The Hunt Turns
Li Qinwu ran.
His boots slammed against the metal floor as the entire reactor echoed with the thunder of something massive behind him.
The Chemical Pig wasn't slowing down.
If anything, it was getting closer.
Its grotesque body slammed forward with terrifying momentum, each step shaking the ground. Thick saliva dripped from beneath its iron mask, and its distorted squeals echoed through the narrow corridors like a nightmare given flesh.
Li Qinwu's breathing grew heavier.
Even with his improved stamina, even with his trained pace—this thing refused to fall behind.
Damn it… it's too fast.
He dashed up the stairs, reaching the fifth floor again. Instinctively, he followed the same path—circling, searching, thinking.
But there was nowhere to hide.
The reactor's design was too open. Too wide. Every passage connected, every room accessible.
The monster could reach him anywhere.
His stamina was already dropping.
At this rate… he'd collapse before it did.
Li Qinwu gritted his teeth and glanced back.
The Chemical Pig was right there—charging, relentless, its massive body squeezing through corridors with horrifying ease. Its blackened teeth clicked behind the pig mask, as if it was already tasting his flesh.
"Damn it… think!"
Then—
He saw it.
A narrow gap between the central reactor column and the surrounding floor panels.
Just wide enough for a person.
Hope flashed in his eyes.
Without hesitation, Li Qinwu leapt.
He grabbed onto the cylindrical reactor, clamping it tightly with both arms and legs—
—and slid.
A rapid descent from the fifth floor to the first.
He landed hard, rolling slightly before catching himself.
Then he looked up.
The Chemical Pig had reached the gap.
It tried to follow.
Forced its massive body forward.
Pushed.
Squeezed—
—and got stuck.
Li Qinwu blinked.
Then slowly… a grin spread across his face.
"You idiot…"
The creature roared in frustration, its upper body wedged tightly in the gap, unable to move forward or backward.
It struggled violently, metal creaking under the pressure.
But it wasn't going anywhere.
Li Qinwu didn't rush.
Instead, he stepped back and waited.
His stamina slowly recovered, breath evening out.
Time passed.
Still, the creature couldn't free itself.
Only furious squeals echoed from above.
After a few minutes, Li Qinwu picked up his shotgun and began climbing back up.
Carefully.
Slowly.
Every step measured.
When he reached the fifth floor, he saw it clearly.
The Chemical Pig's head and upper torso were jammed inside the gap, its lower body exposed, thrashing uselessly.
A perfect target.
Li Qinwu didn't hesitate.
He raised the shotgun and fired.
BOOM!
The blast tore into its unarmored hind leg, ripping flesh apart instantly.
The creature screamed—a horrifying, animalistic sound.
He fired again.
BOOM!
Bone cracked. Blood splattered.
The pig thrashed harder, metal groaning under the strain.
But Li Qinwu kept going.
Reload.
Fire.
Reload.
Fire.
Each shot tore deeper into the same leg, shredding muscle and bone until the limb was barely attached.
Finally—
With a sickening snap—
the leg gave way.
The Chemical Pig howled in agony.
And then, with a violent twist of its massive body—
CRACK—!
It tore itself free.
Li Qinwu's eyes widened.
"Shit—!"
He immediately retreated, reloading as fast as he could.
Even with one leg gone, the monster didn't stop.
It crawled.
Fast.
Too fast.
Its massive arms dragged its body forward with frightening speed, closing the distance again.
Li Qinwu fired repeatedly.
Shot after shot slammed into its armored body—
—but did nothing.
The metal plates absorbed everything.
"Useless…"
He stopped shooting.
Thinking fast, he switched tactics.
If he couldn't kill it directly…
He'd outlast it.
He led the creature in circles, keeping distance, watching carefully.
But soon, he noticed something strange.
The bleeding had slowed.
Almost stopped.
"...It's clotting?"
His expression darkened.
That meant it wouldn't bleed out anytime soon.
So—
He reached into his bag.
Pulled out three detonators.
Tied them together.
Calculated quickly.
Lit the fuse—
—and threw them behind him.
Then he ran.
The Chemical Pig, driven by rage, charged straight toward him—
completely ignoring the explosives beneath it.
A second later—
BOOOOOOM!!!
The explosion shook the entire reactor.
Fire, smoke, and flesh erupted outward.
When the dust settled—
the monster was gone.
What remained was a torn, mangled corpse.
Its arms blown off.
Its chest ripped open.
Its insides scattered across the floor.
Li Qinwu coughed, waving away the smoke.
Then he looked at the remains… and exhaled.
"It's over."
Silence returned.
For a moment, the reactor felt… empty.
Then, a small smile appeared on his face.
"Time to collect."
