Chapter 6 - Rulers system Chapter 6

Kaito closes his eyes for a moment, feeling the weight of his sword in his hand as the glow of the Skill Shard fades into his palm. The heavy fatigue in his muscles begins to ease,

but the exhaustion of the battle lingers in the deep ache of his bones. He can feel his body crying out for rest, the weight of his training pressing in from all sides.

The digital world around him flickers, and with a soft hum, the training environment begins to dissolve into pixels, the immersive combat simulation fading into the background. Kaito takes one last look at the empty arena before the interface chimes again.

Simulation Ended. You have completed your current training.

Kaito exhales slowly, setting the sword down at his side.

The aches in his body are nothing compared to the rush of accomplishment, but his stomach growls with the reminder that it's time to step out of the simulation and back into the real world.

He's been here for hours—or was it longer?—the passing of time in the simulator felt like a different reality entirely. He reaches for the exit command, and the holographic room around him fades completely, leaving him standing in the small, quiet chamber of his training pod.

As the simulation door slides open, Kaito steps into the real world, the familiar sights and sounds of the room around him instantly grounding him. He stands still for a moment, blinking as his eyes adjust to the real light outside the virtual space.

He looks down at himself—his body, now coated in sweat and dirt from the intense training. His muscles ache, and his breathing is still heavy. But there's a strength inside him that wasn't there when he first stepped into the simulation.

With a deep breath, Kaito walks to the bathroom, feeling the weight of his body in every step. The door slides open as he enters, the cool air of the room a stark contrast to the heat he carries from his training.

He quickly sheds his clothes, turning the water on full blast. As the hot water pours over him, Kaito closes his eyes, letting the steam and heat soak into his sore musclesThe water is soothing, washing away the sweat and dirt, but also the mental fatigue.

It's a quiet, almost meditative moment as he stands under the shower, allowing himself to finally relax after hours of intense focus. His thoughts drift for a moment, remembering the victory over the Brute, the weight of the sword in his hands, the way his body had responded to the challenges.

He's not just surviving here; he's growing, changing, and adapting in ways he hadn't imagined.Kaito steps out of the shower, his muscles feeling slightly less sore now, the tension from the intense training washing away with the steam.

The weight of the experience still lingers, but his body is cleaner, fresher. He pulls on a simple shirt and pants, feeling more grounded. His movements are lighter, more confident, even though exhaustion still hums in the background.

He stands in front of the mirror for a moment, his eyes catching his reflection. There's a subtle difference in him now, not just in the way his muscles have tightened, but in the quiet confidence behind his gaze.

The glow of the Skill Shard still lingers in his mind, a reminder of what he's accomplished.

Kaito takes a deep breath. It's time to step out of his room,

out of the quiet space where he's pushed himself beyond his limits, and into the world outside—his family, who have no idea what he's been up to.

He's ready for their reactions, though he wonders how they'll feel seeing the changes in him.

He leaves his room, the house quiet as always, but something in the air feels different today.

The hum of everyday life is steady, but Kaito can't shake the sense that something's about to change.

When he steps into the living room, his family is gathered around, casually chatting.

His mother is on the couch, knitting something with her usual focused attention. His father is seated at the table, reading through some papers. His younger sister is sprawled out on the floor, flipping through a book.

The normal hum of family life is there, but the moment Kaito enters, it stops.

All of them turn to look at him, and he feels their eyes on him more keenly than ever before.

His mother's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, and she sets her knitting aside, looking at him like she's seeing him for the first time. His father's gaze sharpens as he looks over Kaito's appearance—still a little damp from the shower, his clothes slightly disheveled but somehow more fitting, like they're not quite the same as before.

It's his younger sister, though, who's the first to speak.

"Wait a minute…" she says, her voice full of confusion and a little suspicion. "When did you start working out?

You've been locked in your room all this time. What's going on?"

Kaito stands a little straighter, trying to shake off the lingering fatigue and project a calm, confident demeanor.

He hadn't really thought about how much time he'd been spending in his room.

He clears his throat, feeling a little self-conscious for the first time in ages. "I've been... training. On my own. Figured it was time to push myself a little harder."
