Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 — The Awakening of Sync

The First Morning

The sea breeze carried salt and warmth through the open windows.

Kion lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

For once… he didn't want to get up.

Not because he was tired.

But because everything felt… too calm.

Then—

The door burst open.

"WAKE UP!"

His sister jumped onto the bed.

Kion groaned.

"…Five more minutes."

"No."

His brother leaned against the wall, arms crossed.

"You've been here for three days and already got lazy."

Kion sat up slowly.

"…I saved the world recently."

His sister grabbed his face.

"You also cried over breakfast yesterday."

"…That was emotional damage."

His brother smirked.

"From soup?"

Kion pointed.

"It was hot."

They both stared at him.

Then laughed.

For a moment—

It felt normal.

The Town

Later that day, the tutors hadn't arrived yet.

So naturally—

The siblings dragged Kion outside.

The port village was alive.

Ships rocked gently in the harbor.

Merchants shouted across stalls.

Children ran through narrow streets.

Aurelia walked beside them quietly.

Kion glanced at her.

"…You've been here before?"

She nodded.

"A few times."

His sister immediately slipped between them.

"Good. Then you can guide us."

Aurelia blinked.

"…Alright."

His brother leaned toward Kion.

"She's stealing your spot."

Kion shrugged.

"I never had a spot."

His sister turned.

"You do now. Stay there."

Kion sighed.

"…Yes, boss."

A Quiet Moment

At one stall, Aurelia paused.

A small glass pendant hung there.

Simple.

But glowing faintly.

Kion noticed.

"…You like it?"

Aurelia hesitated.

"…It's nothing."

Kion picked it up anyway.

"How much?"

The merchant smiled.

"For you? Cheap."

Aurelia frowned.

"You don't need to—"

Kion handed it to her.

"Take it."

"…Why?"

Kion shrugged.

"Feels like you'd regret not having it."

She stared at him for a moment.

Then quietly took it.

"…Thank you."

His sister watched from behind.

Narrowed eyes.

"…I don't like this."

His brother nodded.

"Me neither."

Two figures entered the yard.

One was a tall man with calm eyes.

The other, a woman with sharp presence.

Kion froze.

Something about them felt… wrong.

Not dangerous.

But too controlled.

The man spoke.

"I am Master Vel."

The woman followed.

"And I am Serin."

They bowed slightly.

"We will be your tutors."

Kion's eyes narrowed slightly.

Aurelia felt it too.

These weren't normal teachers.

The First Lesson

"Control," Vel said.

"Power without control is destruction."

Serin added,

"And control without emotion is weakness."

Kion glanced at Aurelia.

She glanced back.

Both understood.

They were being tested.

"Show me your aura," Vel said.

Kion stepped forward.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—

A soft white aura appeared.

Calm.

Steady.

Ancient.

Aurelia followed.

Her aura shimmered silver.

Sharp.

Focused.

Alive.

Vel nodded.

"Good."

Serin stepped closer.

"Now—combine them."

The First Sync

Kion and Aurelia looked at each other.

They didn't need words.

They stepped forward.

Closed their eyes.

Their auras expanded.

White and silver.

Slowly—

They touched.

At first, it was unstable.

The energy flickered.

Pushed.

Pulled.

Then—

Something clicked.

Their breathing synced.

Their thoughts aligned.

A thread formed between them.

Then—

A pulse.

The ground cracked slightly beneath them.

Wind burst outward.

Vel's eyes widened slightly.

"…Already?"

Serin whispered,

"This is beyond normal sync…"

Kion opened his eyes.

Aurelia did too.

For a moment—

They could feel each other's thoughts.

Not fully.

But enough.

"…You felt that?" Aurelia asked.

Kion nodded.

"…Yeah." After Training

Kion collapsed onto the ground.

"…I'm dying."

Aurelia sat beside him.

"You're not."

"…I might be."

She handed him water.

"…Drink."

Their hands brushed slightly.

Both paused.

Then looked away.

"…Thanks."

"…You're welcome."

A voice suddenly cut in from behind.

"Wow."

Kion froze.

His sister stood a few steps away, arms crossed, watching them with narrowed eyes.

His brother stood beside her, trying—and failing—not to smile.

"Already sharing drinks?" his sister said slowly.

"…It's water," Kion replied flatly.

"Mhmm."

His brother stepped forward, crouching beside Kion.

"You look terrible."

"…Thank you."

"No, seriously," he added, poking his shoulder, "you almost got knocked out three times."

"That was strategy."

"That was falling."

His sister walked over and grabbed Kion's arm, pulling him slightly up.

"Training's over. You're done."

"I can still move."

"No, you can complain. That's different."

Aurelia watched quietly, a small smile forming.

Kion noticed.

"…Don't smile."

"I didn't say anything."

"That's worse."

His sister glanced at Aurelia.

"…You're strong."

Aurelia blinked slightly.

"…Thank you."

A pause.

Then—

"…But don't think you can replace us."

Kion groaned.

"Can you not—"

His brother cut in.

"She means we like you."

His sister looked away.

"…I didn't say that."

Aurelia smiled faintly.

"…I know."

For a brief moment—

The tension softened.

Not gone.

But lighter. Noble Party

That night—

The family attended a gathering.

A noble party.

Music.

Laughter.

Too many people pretending.

Kion stood near a pillar.

"…I hate this."

His brother nodded.

"Same."

His sister dragged them forward.

"Smile."

"I don't smile on command."

"You do now."

Aurelia stood across the hall.

Different group.

Same discomfort.

Their eyes met.

Again.

That same quiet connection.

A noble approached Kion.

"You're the new heir, correct?"

Kion blinked.

"…I guess."

"You don't look impressive."

Silence.

Kion smiled slightly.

"Good."

The noble frowned.

"…What?"

"I'd rather not be."

His brother choked trying not to laugh.

Balcony Scene

Later—

Kion stepped outside.

The ocean stretched endlessly under the night sky.

Aurelia joined him.

"…You ran away too?"

"…Strategic retreat."

She smiled faintly.

"…Same."

They stood quietly.

Side by side.

Not talking.

But not needing to.

"…Do you ever feel like," Aurelia started softly,"…this isn't your first time living like this?"

Kion didn't answer immediately.

"…Yeah."

Silence.

"…And it doesn't feel like a dream."

"…No."

He looked at her.

"It feels like something we forgot."

She looked back.

"…Something important."

later That night at his house —

Kion couldn't sleep.

He sat near the window, staring at the sea.

Then—

A shadow appeared behind him.

"…You've grown."

Kion didn't turn.

"I knew you were there."

The figure stepped forward.

A man in dark robes.

A Watcher.

He knelt.

"My Lord."

Kion finally turned.

"…Who are you?"

The man lowered his head.

"I am one who once served under you."

Silence.

"You were our Watcher Lord," the man continued.

"The one who guided us."

Kion frowned.

"…I don't remember."

"I know."

The Watcher lifted his head slightly.

"That is why I came."

The Truth

"You are on a mission."

Kion's eyes sharpened.

"I know that much."

"The Devil's Right has already moved," the Watcher said.

"They are not just watching anymore."

"They are preparing war."

Kion clenched his fist.

"…And me?"

"You are the key."

Silence.

"You are the only one who has lived long enough… seen enough… and now feels enough."

Kion looked away.

"…Feels."

The Watcher nodded.

"That is your strength now."

"Why are you here?" Kion asked.

The Watcher hesitated.

"…I requested permission."

"To serve you again."

Kion blinked.

"…You asked the Supreme One?"

"Yes."

"And?"

The Watcher bowed deeper.

"I was granted permission… under one condition."

Kion's voice lowered.

"…Which is?"

"I must not interfere directly."

"I may only guide you."

Kion sighed.

"…Then guide me."

The Watcher smiled faintly.

"As you wish… my Lord." Next Day — Training Again

This time—

Aurelia and Kion stood closer.

More in sync.

Their movements sharper.

Faster.

Cleaner.

Small mistakes gone.

Then—

Everything broke.

Dark energy.

Devils.

The fight begins.

(unchanged core fight, but now…)

At one moment—

Aurelia slipped.

Just slightly.

Kion caught her wrist instantly.

"…Focus."

She steadied.

"…I am."

Their eyes met.

Then—

They moved together again.

Stronger.

Kion raised his hand.

"Magus—"

Aurelia finished it.

"—Sync."

Their combined aura exploded.

White and silver merged.

A new energy formed.

Brighter.

Sharper.

Alive.

The devils stepped back.

"…Interesting."

"But not enough."

They attacked together.

Dark energy clashed against light.

The ground shattered.

Wind roared.

But Kion didn't lose control.

Because Aurelia was there.

And Aurelia didn't falter.

Because Kion was there.

In one final movement—

They struck together.

The devils were pushed back.

Their forms destabilizing.

"…We'll be watching," one said.

Then they vanished.

The devils vanished.

Silence returned.

But not peace.

Back home—

His sister grabbed Kion.

"You're not going anywhere alone anymore."

"…I wasn't alone."

"You almost got killed."

"I didn't."

"You could have."

His brother added quietly,

"…We can't protect you from that."

Silence.

Kion looked at them.

"…You don't have to."

His sister shook her head.

"…We want to."

That hit harder than anything

That night—

Kion stood alone.

The sea calm.

The world quiet.

The Watcher beside him.

"They're moving faster now."

"…I know."

"You're not ready."

Kion looked ahead.

"…Then I'll become ready."

Far away—

The purple void cracked again.

Watching.

Waiting.

Smiling..........
