Chapter 46 - Chapter 47 Liu Erlong's Furious Roar

Chapter 47 Liu Erlong's Furious Roar

  "So what if it is?"

At this moment, Flander, standing beside Yu Xiaogang, stepped forward, his face unfriendly. Behind him, two yellow and two purple soul rings shone brightly, revealing his Soul Master power without any concealment.

Half a year ago, after learning that Liu Erlong was Yu Xiaogang's cousin, Flander had no more scruples and launched a fierce pursuit.

However, he had little success, only receiving cold rejections in return, leaving him without any hope.

According to Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong was incredibly passionate before, but her personality changed drastically after meeting Chen Yao.

This made Flander, who was still infatuated with Liu Erlong and couldn't forget her, resent Chen Yao as well.

This is why he, contrary to his usual cautious nature, confronted Chen Yao on the streets of Wuhun City.

However, just as the atmosphere between the two sides was tense, a series of footsteps that made the ground tremble slightly swept in from all directions.

Moments later, a large contingent of the Spirit Hall's enforcement team arrived, weapons in hand, instantly surrounding Yu Xiaogang and his companions.

"Who dares to hold Deacon Chen hostage!"

A commander's shout rang out from the enforcement team, followed by bursts of soul power that enveloped Yu Xiaogang and Flander!

Feeling the immense pressure from the countless streams of soul power, Yu Xiaogang and Flander's expressions changed slightly, realizing the danger.

They hadn't expected the Spirit Hall's people to arrive so quickly.

Chen Yao, on the other hand, wore an even wider smile.

He valued his life immensely, and now that he held power, even while enjoying his leisurely life in Spirit City, he required a patrolling enforcement officer to keep a constant eye on him.

If he showed any unusual behavior in the city, he would immediately summon the other law enforcement officers.

This is why the enforcement team arrived so quickly after only a few words of conflict.

"Enough! Let go of Deacon Chen! What good are you except dumping all the trouble on me!"

Just as the atmosphere became slightly awkward, leaving Yu Xiaogang unsure whether to let go or continue, Liu Erlong's angry roar broke the silence.

Yu Xiaogang was stunned for a moment, then released his grip on Chen Yao's collar, stiffly turned around, and explained,

"Erlong, I did this for you..."

"Don't keep saying it's for me! You got angry because of me, and then you went to Deacon Chen to vent your anger. And then what? You vented your anger, but in the end, it's me who suffers!" Liu

Erlong's eyes were bloodshot as she stared intently at Yu Xiaogang, roaring hoarsely.

  "No...no! Erlong! Listen to me..."

Yu Xiaogang panicked upon hearing this, stammering an explanation.

"What did you say? Because of your good relationship with the Holy Maiden, Deacon Chen couldn't do anything to you, but I have no power or influence, and in the end, I can only pay the price for your momentary anger! Why!"

For the first time in half a year, Liu Erlong revealed a different emotion beyond her indifference in front of Yu Xiaogang and Flander, but it was so violent that it left the two at a loss.

Yu Xiaogang was also speechless, unsure of what to say.

"If you really care about me, either resolve this matter cleanly and thoroughly, or calm down and don't create more trouble for me because of your emotions!"

After coldly uttering those words, Liu Erlong abandoned the chaotic scene and left,

leaving Yu Xiaogang and Flander dumbfounded.

Straightening his slightly wrinkled collar, Chen Yao looked at the dramatic ending with a mocking smile.

"Master Yu, you should really be glad the Holy Maiden is sentimental; otherwise, today's matter wouldn't have ended so easily. It's just a pity for Liu Erlong; I wonder how much more suffering she'll have to endure because of your willfulness?"

With that, Chen Yao turned to leave.

Yu Xiaogang, hearing Chen Yao's words, bulged with anger and shouted,

"Besides relying on Dong'er's power, what else do you have? If you have the guts, come at me! Don't make things difficult for a mere woman like Erlong!"

However, Chen Yao didn't turn back, speaking calmly.

"Come talk to me like this when you've completely severed ties with the Holy Maiden. I know my current position is entirely due to her. I respect and admire her.

Unlike some people who are unaware of their own influence despite being under her protection. You've published quite a few articles over the years, haven't you? Why do they look so similar to those recorded in the Spirit Hall's archives?

Do you know why no one has come looking for you?

If it weren't for the Holy Maiden, you would have been captured and torn to pieces by the Spirit Hall's powerful figures for leaking secrets. Even if your father is Yu Yuanzhen, he couldn't save you..."

Yu Xiaogang's face turned ugly upon hearing this, and he stammered.

"Isn't it because the Spirit Hall is only concerned with its own interests? Over the years, how many Soul Masters have gone astray because they haven't received proper guidance? I'm doing this for the sake of all Soul Masters!"

Chen Yao sneered upon hearing this.

"Heh, you speak so righteously, then why don't you publish the achievements of your Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan regarding dragon-type beast spirits? So you don't care if it's not your own hard work?" With

that final remark, Chen Yao ignored Yu Xiaogang, whose face darkened under the increasingly strange gazes of those around him, and turned away.

Actually, Chen Yao didn't care much about Yu Xiaogang's actions; after all, he was just as bad a person, and should mind his own business.

However, since Yu Xiaogang had brought it up today, he didn't mind arguing with him. Standing on the moral high ground, he was a professional! ...

  Late

at night, Liu Erlong, as usual, lay on her tattered straw mat, enduring hunger and tossing and turning.

Suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps came from afar outside the drafty house.

Hearing those familiar footsteps, Liu Erlong jolted awake, a surge of joy rising in her heart, her eyes gleaming. She abruptly stood up, sat upright, and waited.

  "Bang!"

A short while later, a familiar sound of a door being kicked open rang out, and Chen Yao's slightly thin figure, shrouded in the dim light, slowly entered.

Once he was inside, Liu Erlong, in the sparse moonlight, could see Chen Yao's face clearly.

Unlike his usual arrogant and playful smile, his expression was indifferent and cold.

Looking at Chen Yao's unfamiliar expression

, Liu Erlong trembled. She dared not imagine whether Chen Yao would blame her for the conflict with Yu Xiaogang that day, and make her endure even more severe humiliation!
