Chapter 36 - The Slightly Cowardly Nine-Tails, Kushina Gets Shaken

"Hmph, hmph!"

Seeing Tsunade back down, Kushina Uzumaki immediately lifted her chin proudly, thinking, "Trying to compete with me? Got your weak spot exposed, didn't you?"

"So, why did you come to see me? You must have something in mind, right?"

Kushina sat down across from Uchiha Sora and asked.

As she spoke, she glanced at the massive sealing scroll strapped to his back and thought, "Isn't that the sealing scroll Grandma Mito gave me back then? If I remember correctly, it's filled with books on sealing techniques, right?"

She couldn't help but wonder why Tsunade had handed those things over to Uchiha Sora.

"Ahem!"

Tsunade cleared her throat and said seriously, "It's like this. This kid has been researching a kind of medical talisman recently. He wants to turn medical ninjutsu into something like explosive tags—seals that can be activated at any time for self-treatment when needed."

"But the Uchiha clan doesn't have much inheritance when it comes to sealing techniques. He's lacking knowledge in that area, and his research has hit a bottleneck."

"So I thought of you, Kushina."

"You are, after all, the best in sealing techniques in all of Konoha—and even the entire shinobi world right now."

"So I'd like you to teach Sora sealing techniques. What do you think?"

Hearing this, Kushina's pride shot through the roof.

"That's right! I'm the number one in sealing techniques in the entire shinobi world right now! Hahaha!"

At the same time, within Kushina's sealed inner space, the Kurama was also paying attention to the conversation.

Hearing Tsunade's words and sensing Kushina's smug emotions, it immediately muttered with disdain, "This red-haired brat? The best in sealing techniques in the shinobi world? Just how far has the world fallen? Tch…"

Then, its attention shifted to Uchiha Sora.

"Just what is the background of this Uchiha brat? Why do I feel a warm yet unsettling power from him… something that could even suppress me?"

"He's already awakened the Sharingan? At his age?"

"Is that ocular power for real? It's absurdly strong! And why doesn't it carry the usual sinister aura of the Uchiha? Has it mutated?"

"And what's with his spiritual power? It's way too strong."

Ordinary people couldn't sense it, because the boy was using a special method to conceal and restrain it.

But that couldn't fool the Nine-Tails.

"Hm?"

At that moment, Kurama suddenly felt Uchiha Sora's gaze turn toward it—as if he could actually see it, their eyes meeting.

But in the next instant, the gaze withdrew, as if everything had been an illusion.

Yet Kurama knew it wasn't.

"He saw me. He definitely saw me! Just what kind of monster is this brat?"

Outside, Uchiha Sora withdrew his spiritual perception, the corners of his lips curling slightly.

"The Nine-Tails, huh? Interesting. If I get the chance, I should obtain some of its chakra for research."

He was deeply interested in the nature of Tailed Beast chakra.

He was fascinated by their ability to exist as pure energy.

He was intrigued by their capacity to reconstruct physical bodies from chakra.

And even more so by their ability to absorb natural energy and convert it into an endless supply of chakra.

Unlike humans, who rely on combining physical energy and spiritual energy to create chakra, Tailed Beasts, in a sense, possessed an almost limitless supply.

All these mysteries deeply captivated Uchiha Sora.

He felt that once he unraveled them, transcending the mortal realm, achieving extraordinary existence, and attaining longevity would no longer be far off.

At that point, even the limits of the chakra system would no longer be able to restrain him.

Inside the seal, Kurama suddenly felt a chill run down its spine, as if something bad was about to happen.

And if it had to guess, the source was that Uchiha brat outside.

"No! I need to hide!"

With that thought, Kurama shrank deep into the seal, not letting even the slightest bit of chakra leak out.

"Hm?"

Naturally, these changes didn't escape Kushina, the Jinchūriki.

Kurama's behavior puzzled her.

"What's going on with the Nine-Tails? Why has it suddenly become so obedient? It even feels like it's afraid of something… how strange."

Still, this was a good thing for her.

With the Nine-Tails not causing trouble, her burden was lighter, and she felt more at ease.

Kushina looked at Uchiha Sora, then turned to Tsunade and said, "Alright! Leave teaching Sora sealing techniques to me. I'll make sure he learns them properly."

She patted her chest confidently.

"Hehe, then I'll leave it to you!"

Tsunade narrowed her eyes with a smile. She was already looking forward to the moment when Kushina would be shaken by Sora's monstrous talent.

That would definitely be interesting.

That very day, Sora stayed at Kushina's home and began learning sealing techniques from her.

As for Tsunade, she headed straight back to the ninja hospital to slack off.

Two minutes later—

[You have learned the Sealing Technique: Single Thread Lamp. Through practical application and mental simulation, your mastery of the technique has reached perfection.]

Ten minutes later—

[You have learned the Fire-Sealing Method. Through practical application and mental simulation, your mastery of the technique has reached perfection.]

Half an hour later—

[You have learned the Five Elements Seal. Through practical application and mental simulation, your mastery of the technique has reached perfection.]

"How is it possible to learn this fast—and master them this well?!"

Kushina had already taught Uchiha Sora more than a dozen sealing techniques, yet he mastered each one instantly—perfectly.

In fact, he grasped each of them even better than she did.

She was starting to question her life.

"You're just here to mess with me, aren't you?"

"You've actually learned all these sealing techniques before, haven't you?!"

Kushina glared at him fiercely, puffing her cheeks as she demanded.

Otherwise, how could anyone be this outrageous—learning everything instantly and mastering it to such a degree?

Even geniuses weren't this ridiculous.

"I really haven't!"

Uchiha Sora spread his hands helplessly and explained, "I just have slightly better comprehension, that's all. If I had already learned them, why would I come all the way here to ask for your guidance? What would be the point?"

"What, do I just want to admire your beauty?"

Kushina's face immediately flushed red. She reached out and knocked him lightly on the head, saying shyly, "Don't talk nonsense. You're only three years old! Beauty or not… Even so, it's still hard to believe. Are you sure you haven't learned them before?"

"I really haven't."

Uchiha Sora shook his head firmly. "Everything I learned comes purely from my talent."

"Is that so…"

Kushina began to believe him a little. Then her eyes narrowed as she said, "Now I'm starting to suspect that Tsunade knew about this and deliberately sent you here to mess with me!"

"I was wondering why she was so eager earlier—and why her expression looked like she was holding back laughter before leaving. So she was just waiting to see me make a fool of myself? That's too much!"

Her conscience was seriously rotten.
