Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: The Thing You Add Without Noticing

They didn't speak for a while.

Not because they had nothing to say—

But because nothing needed to be said.

Ronan lay back fully now.

"…Alright."

A pause.

"…This is actually nice."

Lyra smiled faintly.

"…You've said that twice."

"…Yeah, well… it deserves it."

Kael observed,

"…Comfort level increased."

Edrin didn't respond.

He was watching.

Not the space—

Not the stars—

But them.

The way Ronan had relaxed without thinking.

The way Lyra's posture softened naturally.

The way even Kael—who rarely showed it—

Had stopped analyzing every second.

"…Huh," Edrin muttered.

Lyra glanced at him.

"…What is it?"

"…Nothing."

A pause.

"…Just noticing something."

Ronan smirked.

"Dangerous."

"…Shut up."

But Edrin kept watching.

Because something—

Was changing.

Not in the environment.

Not in the structure.

But in them.

And he hadn't even realized when it started.

"…We're different," he said quietly.

Silence.

Lyra tilted her head.

"…How?"

Edrin thought about it.

Then shook his head slightly.

"…Not in a big way."

A pause.

"…Just… small things."

Kael added,

"…Behavioral shift."

Ronan crossed his arms behind his head.

"Yeah, we're not constantly on edge anymore."

"…That's part of it."

Edrin nodded.

"…But it's more than that."

He looked around again.

At the space they created.

At the stars above.

At the simple place they sat.

"…We stopped reacting," he said.

Lyra's expression softened.

"…And started choosing."

Kael confirmed,

"…Intent-driven behavior."

Ronan smirked.

"So we finally grew up?"

"…Don't push it."

But Edrin didn't deny it.

Because this—

Was the real change.

Not stronger.

Not faster.

Not better in a measurable way.

Just—

More in control.

Of themselves.

"…And it happened without us noticing," he added.

Lyra smiled softly.

"…That's usually how it works."

Kael nodded,

"…Gradual adaptation."

Ronan shrugged.

"Or we just got lucky."

"…Maybe."

Edrin leaned back again.

Looking up at the faint stars.

"…But I don't think so."

Because nothing about this felt accidental.

Not the tests.

Not the pressure.

Not the choices.

And not this—

This quiet shift.

It felt earned.

Even if they hadn't realized it at the time.

"…So what now?" Ronan asked.

Edrin didn't answer right away.

Because now—

That question didn't feel urgent.

Didn't feel necessary.

Didn't feel like something that needed to be solved immediately.

"…We keep going," he said finally.

A pause.

"…Same as before."

Lyra nodded.

"…But differently."

Kael added,

"…With awareness."

Ronan grinned.

"Hopefully with more interesting stuff."

"…We'll see."

Edrin looked around one more time.

At what they had created.

At what they had become.

And then—

He stood up.

Not because something told him to.

Not because something appeared.

But because—

He wanted to move again.

"…Let's add something else later," he said.

Lyra stood as well.

"…When it feels right."

Kael followed,

"…No urgency."

Ronan stretched before standing.

"…Yeah, yeah. Don't rush it."

Edrin smiled slightly.

"…Exactly."

They stepped forward.

Not leaving the place behind—

But not staying locked in it either.

Because this—

Wasn't something they needed to hold onto.

It was something they could return to.

Anytime.

And that—

Made it theirs.
