to others instead, but his mind can't seem to unsee Erefeild, his body is heating up again, and he is sweating.

Despite there being so many people, everything is too big for his eyes to process, and Erefeild is the center figure.

Then Erefeild looked back at him, Juvian's body immediately looked down by itself to avoid eye contact.

King Juvian: Oh, why did my body react without me even thinking first?

He clenches his fist and tries to look back, but Erefeild's cold eyes make Juvian too nervous to stand straight. Juvian tries to turn his gaze to something else instead.

Everyone is trying to give him a warm celebration, but Erefeild's present is making Juvian struggle to maintain himself as a king.

Then Marcus's wife and White himself walk to Juvian. Marcus's wife tries to confront him.

White touch Juvian Back,

Lord White: Be Strong, You are a King now, You are now the authority to fight back, make your father proud of who you are as a king

Juvian became emotional as he felt like he wanted to cry his heart out to ease this pressure; his eyes started to tear up, he relaxed his face, and tried to stand.

Liatart watching

Liatart: Juvian? He has the qualities of a king, but he is too young.

The celebration continued, Erefeild walked to chat with other countries' nobles, then suddenly General Tranor came to him and wanted to talk to him in private.

Erefeild excuse himself and follows General Tranor.

Lord Erefeild: Is there anything the matter?

General Tranor: It's the capital's underground tunnel, where this bizarre phenomenal happen some of our soldier reportedly suddenly stuck and can't move after they try to enter the tunnel

Erefeild, confuse

Lord Erefeild: Phenomenal, explain in detail

Tranor: When the soldiers walk in, they can see them move slower and slower, then suddenly they just stop moving, and they also find a man with his hand stuck in the air with nothing around him, and in order to get him out, they have to cut off his arm, right now The surrounding area and every entrance of the tunnel are being blocked.

Lord Erefeild: Did they try to scream or shout for someone in the tunnel?

General Tranor: They did, but no one responded, and also the tunnel is used to have the fade noise of water flowing or some people moving from a distance. At this time, it is eerily too quiet.

Lord Erefeild: Did they try to throw something into the entrance?

General Tranor: In the report, they describe that everything just stops moving, and it stays in the air

Lord Erefeild: What about wind? Did they feel like they can feel the wind?

General Tranor: Well, I don't know about that, but in the report, they did say that the soldiers have difficulty breathing when they get too close

Erefeild paused for a few minutes and responded.

Lord Erefeild: Time Magic.

General Tranor: Time Magic?

Lord Erefeild: What is the status?

General Tranor: I have assigned General Ulman to investigate. We have the situation under control and to gathered enough reports for discussion on how we can proceed.

Lord Erefeild: When will the report be done?

General Tranor: In the next 3 days

Lord Erefeild: What about who is responsible?

General Tranor: General Ulman is also responsible as well

Erefeild looked at General Tranor with his cold look and slight anger. Then he turns his gaze back to the window.

Lord: Erefeild: I want you to look into who is responsible yourself, and leave the tunnel to Ulman

General Tranor felt annoyed while acting normal, but his voice now sounds slightly rougher than before. He paused for a few minutes, then Erefeild looked back at him again.

General Tranor felt uneasy. Then he responds

General Tranor: But I already assigned General Ulman for this task

Lord Erefeild: You are the strongest in the kingdom; it requires your power to battle him. You get what that means, right?

General Tranor: I understand, My Lord

Erefeild turned his gaze back to the window.

Lord Erefeild: Earlier, you mentioned that when something get incontact with it, it will stop moving completely, right?

General Tranor: Correct, my Lord

Lord Erefeild: I see the time magic before, during my time in the prestigious university in the Western World, I read every detail about it, but not once did it mention anything about a time magic capable of making the subject completely motionless; it should only be capable of slowing down the subject, depending on how strong the user is

General Tranor: So you mean?

Lord Erefeild: This person must be from a Superpower Country; it is possible that he is so strong that they have to classify him from the rest of the world

General Tranor: Then, how should we proceed? My Lord?

Lord Erefeild: The Only one that I can think of wanting to interfere in our country's affairs is the Western World, it could be Empress Laora Land Bair, or Emperor Charles the Great

And if it really is them, Look like I would need to make an official visit to the Redecan Empire myself.

General Tranor: Are you sure that it is the right decision, My Lord?

Lord Erefeild: Not the best of solutions, but it's the best option we have, and also, we have to look at this carefully because I do not want to get too close to the Redecan Empire.

As I also do not want to become that Immortal arrogance Cladiest Sudio's pawn

General Tranor: Won't it be the best option to expand our military instead?

Lord Erefeild: What are you suggesting? Do you think that wealth and power can just grow on a tree? They are not the only country that possesses such overwhelming power; other countries also have that kind of power. What we need right now is a friend, and if we are able to build the right friend, what do you think will happen?

General Tranor: I understand your logic, My Lord

Lord Erefeild: You dismiss, do you want whatever you can to prevent it from becoming any bigger

General Tranor: Understood, My Lord

Liatart is watching. He uses his magic to listen to Erefeild and Tranor's conversation from afar.

Liatart: He may be a brilliant candidate, but having him as a king can be very complicated

Liatart turns his gaze to the capital as he feels the wind. He looks under his feet, and the part of the palace where he is standing is slowly decaying.

Liatart: I suppose, this part of the building needs some repair. Some polish and something extra, but still the same stone and building. Then it's as good as it first made, and so it's King.

After the Celebration, Juvian and White are sitting down while others are in the other room.

Juvian takes off the crown and puts it on the table. Then Juvian rubbed his neck.

Lord White: hahaha, you're acting like an old man

King Juvian: I'm Sorry uncle, it just kinda heavy

White looks at Juvian, and he smiles slightly.

Lord White: You get used to it,

After hearing White say that, Juvian Puase and he stared at the crown

Lord White: What's wrong?

King Juvian: Hearing you say that, it makes me question myself,

Lord White: You just need some time.

Juvian is tearing up. He keeps staring at the crown.

King Juvian: Uncle, promise me that you and Uncle Marus will stay with me. I feel like I might lose my way if both of you aren't around.

White stands up and pats Juvian's head,

Lord White: You can let it out,

King Juvian: But I.

Lord White: It's alright, things can get very intense, and pressure can be unbearable sometimes, and there are times that a man needs to cry, so he can stand back up stronger

Juvian let it out; he was sobbing.

King Juvian: I'm trying. (Crying)

A few days later, Marcus is now on his way to an organization he knew. Marcus arrived at their headquarters, and he walked in.

Then he sees the head of the organization and his subordinate are already waiting for his arrival.

They welcome Marcus to a private room.

Lord Marcus: I thank you for your, Sir Chester.

Chester: Do not need to worry, My Lord

Lord Marcus: So, what do you think of my request?

Chester rubbed his hands together as he felt nervous.
