Chapter 64 - Breaching the Core

The Siberian blizzard outside 'The Kremlin's Vault' had escalated into an absolute whiteout. Yet, standing before the primary thermal gate of Vladislav's data sanctuary, Abir's breath formed a dense fog in the sub-zero air. His right hand gripped a custom tactical pistol fitted with a carbon-fiber suppressor, while Arisa held a military-grade data decryptor terminal.

The synchronized countdown on Arisa's HUD flashed a violent, warning crimson—fifteen minutes remaining. If Vladislav's host server wasn't structurally terminated within this window, their own estate's defense matrix would execute a hard-wipe.

"Abir, the main pressure door is isolated via a biometric laser grid," Arisa whispered, her fingers blurring across the interface. "To bypass without triggering a silent telemetry alert to Moscow Central, I need thirty seconds to override the localized security feed."

"I can give you a river of blood for those thirty seconds, my Queen," Abir replied, his voice a chilling drop in temperature. "Do your work."

Right on cue, four heavily armored Russian sentries turned the corner of the primary transit corridor, rifles raised. Abir didn't hesitate. He dropped into a low kinetic slide, breaching their visual plane before they could register a target.

*Puff! Puff! Puff!*—The suppressed pistol coughed three times in rapid succession. Three neat, expanding crimson holes appeared on the foreheads of the lead sentries. They collapsed onto the freezing concrete like dead weight. The fourth guard attempted to swing his assault rifle, but Abir closed the distance instantly, slamming his palm into the guard's elbow, snapping the joint backward. In the same fluid motion, Abir extracted the guard's own combat knife and buried it deep into his sternum. Four bodies, neutralized in under four seconds.

"Done! Abir, the grid is dark. Gate opening!" Arisa called out.

The heavy pneumatic steel doors broke seal, sliding open to reveal Vladislav's central mainframe chamber. A massive matrix of supercomputing towers illuminated the room in shifting hues of neon blue and crimson.

Arisa sprinted to the master console, slamming the bypass cable into the fiber-optic port. The decimation sequence began climbing on her monitor—10%... 30%... 50%...

Suddenly, a harsh, grating laughter echoed through the overhead acoustic speakers. The interface cut to absolute black, replaced by the scarred, mocking visage of Vladislav.

"Abir Khan..." Vladislav's heavy Russian accent boomed through the chamber. "Did you truly believe you could slip into a KGB-designed vault unnoticed? You walked into my architecture. The logic bomb on your home estate was merely the bait to drag you to my doorstep."

With a metallic screech, heavy titanium blast shutters dropped from the ceiling, sealing the entry points. The chamber was instantly converted into an airtight killbox. Simultaneously, the overhead ventilation shafts hissed open, releasing a dense, colorless cloud of military-grade Sarin gas.

Arisa's eyes widened in horror. "Abir! It's a localized purge sequence! Sarin gas... if we inhale this, our respiratory systems will fail in less than three minutes!"

There was no panic in Abir's frame. Instead, his jaw relaxed into that terrifying, predatory smirk. He reached into his tactical vest and pulled a brick of military C-4 explosive.

"Vladislav thinks a little vapor can choke out a demon, brother," Abir growled, slapping the explosive directly onto the central cooling column of the core mainframe. He dialed the manual timer down to a suicidal five seconds. "He forgot that I don't look for exits—I blast them."

Abir wrapped his massive, leather-clad arms around Arisa, shielding her entire body with his own as he slammed onto the deck.
