Chapter 5: The More You Look, The Less You See

Jessie looked at light, calm and steady.

"Holp will love to see you, light."

Then jessis said with a smile You will need favours from Holp."

Light nodded slightly

Light smiled faintly.

"Yes, I know. But laha is good too."

Both of them shared a quiet smile.

"Send my greetings to Diamond," Jessie said.

One Week Later

It had been one week.

xoft's transformer was complete.

Aloha was happy relieved.

Holp looked at the machine, then at xoft.

"There's a race the Transformer Games. Jessie, what do you think?"

Jessie examined it carefully.

"It's perfect."

Holp turned to xoft.

"Should I register you for the race? Do you want it now… or later?"

Xoft smiled.

"Later. Aloha needs to teach me how to fight in the ring first."

Jessie stepped back.

"I have to leave. I have a lot on my plate."

Diamond and Laho

"Hi Diamond, what's up?" said laho.

Diamond nodded.

"Thanks, laho. Your analysis was right."

"No problem," laho replied. "When are we going to the High Night Black Market? I heard it's dangerous."

He gave a slight smile.

"And you know… I like dangerous things. I also heard you had a problem with a lady."

Diamond exhaled slowly.

"Be careful what you wish for, laho."

He paused, then continued:

"That moon, we go to High Square. They sell black market stuff there. We can make real money."

He looked at him.

"You have to make the plans now."

Laho nodded.

"Okay, Master D."

A Crack Between Brothers

A few hours later, light spoke to Diamond.

"We can use laho. He's a strong asset right now. mogo do not know him. He's good with blades… and a solid gun handler."

Diamond shook his head.

"He's not an asset. He's like a brother to us."

Light's face tightened.

"Okay… since you choose to be weak."

Light walked away.

The Setup

A few minutes later, laho found light.

"It looks like you've been avoiding me."

Light shrugged.

"I've been busy, brother. But since you're here, it's all good."

He paused.

"I'll be going to Pandora Square."

Laho's eyes lit slightly.

"Wow… I've heard about that place before. Let's go together."

Light nodded.

"Yeah… we go together."

Then his tone shifted.

"But Diamond is your only problem now."

Laho went to Diamond and told him everything.

Immediately, Diamond said no.

"No."

But before the night came

light moved silently.

A drink.

A hidden dose.

Diamond fell asleep.

Light turned to laho.

"Diamond agreed."

Pandora Square

They arrived.

Laho looked around, observing everything.

"Wow… you didn't tell me we were coming to a party."

Light smiled softly.

"On top, it looks like a party."

He leaned closer.

"But deep inside… it's hell."

"Be very vigilant, laho."

Then he added:

"Wait here. I want to get a drink. Don't go anywhere. Is that clear?"

"Of course, it's clear," laho replied.

Tension at Home

"Xoft, stop it now," Holp said firmly.

Aloha stepped forward.

"You're doing too much more work, more transformers. Why would you do that without asking first?"

Xoft smiled lightly.

"Women… with their drama."

Aloha frowned.

"So that's why she saw me coming and walked out on me?"

Holp stepped closer.

"Answer the question."

Xoft's tone shifted.

"It's business. The money I'm using is not family funds… not ours."

Holp's voice dropped.

"The money you are using… is Jessie's."

Silence.

Then she continued, slow and serious:

"Listen carefully. Jessie does not know friendship when it comes to money. She is dangerous. She has power… connections… even an army."

Her eyes locked on him.

"You don't know her the way I do."

The Chase

Aloha walked alone.

A group of men stopped her.

"You're new here," one said. "You look like a Tech City girl… a spoiled one. Want to have some fun?"

Aloha didn't stop.

"I don't have time for this. I'm busy."

She walked past them.

Behind her

Orders were given.

"Follow her."

Collision

Aloha turned into a corner, quickly loading her gun.

Footsteps echoed behind her.

Fast. Closing in.

At that same moment

Laho saw men chasing a woman.

He moved instantly.

He reached her just as she finished loading

But in that motion, his arm struck hers.

The gun slipped from her hand.

Fell.

The Moment After Impact

The weapon hit the ground.

Metal against stone.

Sharp. Final.

Neither of them moved.

Aloha's eyes locked onto his.

"You look familiar…"

Laho didn't respond immediately.

Because it wasn't her face he saw

It was the medallion.

Hanging from her neck.

Alive.

Recognition

His voice dropped.

"Where did you get that?"

Aloha stepped back.

"It's mine."

Laho's gaze hardened.

"No it's not just yours."

Footsteps returned.

Fast.

Closing in.

The Hunters Arrive

Four men.

Weapons drawn.

"There she is."

Laho stepped forward.

"She's not your target."

The man laughed.

"Oh she is more than a target."

His eyes shifted to the medallion.

"She's the key."

Blade and Thunder

The first man attacked.

Laho moved faster.

Steel flashed.

One strike clean.

Second man lunged

Disarmed. Dropped.

Gunfire.

Aloha reacted instantly grabbing her weapon, firing with precision.

Two more down.

Silence returned.

Heavy.

Breathing filled the air.

The Truth Begins

"This is no longer coincidence," laho said.

"Then explain it," Aloha replied.

"That medallion…" he said, pointing,

"…is not decoration."

"It's a marker."

The Hidden System

"A marker for what?" Aloha asked.

"For those who carry power they don't understand," laho replied.

He looked toward the city lights.

"There are systems you haven't seen… cities built on weapons, intelligence, and control."

A brief pause.

"Gom Man City is one of them."

The Deeper Warning

"Why are they chasing me?" Aloha asked.

"Because the medallion does three things," laho said.

"It reveals you.

It tracks you.

And… it unlocks something."

Aloha's voice lowered.

"What does it unlock?"

Laho looked directly at her.

"You."

The Shift

Sirens echoed in the distance.

Time moved again.

Danger rising.

Aloha looked at him.

"So… what happens now?"

Laho turned slightly, scanning the shadows.

We stop reacting

He looked back at her.

and we start moving first."

Final Line

Aloha held the medallion tightly.

Fear was still there

But something else had awakened.

A question remained, sharp and unavoidable:

Would Aloha trust laho… or not?
