The boys' and girls' hostels-
stood exactly 400 meters apart.
The distance wasn't much...
but the rules?
Stricter than walls.
After 7:00 PM on Sundays-
no boy or girl
was allowed to even step near the other hostel.

Out of the college.

Sunday Evening - 6:45 PM:
Vivan entered the room-
carrying some essentials from the market.
But the moment he looked ahead-
he froze.
R.V. was sitting there...
calmly studying-
with a girl.
Vivan panicked.
"R.V.! What is going on?!
Do you even realize it's almost 7?
If someone sees her here-
all three of us will be thrown out tomorrow!
And she'll be suspended too!"
R.V. got nervous.
"Relax, Vivan...
she's... she's my student."
Just then-
Anaya nudged him with her elbow
and gave him a sharp look.
R.V. quickly corrected himself.
"Ouch! I mean-
she's my friend. Anaya."
"And Anaya...
this is Vivan."
Anaya smiled.
"Hello, Vivan!
I already know who you are."
Vivan crossed his arms.
"If you know that-
then show some respect.
Call me 'sir.'
I'm from your senior batch."
Anaya replied casually-
"Oh please...
R.V.'s friend means my friend too.
And between friends-
this 'sir-ma'am' thing doesn't really suit, right?"
Vivan held his head.
"R.V...
this girl is two steps ahead of you!"
Then he said seriously-
"Forget all this.
Drop her back to the hostel.
It's getting dark...
and the warden must already be on rounds."
Just then-
there was a knock.
Sapna walked in.
"Good evening, R.V. sir!
Good evening, Vivan!"
She looked around-
then smiled.
"Vivan, you said we'd practice peacefully in the room...
but looks like my crime partner Anaya is already here."
And just like that-
even in that tense moment-
a new bond began to form
between the four of them.
Vivan clapped lightly.
"Alright, enough reunion.
It's almost time for the warden's round.
Both of you-leave right now.
We'll talk tomorrow in college."
Sapna spoke to Vivan for a moment-
and then-
both girls hurried out
toward the girls' hostel.
Time was running out.
On the Way to the Girls' Hostel
Sapna looked at Anaya.
"Are you crazy?
You were calling both seniors by their names
like they're your childhood friends."
Anaya laughed.
"What's there to be scared of?
R.V. and I are good friends now.
And his friends are my friends too, right?"
"That's why I call them by their names."
A few moments later-
both of them safely entered
the girls' hostel gate.
And that day-
luck was on their side.
Because just two minutes later-
the warden locked the gate.
