Chapter 8 - unexpected guest

Kelvin POV

The room was full of people, but I didn't need to hear or feel them. I scanned. Every face mattered. Every movement mattered.

I leaned toward Jane. "Three o'clock. Red mask. That's one of them."

She touched her ear. "Eve… do you copy?"

> "Yes."

"She's in," Jane said.

I nodded. "Good."

Eve moved through the crowd with a tray of drinks. Masked. Unnoticed. Perfect cover.

Her steps were precise. Her awareness sharp.

Eve's pov

I kept my head down, tray steady, moving through the crowd.

Targets in sight. Men too loud, too careless.

One stood and walked toward the bathroom. I followed, keeping distance, staying invisible.

The door closed behind him. I waited.

When he stopped, I moved. Collided into him, steadying myself while my hands slipped the device behind his belt.

"Oh, sorry sir. I'm so sorry," I said.

He frowned. "Watch where you're going."

No reaction. No suspicion. Just ego.

I stepped back, walked away, and re-entered the hall. First target planted.

I scanned again. Two more. Need to plan the next move without being seen.

I moved back into the crowd, staying close to the walls, eyes scanning. The next target was near the bar, talking loudly, laughing too much. That made him careless.

I waited until he turned his back, then stepped closer, tray in hand.

As I passed, I brushed the device under the edge of his coat pocket, just enough that he wouldn't feel it.

No hesitation. No mistakes.

He kept talking, oblivious.

One down. Two more to go.

I checked the room. All targets still in view. I needed a way to plant the final one without drawing attention.

A group had formed near the balcony. That's where the last man was. He didn't move much, just stood there, holding a glass.

Perfect.

I walked toward him, tray steady. I had to look casual. Masked faces made it easy. No one would notice me.

I positioned myself near him, just close enough to brush his coat with my wrist.

Click. Device in place.

Done.

I pulled back, taking a deep breath, keeping my composure. All targets were bugged. All according to plan.

Kelvin POV

I watched Eve through the crowd, mask hiding my expression. Every move she made was precise, controlled.

She's in. Targets planted. Perfect execution.

I signaled Jane subtly. She nodded, understanding.

No one knew what had just happened. And no one ever would.

I allowed myself a small nod of satisfaction. Tonight's plan was working perfectly.

I scanned the crowd, eyes sharp.

Then I saw him.

Too familiar. Too dark. A chill ran down my spine.

I leaned toward Aron. "What is he doing here?"

Aron blinked, confused. "Who, sir?"

"Mister Cross."

Aron's face went pale. "Sir… he wasn't on the guest list."

"I know," I said, voice calm but firm. "I want him bugged."

Aron hesitated, panic flickering in his eyes. "Sir… if anything goes wrong, it could…"

"I don't care. We could just use her to take the fall

Make it happen.

Yes sir!

Eve a new target, Cat mask, Do you copy?"

"Yes, sir,".

Eve's POV

An extra target wasn't part of the plan, but I had to follow orders.

I walked up to him, staring straight at him, and at that exact moment, he turned.

I froze. My steps faltered; I almost fell, but he caught me just in time.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

Among all the Men i have met tonight non seemed this dangerous

His aura was too strong, too dangerous.too magnetic. I snapped bact to reality, I didn't have time to think. My wrists moved on instinct, and I planted the bug in the hand button of his suit.

"So sorry, sir."

"It's fine."

I walked out, calm on the surface, but that calm was just a mask. My hands went to my ear.

"Done."

"Good. Now get out of there."

I changed quickly and slipped out through the worker's door, heart still racing.

Ethan's POV

This party was boring. Well, of course it was, it was just a facade.

As I turned to glance around, my eyes locked with the most beautiful pair of Eyes I had ever seen. And she fell into my hands.

I knew i had this effect on women.

Her arms were soft too soft.

Buti reminded myself I couldn't be distracted, tonight wasn't for chasing pleasures.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yes," she said.

"Thank you… and I'm so sorry."

"It's fine," I replied, and she walked away.

"Speed, are the targets still in the hall?"

"Yes, sir," came the reply through the device I'd hidden behind my ear.

"Okay. Come meet me in the bathroom."

Speed was already there when I arrived. The moment I stepped closer, his face changed.

He pulled a device from his pocket, motioning with his hands for silence. Then he brought out his phone and texted: You have a bug on you.

My eyes widened in shock.

I texted back: A female waitress did it. She had on a fox mask, curly hair. Find her. No
