Chapter 147 - Chapter 147: Landing, Teleportation

ive hours later.

The sea remained calm, but the horizon had begun to pale with the first light of dawn.

The faint morning light tore through the night's curtain, scattering golden glimmers across the water's surface.

On the yacht's deck, Leo, Mizaistom, and Ashir stood side by side.

In the distance, the silhouette of an island loomed indistinctly.

The island wasn't large; shrouded in mist, one could only vaguely see the undulating terrain and dense vegetation.

From afar, it looked no different from the countless other deserted islands surrounding it.

Ashir gazed at the island, his expression serene.

He raised his hand and pointed in that direction.

"That's the island. The base is thirty meters underground."

His voice was soft, yet it reached everyone's ears clearly.

"If we get any closer, we'll be detected. There's surveillance in the surrounding waters, and the island is covered in cameras. Once we enter the alert perimeter, they'll know."

Mizaistom looked toward Leo.

"What do you plan to do next?"

Leo didn't answer immediately.

He stared at the island with a sharp gaze.

"Too many people."

He said.

"Going ashore like this makes it easy to fall into an ambush."

He turned his head to look at Ashir.

"Can't you set teleportation coordinates?"

Ashir nodded.

Leo continued.

"You set up a medium. I'll go ashore alone with it first. Once I've confirmed it's safe, the rest of you can teleport over."

Mizaistom's brow furrowed slightly.

"Alone? That's too dangerous."

Leo shook his head.

"The more people there are, the easier it is to be exposed. Alone, I'm a smaller target and more mobile. Even if there's danger, I can retreat in time."

He paused.

"To ensure the teleportation is safe, have him open the portal first. If everything is fine on my end, I'll call to notify you."

Mizaistom pondered for a moment before finally nodding.

Leo was right; landing directly on the island would easily lead to an ambush.

Letting Leo go up first could mitigate the risk; with his current strength, even if he encountered danger, escaping unscathed shouldn't be a problem.

As for why they didn't have Ashir open a teleportation gate directly from the Association Headquarters to the base—it was, of course, due to a lack of trust.

Ashir hadn't been completely won over yet.

If he were to play tricks during the teleportation and send everyone into a cage inside the base, they would become sitting ducks.

If they really fell for such a trap, with the Doctor's abilities, everyone except Leo might end up dead inside.

Entrusting one's life to another was the height of stupidity; it was better to be safe than sorry.

Having made up his mind, Leo looked at Ashir.

"Set the medium."

Ashir didn't say much.

He pulled a palm-sized metal plate from his robes—it was the teleportation medium he had prepared in advance.

He closed his eyes and pressed his hands against the metal plate, slowly pouring his Nen into it.

A few seconds later, a faint glow emerged on the metal plate, the light flowing across the surface until it finally formed a complex runic pattern.

"It's ready."

Ashir opened his eyes and handed the metal plate to Leo.

"Just place it on a flat surface, and once activated, it will open the light door."

Leo took the metal plate and weighed it in his hand.

It was light and thin, no different from an ordinary metal plate.

He turned to look at Mizaistom.

"Have Sophia and the others get ready."

Mizaistom nodded.

"Understood. Stay safe."

Leo said no more.

He vaulted over the railing and leapt directly into the sea.

*Splash—*

Water splashed up and was quickly swallowed by the waves.

On the deck, Mizaistom watched the ripples gradually vanish from the sea's surface and let out a soft sigh.

Hisoka had approached at some point, leaning on the railing and looking at the sea with a smile.

"Leo is always so direct~ Enhancers really are incredibly simple."

"Mmm~♦, the two of us really do get along, attracting each other because our personalities are opposites!~♦."

Listening to Hisoka's obsessive demeanor, a drop of cold sweat rolled down Mizaistom's forehead, and he ignored him.

Sophia, Shizuku, and Kastro also walked onto the deck, gazing at the island drawing closer; no one spoke.

There was only the sound of the waves gently lapping against the hull.

It took only ten minutes for Leo to successfully land on the island.

He stepped out of the seawater, drenched, yet his movements remained light and agile.

He quickly crouched down, hiding behind the rocks on the shore, his eyes scanning the surroundings; the island was very quiet.

There was only the sound of waves hitting the rocks and the rustle of the sea breeze through the trees.

Occasionally, a few seabirds flew overhead, letting out sharp cries.

Leo closed his eyes and activated his Nen to generate heat, quickly evaporating the moisture from his clothes until they were dry.

Then, his Nen radiated outward rapidly with him as the center.

One hundred meters. Two hundred meters. Three hundred meters. Four hundred meters.

The moment "En" expanded, everything in the vicinity was clearly reflected in his perception.

Rocks, trees, bushes, sand—nothing was out of the ordinary.

No ambushes, no surveillance, no human presence.

Leo opened his eyes and quickly made a circuit of the area.

He moved nimbly between the rocks and trees, using "En" to confirm every corner.

Everything was normal; he returned to his previous position, pulled the metal plate from his robes, and placed it on a flat rock.

Then, he took out his phone and dialed Mizaistom's number.

After one ring, the call was picked up.

"How is it?"

Mizaistom's voice came through.

"No problems,"

Leo said.

"Have Ashir activate the teleportation."

There was a rustling sound on the other end, followed by a soft click.

A few seconds later, the metal plate on the ground suddenly lit up!

The light grew stronger and brighter, finally condensing into an oval light door above the metal plate!

The interior of the light door was filled with distorted ripples, making it impossible to see what was on the other side.

Leo spoke into the phone.

"The teleportation is working. You can come over now."

As the words fell, a figure slowly stepped out of the light door.

Crimson hair, a face painted with a star and a teardrop, and golden pupils full of excitement—Hisoka.

He stepped out of the light door, looked around briefly, and then looked at Leo with a brilliant smile.

"Mmm~♦, what an interesting ability!"

Leo ignored him as the light door continued to flicker.

Sophia walked out, followed by Shizuku, then Kastro, and finally Mizaistom appeared.

He stepped out of the light door, surveyed the surroundings, and nodded slightly.

"Secure."

Leo put away his phone and looked at Ashir.

"Where is the entrance?"

Ashir stepped forward and pointed toward the depths of the island.

"Near the center of the island, there's a Mangrove Tree. That tree is very conspicuous; its trunk is red, and there are no other plants around it."

He paused.

"On the west side of the mangrove, there's a stone wall; the entrance is right there. The wall is a disguise; behind it is an alloy gate."

Mizaistom's brow furrowed slightly.

"Are there guards?"

"Yes,"

Ashir nodded.

"The area is covered in surveillance, with people watching twenty-four hours a day. That door is a specially made alloy gate, extremely sturdy—even a rocket launcher couldn't blast through it. A typical Enhancer's attack would be useless against that door."

He glanced at Leo.

"Furthermore, there are multiple detection methods—fingerprints, irises, voiceprints. Anyone without authorization simply cannot enter."

"In that case, there's no way to sneak in."

Mizaistom's frown deepened further.
