Chapter 28 - CHAPTER - 28

I didn't looked away and said

"Obsession."

The word hung between us.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

For a second—

Cheng Mo didn't react.

Then slowly…

a faint smile curved his lips.

Not amused.

Not offended.

Something deeper.

"Finally," he murmured.

My breath hitched.

Before I could step back—

his hand caught my wrist again.

Not rough.

But firm enough to stop me.

"To admit it," he added softly.

His thumb brushed over my pulse—slow, deliberate—like he was feeling every beat I couldn't control.

And yet," I said, forcing my voice steady, "you're still the one who trapped me."

A pause.

Then—

he pulled me closer.

Not suddenly.

Not violently.

Just enough that the space between us disappeared.

"You walked back."

The reminder was quiet.

Certain.

My chest rose too fast.

Because that was the worst part.

He was right.

Again.

His hand slid from my wrist to my jaw, tilting my face up slightly.

Not forcing.

You keep calling it obsession," he said, voice lower now.

"Like it's something separate from you."

My breath trembled.

"It is."

"Then leave."

The words came instantly.

Sharp.

Challenging.

Silence followed.

Because we both knew—

I wouldn't.

His gaze darkened just slightly.

"There it is."

A whisper.

Close enough to feel against my skin.

His fingers tightened just a fraction.

Not enough to hurt.

Enough to hold.

"You don't belong outside that door anymore."

My heart slammed violently.

"That's not your decision."

Isn't it?"

The question was soft.

Dangerous.

Before I could answer—

he leaned in.

Close.Too close.

His breath brushed against my lips—

but he didn't kiss me.

Didn't move further.

Just stayed there.

Waiting.

Like he wanted me to close that distance. But I didn't.

Something inside me broke.

Not cracked.

Not wavered.

Shattered.

My fingers clenched tighter in his shirt—

and before I could think—

My fist smacked his face.
