Chapter 21 A Tavern in a Small Town, An Encounter Outside the Forest
The Spirit City wasn't exactly close to the Star Dou Great Forest, a distance of five thousand miles. Fortunately, Bibi Dong's carriage was a spirit beast specially raised by the Spirit Hall—a red-maned, reddish-brown horse capable of traveling a thousand miles a day.
It was also in automatic mode; simply pointing out the direction was enough, and it would travel on its own even without human guidance, making it extremely convenient. After
five days of travel, the carriage finally stopped in a small town near the Star Dou Great Forest.
The carriage door opened, and Chen Yao leaped down, his feet landing steadily on the slightly damp soil. He stretched contentedly.
Although the five days of travel had been tiring, Chen Yao felt no fatigue whatsoever; on the contrary, he felt refreshed.
Following Chen Yao, Bibi Dong also emerged from the carriage.
Her long, purple hair was piled high, her eyes were alluring, and her cheeks were slightly flushed. Despite her delicate, pretty face, she possessed a mature charm and captivating allure.
Bibi Dong stepped down from the carriage.
However, her movements were somewhat stiff, her steps a little unsteady, and her strikingly long, white legs trembled slightly. She
paused to steady herself on solid ground.
She wiped the sweat from her brow and the remaining moisture from her lips.
Sniffing the faint metallic scent emanating from herself, her face darkened slightly, her eyes filled with disgust as she glared fiercely at Chen Yao,
seemingly silently condemning his despicable actions in the carriage.
Then, Bibi Dong turned and walked silently towards a seemingly ordinary tavern.
Seeing this, Chen Yao shrugged helplessly and followed.
According to his original plan, he didn't intend to stop and waste time settling in; he wanted to quickly head into the Star Dou Great Forest to hunt for spirit rings.
However, Bibi Dong insisted that the fishy smell emanating from her was too unpleasant.
She disagreed with Chen Yao's explanation that the odor would dissipate in the forest breeze.
She insisted on finding an inn for the night, taking a hot bath, and getting a good night's sleep—a
clean one, no less!
Chen Yao couldn't persuade her otherwise and could only agree; after all, Bibi Dong was the main force in this spirit ring hunt, and he was just there to cheer her on.
Chen Yao, leading the horse by the reins, followed Bibi Dong to the tavern. He tossed the reins to the waiter at the door and flung out two silver soul coins, his face arrogant.
"Take good care of the horse, or I'll break your legs!"
The waiter's eyes lit up at the sight of the coins, but upon seeing the gleaming Spirit Hall emblem on the carriage, he became serious and quickly forced a fawning smile.
"So you are two distinguished guests from the Spirit Hall! My apologies for not greeting you properly!
I presume you are heading into the Star Dou Great Forest to hunt for spirit rings?
Please rest assured, we will take good care of this horse and return it to you unharmed when you emerge!"
Chen Yao nodded in satisfaction at the waiter's attitude and tossed out another silver soul coin.
"Good eye! You deserve a reward!"
The waiter was overjoyed.
"Thank you, sir!"
Bibi Dong looked at Chen Yao's current demeanor with utter contempt. This crude and vulgar behavior was a disgrace to the Spirit Hall, and even to her, Bibi Dong!
However, Bibi Dong was in no mood to care about Chen Yao at the moment. She was sticky and smelly, making her want to vomit, and she couldn't wait to take a bath.
The two walked into the tavern one after the other, feeling the pungent smell of alcohol hitting them.
Bibi Dong frowned and was about to quicken her pace when she suddenly realized that the once bustling tavern had fallen into a deathly silence, as if time had stood still.
All eyes were fixed on the two people at the door, or more precisely, on the stunningly beautiful and alluring Bibi Dong.
Those gazes were burning hot, greedy and wicked!
"Gulp!"
Finally, with a dry gulp, someone could no longer hold back. It was a burly man with a body as bloated as a small mountain.
The burly man swayed his body and walked towards Bibi Dong with a lewd expression.
Just as the burly man was about to reach Bibi Dong, he suddenly felt a jolt on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw it was none other than the pretty boy who had been walking with the beauty.
"What, kid, you want this woman to stick things out? You think you can handle it? Hahaha!"
The burly man laughed wildly, and the surrounding group of drunkards also roared with laughter.
Chen Yao, however, remained unmoved by the mockery. Instead, he looked at the burly man with a pitying expression and sighed,
"No, I just wanted to tell you, my good man, don't be so impulsive again. Have a safe journey..."
With that, Chen Yao shook his head, patted the burly man's shoulder a few times as if to comfort him, and then turned and walked upstairs without looking back.
The burly man stared at Chen Yao's retreating figure, somewhat bewildered. But the next moment, his mind was filled with Bibi Dong's angelic face and devilish body. He turned his head and lewdly grinned.
"Hehe, beauty, your useless man has abandoned you. From now on, you'll follow me, hehehe!"
But Bibi Dong's face did not show the panic the burly man had expected. Instead, she smiled, breathtakingly beautiful, making everyone forget to breathe for a moment.
"He is indeed quite useless, still just a level 20 piece of trash, but that's not something you can talk about..."
Bibi Dong's smile was beautiful, but her voice was devoid of any warmth; everyone felt a chill rise from their spines.
The next moment, a surge of immense soul power erupted, almost blowing the entire tavern away!
"Soul... Soul Emperor?!"
The burly man, who had been consumed by lust, suddenly sobered up upon seeing the six optimally configured soul rings floating and shimmering behind Bibi Dong. He stammered, his voice filled with unprecedented fear.
At the same time, everyone in the tavern who had been jeering earlier was also stunned by Bibi Dong's soul rings.
But soon, some people reacted, jumped up, pushed aside the people around them, and rushed towards the tavern entrance without regard for their own safety.
"Hmph!"
No sooner had anyone moved than Bibi Dong let out a cold sneer, a chilling glint in her eyes, and a purple aura suddenly enveloped her...
...
A moment later, the tavern fell completely silent, eerily quiet, except for a few travelers who had remained silent and watching the scene unfold.
All those who had been in the tavern were gone; only the thick river of blood on the ground proved they had been there.
Their bodies were gone without a trace!
"The stench of blood... even worse than that beast Chen Yao's stench! I really need to take a good bath later..."
Bibi Dong frowned, smelling the thick, pervasive stench of blood, then lifted her foot, her high heels splattering blood as she gracefully ascended the stairs.
Only the terrified survivors remained in the hall.
They looked up at the stairs in alarm, and after confirming that Bibi Dong had gone upstairs, they exchanged a glance, then rushed towards the tavern door at their fastest speed ever!
The next day.
The sun slowly rose from the east, gradually enlarging the pale light of dawn, and the sky gradually brightened.
By this time, Chen Yao and Bibi Dong had already woken up and left the town.
Because they had slept soundly the night before, they were full of energy.
After leaving the town, they hurried on their way.
Of course, for Bibi Dong, it was a leisurely stroll; she spent most of the time waiting for Chen Yao, who was holding them back.
As time passed, a gentle breeze carrying the fragrance of plants wafted over them, and they finally arrived at the entrance to the Star Dou Great Forest.
The trees here were tall, at least 20 meters high, blocking out the sun, and this was only the outermost part.
The dense forest had no paths, and the shadows were so thick that the true scenery inside was completely obscured.
Upon arriving at this place, Chen Yao and Bibi Dong were unwilling to delay. Just as they were about to enter the forest, they suddenly saw another pair of people not far ahead, heading into the woods.
One of them was someone Chen Yao and Bibi Dong recognized very well; in fact, Bibi Dong felt a momentary daze upon seeing him.
That person was none other than Bibi Dong's first love, Chen Yao's talisman—
our master of martial spirit theory, Yu Xiaogang!
And beside Yu Xiaogang was a stunningly beautiful woman with fiery red hair and an incredibly hot figure!
