"Why do I see you silent? Do you no longer want your pathetic life?"
Drov's cold, deadly voice pierced Shiba's mind, pulling him out of his deep thoughts. His crimson eyes met those pale, emotionless blue eyes.
He immediately broke eye contact, lowering his head.
It had never once crossed his mind that he… a member of the noble Uchiha clan, possessors of one of the strongest Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan, feared and dreaded by every ninja, would be afraid to look someone in the eyes.
He opened his mouth and immediately began answering Drov's strange questions, which now made sense after realizing that the man before him was… an alien from the sky.
"Sir, before I answer your questions, I need to know just one thing."
Shiba's words were cautious, as if he feared angering the man before him and being killed.
Fortunately, Drov was not the type to anger easily. He merely cast a cold glance at the human.
"What is it?"
"You're not from this planet… are you?" Shiba asked directly.
Drov nodded, crossing his arms over his chest as he replied
"Indeed, I am not. I come from the Viltrumite Empire. The rulers of the universe."
"Viltrumite Empire… rulers of the universe?"
Shiba repeated those words in his mind in shock, but forced himself not to dwell on complicated thoughts.
How could he, when the blade of a guillotine was at his neck, threatening to sever his head? The guillotine was the Viltrumite before him.
"To answer your questions, sir. In our world, we possess something called chakra. It is a combination of spiritual energy and physical energy..."
"There are seven chakra natures: lightning, earth, wind, yin, yang, and fire..."
"Through ninjutsu techniques, we can transform these natures into attacks. Like what I did earlier, that was a Fire Release technique: Great Fire Dragon..."
"As for controlling bones, I believe you are referring to a member of the Kaguya clan. That clan possesses a Kekkei Genkai called Shikotsumyaku..."
"Kekkei Genkai?"
Drov's question interrupted his explanation.
If Drov wanted to conquer this planet and return to the Viltrumite Empire carrying the glory of successfully conquering his first world, then after hearing part of this human's explanation, he had become interested in this race and this human civilization.
Shiba continued, explaining the meaning of Kekkei Genkai
"Kekkei Genkai is a term used for bloodline traits. The Kaguya clan possesses the Shikotsumyaku bloodline, which allows them to control and manipulate the bones in their bodies without dying..."
"As for our clan, the Uchiha clan possesses a Kekkei Genkai called the Sharingan, which manifests in these eyes..." Shiba pointed to his eyes and continued
"It grants us the ability to copy others' techniques, see the flow of chakra, and… place others under illusion through eye contact."
He hesitated slightly at the last part, but still said it. He explained everything without hiding anything, hoping that Drov would truly spare his life if he told him everything.
"Illusion?" Drov raised an eyebrow, sending a shiver through Shiba's body as if struck by lightning.
"So that's why you made that ugly expression earlier? You tried to put me under an illusion, but you failed… didn't you?"
Shiba did not dare lie. He nodded, keeping his head lowered, looking like a small child before his father.
"Why couldn't you put me under an illusion?" Drov asked curiously.
From the confidence on Shiba's face when he attempted the genjutsu, it seemed he had been certain it would work. That was why Drov was curious as to why it had failed.
Was it because he was not from this planet and not of the human race? Or because he did not possess that energy called chakra?
Shiba had a guess as to why the Sharingan had no effect on the alien before him, especially after noticing through his Sharingan that the man's body contained no trace of chakra.
Genjutsu are illusionary techniques that target the opponent's mind and five senses, creating realistic illusions that hinder movement or mislead the target.
To achieve this, genjutsu relies on manipulating chakra within the victim's nervous system.
The alien before him, who claimed to be from a space empire, had no chakra within his body. Therefore, it could be said that he possessed immunity to genjutsu.
Shiba explained all of this honestly, without hiding anything.
Drov raised his eyebrows. He had become even more interested in this planet. His desire to conquer it and bring glory to the empire grew stronger… though that last part did not truly matter to him.
He lifted his head and stared at the sky, now black and filled with stars, along with that moon radiating a strange yellow light.
Under Shiba's crimson, fear-filled gaze, Drov's feet slowly lifted off the ground as he began to float.
The short gray cloth around his waist fluttered in the wind.
"Human man, one final question… who is the strongest person on this planet?"
Shiba immediately opened his mouth, about to say that the strongest person in the world was the head of their clan, Madara Uchiha, but then he closed it. He remembered how Madara had suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the leader of the Senju clan, Hashirama Senju.
He raised his head, looked at Drov's expressionless face, and spoke
"Hashirama Senju…"
Then he added, pointing in a certain direction without even waiting for Drov to ask
"The location of the Senju clan… is in that direction."
