Chapter 14 The Experiment Conducted with Malfoy
"What? Who doesn't know Gryffindors are a bunch of brainless idiots?"
The cubicle door was suddenly pushed open.
The speaker was a pale-faced, light-blonde-haired, sharp-tongued brat.
Behind him were two tall, chubby boys, protecting him like door gods.
"Draco Malfoy?"
"Wasn't it at the castle gate in the movie? Is it the butterfly effect?"
Basil wondered.
However, what surprised him even more was that Malfoy looked directly at him.
Not Harry?
Was he here to teach him a lesson?
Because Piffennig failed to kill him?
Did Draco Malfoy know too?
It was possible.
After all, Lucius Malfoy dared to eat a melon in front of the headmaster's office (in the movie; Basil didn't know it didn't happen in the novels).
Draco Malfoy would later become the youngest Death Eater.
Malfoy first mocked Neville.
"Oh, crybaby Longbottom, you want to go to Gryffindor too?"
He paused, then said more formally, "You're that Granger, aren't you?"
"A relative of Finn Granger, the current Grand Master of the Extraordinary Apothecaries."
"The one who killed the infamous werewolf Greyback."
"And you were quite the character at the station today."
"Your chart of powerful connections, according to research, is pretty reliable."
"But unfortunately." Malfoy paused again, giving Ron a disdainful look.
"You seem to have made the wrong friends. But I'm more inclined to believe that some people have stuck to you like glue."
"I can help you with that."
Malfoy extended his right hand. "My name is Draco Malfoy."
He casually pointed out the names of the chubby guys with his eyes. "As for them, Crabbe and Goyle."
Faced with Draco Malfoy's provocative self-introduction,
the people in the cubicle reacted differently.
Hermione, who hadn't knocked either, looked disgusted. "No manners! Don't you know how to knock?"
Harry and Ron jumped up.
Draco Malfoy seemed oblivious to the two of them.
He squinted, scrutinizing Hermione shrewdly. "Oh? What's your name?"
Hermione raised her chin haughtily, replying, "Hermione Granger!"
Malfoy instantly concealed the disdain in his eyes, turning to Basil. "Granger? You're related."
Ron, feeling ignored, seized the opportunity to mock, "Hasn't your family always been so arrogant?"
"Oh, I see."
"My father said that several of your potions shops have been shut down recently."
"Even your Hogwarts board seat was lost."
"What, are you here to lick Basil's boots?"
Draco Malfoy's cheeks flushed slightly. "My father also told me that the Weasleys are all red-haired, freckled, and have too many children to support."
"And you," he said, as if he'd just noticed Harry, "I remember you come from a wizarding family, right? Being around shady characters like the Weasleys will influence you."
Harry didn't even look at Draco. "Get out! You're not welcome here!"
His attention was completely drawn to Goyle and Crabbe.
These two chubby boys seemed to remind him of Dudley.
Especially since they were currently drooling over the pile of snacks.
Crabbe, in particular, reached straight for the Chocolate Frog.
Harry: "Put your hand down!"
Ignored Draco said in a commanding tone, "Ignore him! You deserve it!"
Crabbe grinned sheepishly and stuffed the Chocolate Frog into his mouth.
But the next second, Crabbe frowned: "A little bitter? It looks like it's smeared with some kind of sauce."
Having watched the spectacle, especially the dramatic scene of Crabbe eating the Scabbers sauce, Basil also stood up.
[Faints]
He casually gave the middle finger, and a red light emerged from it, splitting into three.
Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle were blasted away by the power of the Stunning Charm.
Bang! Bang! Bang! With three crisp sounds,
the three of them crashed into the door of the opposite cubicle and
collapsed to the ground.
Draco's eyes were filled with tears, and he cried out,
"I...I'm going to tell my dad!"
After saying this, he, Crabbe, and Goyle got up and slunk away.
Basil stroked his chin, thinking, "Just a little boy who only knows how to call me 'Dad'? Ridiculous!"
Unlike Ron, who was gloating, Harry, who was trying to suppress his laughter, and Neville, who was secretly smiling,
Hermione frowned.
She ignored Basil's crude gestures and the unfamiliar spell that interested her most.
Her attention was entirely focused on the fact that Basil might be in trouble.
"Basil, you should be careful. Fighting before even entering school is not a good thing!"
"But...I won't tell the professor this time. We haven't started school yet, have we?"
Ron looked incredulous. "Who are you! Malfoy insulted our house, and you want to tell the teacher?"
Harry and Neville were also a little suspicious, wondering if the girl in front of them had lost her mind.
Basil saw the worry hidden in Hermione's words. "She's just worried about me, afraid Draco Malfoy will tell the teacher."
"But he doesn't have the guts, especially since he's the one being disciplined."
Then, he looked at Hermione seriously. "Don't say things like 'tell the teacher' anymore. We're all classmates; nobody likes being disciplined, even if you mean well."
Hermione didn't pay attention.
She only noticed one thing.
Basil saw her concern!
This made her heart and expression leap!
Hermione's joyful expression clearly misled Ron.
So, he was about to say something more.
Basil interrupted, deciding to change the subject.
"Let's introduce ourselves again!"
"You all know my name."
Hermione nodded vigorously. "Hmm, I just found out, Basil also has the surname Granger!"
"But no one in my family knows magic. In fact, I'm not related to Basil."
Neville and Ron also said their names.
Finally, Harry said, "My name is Harry Potter."
Hermione and Neville gasped.
Hermione: "Is it really you? I know everything about you."
"You're mentioned in several books, including *A History of Modern Magic*, *The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts*, and *Important Magical Events of the Twentieth Century*."
"But not only those books, I've memorized all the textbooks!"
"The only pity is that I got Basil's reading list too late."
"I wonder if the Hogwarts library has the corresponding books."
She began to ramble on.
Harry and Neville stared blankly, their minds empty.
Scabbers, after wiping his bottom with a pot-shaped cake, covered his ears and crawled into Ron's pocket.
Only Ron…
While Hermione spoke, she persistently interjected with her opinions on the Slytherin and Malfoy families.
Basil, however, breathed a sigh of relief.
He finally had time to consider the numerical changes caused by the Stunning Curse on Malfoy.
In fact, the system had already recognized Draco Malfoy as Basil's friend the moment he extended his right hand.
After Malfoy's ignominious escape, he even gained a blue-quality, unactivated, and growable [Echo].
Opening the friends list and clicking on his avatar, his stats appeared:
[Name: Draco Malfoy]
[Race: Wizard]
[Health Points: 8]
[Magic: 5]
[Luck: 2-5]
[Family Traits: Blonde Hair and Fair Skin (Awakened), Self-Control (Awakened), Proficiency in Dark Arts]
His stats weren't particularly special.
Having physical characteristics among family traits wasn't unusual.
Some families in the wizarding world were like that.
The Weasleys always had red hair and freckles; the Potters had messy hair of constant length.
As for Self-Control, Basil had some guesses.
Both the twin sisters said that Draco Malfoy was particularly adept at suppressing his compassion to bully others.
This also explains his exceptionally fast and high level of skill when learning Occlumency from his aunt Bella.
Malfoy's magical power and life points were only at a relatively high level among normal young wizards.
Basil collected a lot of data at the train station.
Wizards' magical power was generally between 3 and 7.
Most lower-year wizards hovered around 3 to 5, while upper-year wizards were between 4 and 7.
Life points were generally between 7 and 10.
This confirmed Basil's conjecture:
life points are limited by physiological structure.
A level 1 Devil's Web has a life point of 130
because it can survive as long as one vine remains.
And wizards, without using magical transformation, can be killed with a pitchfork without using spells for defense.
But if this is the case, a wizard would be severely injured even by a Stunning Curse.
This is because Basil's level 1 Stunning Curse card data is as follows.
[Stun Spell]
[Level: 1]
[Mana Cost: 3]
[Fires a beam of red light, stunning the target]
[Damage: 3]
[Effective Range: 10m, damage decreases by 1 point per meter beyond 10m]
Keep in mind, the young wizard's health is a mere 7.
This is more than a third of his life.
Not to mention, Basil can 'consume' several times the magic power to achieve several times the damage.
Therefore, this experiment was conducted.
For the safety of Malfoy and the others, he didn't use a wand or its appearance.
He simply used the [Spellbook] to cast the spell.
Of course, this was also more flexible.
Silent and without a spell, he could expend mental energy to split the spell's power.
If activated with magic power, it could even produce effects beyond the spell itself, depending on will. The
Stun Spell, split into three parts with a damage of 1, was applied to the three.
With Basil's intention to expel them from the cubicle, they were knocked away.
The Stun Spell was used in the form of a banishing spell.
When Draco was hit by the spell, his health points didn't change; instead, a seemingly illusory -1 appeared after his mana.
However, his mana didn't decrease.
From the outside, the three appeared to have only been punched, experiencing the pain of being hit by the spell and knocked to the ground.
"My stun spell didn't damage him more than his mana, so it couldn't stun him?"
"So, mana isn't just spell power, but also spell resistance? Hmm? Are wizards all walking mossy girls?!"
"Ahem." "
Multiple spells hitting a human simultaneously can be life-threatening; how is that calculated?"
"Each one minus the spell resistance and then adding them together, or...?"
"What would Hagrid's stats be like, given that he can withstand multiple spells and escape unscathed?"
