Logan is good at diplomacy
To make a deal with Amazon Lily, the United States of America had not sent any diplomats. Well technically there was one diplomat in the team, but she was not professional.
The meeting point chosen by both the countries was Costa Rica. A country in the middle of North America and South America continent, which kept its neutral stance towards both America and Amazon Lily ever since its independence.
The members of the negotiation team were mostly from SSR, Strategic Scientific Reserve, of The United States of America.
The first one was Peggy Carter, the former administrative director as well as consultant in the strategic deployment division.
The second person in the team was Howard Stark, a fairly rich American industrialist and scientist specializing in firearms.
Chester Phillips was one of the high ranking army generals as well as one of the key developers in the modern machine guns of the United States.
The final member of the team was Adam Rogers, a young pilot of the air force who has been recently recruited by SSR to develop the next generation fighter jets in the collaboration of Stark industries.
On the other side of them, stood four individuals from Amazon Lily.
The first one was James Howlett Wolverine, the Chief of National Security of Amazon Lily.
The second person was Boa Shakuyaku, the third biological child of Logan and Hancock, the commander in chief of the Strategic Meta Human Force.
The third person was Victor Felis, the current Chief of Foreign Affairs.
And finally there was Jennifer Canis, the member of the council of national security.
"Let us begin this negotiation by declaring our interests and our terms. I would like the diplomats from Amazon Lilly to speak about their interests first." Peggy Carter, the main spokesperson of the team, gave the chance to the team from Amazon Lily from the very beginning.
"The demand of our nation, Amazon Lily, is simple. We would like our citizen, Gobber Panthera, back safe and sound. In exchange, we are willing to give any compensation as long as the demand is not too unreasonable." It was Logan, who said that.
Willing to bow your head from the very beginning was not a good way to go in a diplomatic talk. But Logan was not a normal diplomat.
Logan had lived most of his life following a simple rule. If there is a problem then using his claws was the easiest solution. But he also understood very well that using his claws every time was not the best solution. After living in Amazon Lily for so long… among people who are just like him, a lot of changes have happened in Logan. For him, it was home. A place where no one judged for who he was. So Logan genuinely loved that place and was willing to compromise on a lot of things in order to protect that.
So when Hancock decided to send Logan with the diplomats of Amazon Lily for negotiation as the Chief of National Security, Logan took his role extremely seriously.
Being always on Hancock's side Logan had his own spear of influence. Although he was completely unaware of it…
Most people think of him as the right hand man of Hancock. Logan's current official post was Chief of National Security. But before getting this position, he was one of the members of the National Defence Council and the personal guard of Hancock.
Within Hancock's inner circle, her reputation for using men for her pleasure and discarding them when she is bored was well known. But Logan was the only man who had been with her for a long time and was even the biological father of the Royal Princess and Hancock's other children.
So despite his lack of experience they trusted Logan and had made him their spokesperson.
"Then we will make our demand clear too. We are willing to hand over the individual, "Gobber Panthera". In exchange the United States of America hoped that Amazon Lily would share the "Human resource enhancement" secrets with the states." Peggy told the demands. She had given that term to the enhanced strength and Superhuman powers of Gobber and had hoped that the other party wouldn't play dumb.
"I assume by "human resource enhancement", you mean the superhuman strength and physical abilities of Gobber Panthera, correct?" Logan asked directly. It was Hancock's order to reveal the existence of Meta-humans to America in a controlled environment. And considering that currently the United States is obsessed with making super soldiers, enhanced men, who can go against hundred normal soldiers and win, it was the right opportunity to do so.
"Exactly, Mr Wolverine." Peggy Carter spoke while sighing in relief that the other party didn't steer away the topic.
"Then, I would like to remind you of what I said earlier. Our country is willing to accept any demand as long as it is reasonable. And the demand of sharing the technology behind meta humans is not reasonable." Logan spoke his part.
"According to the statement given by the United States of America, Gobber Panthera was accused of spying and military sabotage. And we have already denied that statement. Gobber Panthera is a researcher and a scientist, as well as a law abiding citizen of Amazon Lily. You are trying to accuse an innocent man without any proof and are making a ridiculous demand of sharing with you a technology that our country has spent millions of berries and centuries of effort on for someone you have unlawfully taken as a hostage…" This time, it was Jennifer Canis, who spoke up.
"Meta humans… So you admit that you have already developed human enhancement serum?" This time it was Adam Rogers, who asked the question.
"No, Amazon Lily has developed Controlled Genetic Mutation technology. This technology was originally meant to create high quality crops. Something that Amazon Lily had already shared with the United States of America. Now asking for the core technology in exchange for a single citizen is nothing more than robbery. Considering our long standing relationship with the United States of America, this is nothing less than bullying. Please make your demand reasonable unless you have no intention of doing the negotiation in the first place." Victor Felis told the young man.
As the negotiation was underway, Boa Shakuyaku suddenly stood up from her seat with an angry expression.
She directly pointed her fingers at Adam Rogers. "You! You are trying to influence our mind!"
